    I personally think that Under My Skin stands high above her others. Her DNA is so strong, I sometimes have a hard time distinguishing them apart. BUT Under My Skin is so good, I feel that it stands apart. Thanks Ram

    I own about 4 fragrances from Francesca Bianchi, that I love, and yet I totally agree with what you say. Lately, apart from unspoken Musk which to me actually feels it has a different dna (although heavy on iris etc), most of her releases seems "flankers" with too much similarities between them. Yet a long gone exclusive release Cuir Soyeux was a stunning beautiful creamy suede leather, that although it had a good dose of what I guess sandalwood and iris it was different enough, I see some similarities with the leather on Divine perversion from her Hedonik line without the raspberry part, it's a beautiful leather accord, yet she doesn't explore it much, then releases obsessive devotion on hedonik which is to my nose way too similar with tyger tyger with a new floral arrangement at the heart. I was really hoping for somenthing new with Encounters but all I got was (although many don't agree with me) a very familiar previous release luxe calm volupte, and none of something relatively remote of oud which was so marketed, not even a whiff of those ambery soft ouds (maybe my skin hiding it).
    Yet her very limited sitcky lips which was made to a selected few has a thank you for their support, and the rest sold to those with faster pulling credit cards out of the wallet champions, was a very very interesting one, taking some concepts of sticky fingers but altered with a stunning rose in it, although I hate this kind of elitist limited releases, what I mean is, she has a lot of interesting previous work bases to work with, yet apparently she's either afraid to explore it or prefer to go with her most successful DNA base

    Tried everything from her line lately, Under My Skin (especially) and Lover’s Tale were my favourites, Dark Side was up there too. Etruscan Water had potential, but I don’t like the execution, it’s not bad, but I wanted more. I don’t dislike her work at all, she has 2-3 great frags. Now, let’s get to Papillon and smell Liz’s work, I am prepared to get amazed! Cheers!

    Thanks to your channel mate I've started to pick up a few more vintage fragrances nothing to extra yet mostly fragrances from the 90s & 00s but one thing I've noticed is the quality of the blend & ingredients are so much better than the stuff that's being released today. I can see why you like vintage now. 99% of fragrances released today are shite from what I've tried.

    The ass in jeans is a reference to the old Rolling Stones album Sticky Fingers, that the perfume shares its name with. Being her first patchouli fragrance, sort of a 70s rock n roll homage.
    I'd like to see her take on a classic masculine fougere or another chypre.

    And I like that Etruscan Water is a chypre, so a decant of that one can also be good.

    I'll sample all of her fragrances one day, though it's not a rush at all. The only one that I have tried was "Sex and the Sea" and it was not a good introduction to the house. It was harsh, loud and just crap.
    Also I agree that she's a bit obsessed with sexual theme, be it in the name of the fragrance or in some kind of BDSM artwork for her perfumes, kinda trashy imho... and it's not like I'm being offended by it, I just think it's a cheap way to grab attention

      @@RamseytheRam btw, regrading your comments on Mr Smelly, agree 100% I was a big fan at his early stages even joined his Patrion for a while/ I bought every single release with no hesitation, and sold them all this year .why? If you pay close attention to all of them, they are missing top notes, they go to mid and base so quickly, then flatten. The composition idea is good but the materials could have been better, probably should have been priced at $150 with better ingredients

    I think you should try Byzantine Amber - brilliant amber -, and Obsessive Devotion (Hedonik); Unspoken Musk is a very cozy musk.
    I own all but one (in total 20) Bianchi creations and love wearing them.
    I think Europeans are more accustomed to unusual combinations of notes.
    BTW1
    She has 2 perfumes containing real oudh, Encounters (Indian Oudh) and Tyger Tyger.
    BTW2
    Almost every perfume contains rose and/or jasmine even if sometimes it's less than 1%; Francesca's iris is a combination of natural and synthetic iris.

    :’D I hear you when you say that the sexual theme on Francesca’s marketing is crude and somehow off-putting. As South European I can see the abyss between two different contexts. I never thought of a suburban dweller from Texas when it comes to Francesca’s creations, neither a Swede living close to the arctic circle, nor a conservative Brit shopping in Savile Row. They’re not your “dad” or “office” splash colognes either.
    There’s no doubt that the carefree artistic profile of the line comes from someone who grew up in modern West South Europe.
    Said that, “Salome” or original Musc Ravageur feel waaay more “dirty” than any of the Francesca’s perfumes, despite the marketing.

      sticky fingers
      they all have that same dna of hers and they are all very off-putting and disgusting to my nose . the only one that seemed a little different than her boring dna is "lost in heaven" and this one made me puke 😢

    • @fikonfraktare
      @fikonfraktare Před 6 měsíci

      That's a sad attitude to have. God forbid someone wants to be quirky! Perfumery is artistry like any other sense stimulating art form. Why does everything have to be accessible and mass pleasing? Why must independent and niche brands conform to a norm? Art should evoke feelings of various kinds. I think great perfumes should paint a clear picture in your mind of what you smell or transport you to wherever your imagination takes you.
      When I got into fragrances it was exciting to explore all these different scents. Some I may not feel comfortable wearing in public, but I might wear them for my own pleasure at home.
      Likewise some people like to express themselves in more "out there" forms when it comes to fashion. The world would be a very boring place without people daring to express themselves or do things their own way.

    • @Andy_T79
      @Andy_T79 Před 6 měsíci

      @fikonfraktare You didn't get my point at all... Francesca Bianchi just like Le Labo is terrible quality for the price it's just a $40-50 in a $200 bottle for people that think paying for the uniqueness and exclusivity from a quirky brand so they must be hip n cool!
      I owned new and vintage perfumes valued over £1000 and they are worth every penny, but I also own £30 fragrances that wipe the floor with FB, both in quality and execution... they just don't market themselves as something they aren't, so the top knot soy boy hipsters and multi-cat owning miso girls ain't interested... but actually, that isn't such a bad thing!
      FB is the equivalent of printing 'Supreme' on a £10 basic t-shirt and charging £100 for it!!
