Affectionately dubbed the "Cottage By The Sea," Jaime's home is just a few blocks from the ocean in Laguna Beach, California. She has created an idyllic retreat using muted colors, antiques, and layered textures to evoke a warm and serene atmosphere.
One of the highlights of Jaime's home is her expansive garden. It's a dream come true with several seating areas for entertaining, a dedicated cooking spot, rows of orange trees for fresh juice every day, and a thriving herb garden for her culinary experiments.

Of course, regardless of the value of the cottage this sweet young gal has done a lovely job decorating. She puts a lot of thought into every decision and derives tons of joy from her creativity. I’m still doing this (fussing around with my house) forty years later. It’s in the blood. 😊

This home is so lovely. She does need wall decor which would bring it to perfection. A home without wall decor and art is like a beautifully dressed woman without her jewelry. She has such great style in her home and I would love to see the art and wall decor she finally commits to in the future!! This is a MAGNIFICENT HOME!!! I love everything about it, inside and out, and I wish it was mine! I love old craftman homes, but this one has been done up so magically. Just everything about it makes it a wonderful place to live and you are so lucky to live there. I would never leave.

Ms. Zhener’s cottage is beautiful! Love her dining room because it reminds me of an English cottage. The arts of the flowers painted on your lovely. And the kitchen has a little nostalgic of England motifs. The corner in the kitchen is a place to forge memories. Ms. James called her house small but it’s cozy, comfortable and beautiful. You’re very talented. Your home’s decor and esthetic reminds me of Nancy Meyers in many ways but you also shows your own and it proof, I would say a great deal of ownership as young as she is! Great job !
I lived in Glendora 6th grade through college. My first out of town apartment was in Fountain Valley. It was the closest to the beach I could afford. I spent most of my time off in laguna. I have been in Sacramento now for 40 years. It was always my dream to be in Laguna. Your home is the epitome of my dream. Perfect. Two blocks from the beach, it is heaven.
The gin bar is magnificent! Tying in the orange blossoms adds a sweetness to the room, to the hutch as well. It is a great balance of stately with the bar, with a slight whimsical nod. Love!

Since she is a designer, I find it odd that she can't commit to hanging anything on the walls. I am sure when she is designing others spaces , she does it in their homes . My favorite is the dining room moss green built in hutch ,and how its arch mimics the arched entry. Just gorgeous. And the dark bar cabinet is perfect!!!!! The backyard is a dream! I adore old red brick and terra cotta... so this to me is pure charm! Who would ever be lucky enough to have all that patio furniture gifted to them!!!!! I am sooooooooooooo jealous! The windows and use of color and pattern in the bedroom is gorgeous. It has the most personality because of it. And the front yard is as charming as the back, What beautiful lush , mature landscaping. This is a dream a cottage! My only issue is that blank wall over the sofa.... nooooooooooooooo. If you can't commit to hanging something .. do another painted wall mural... or stand an over sized floor mirror with some interesting detail behind the sofa . Just a visual suggestion.

I’m jealous of the Dutch door. Here on the subtropical Gulf Coast in the few weeks of the year the temperatures would be balmy enough for open doors, we’d still have mosquitoes, flies, lizards and no telling what else, making themselves at home inside!
She has the same problem -- look at the end of the video -- she had a mesh sliding door placed in front of the front Dutch door to keep "visitors" out of the house !
My neighbor has a dutch door with a built in screen, genius!

Jealous of the location and back yard is stunning and quite large for a home that size. Happy to see someone else didn't get ahold of it and tear it down and build a mansion. It's very common in the neighboring town of Corona Del Mar.

Beautiful house with stunning interior, however, I would like to know how someone in their early 30s can afford a 3.5 million dollar house?
I live in CA and we knew our kids would need help buying a home. We planned that we would help with a down payment especially since they didn’t go to expensive colleges. We have junior colleges here so the first two years are less expensive. It is incredibly expensive here but it’s gorgeous most of the year and the state has so much to enjoy. I have lived on the east coast as well as Ohio and Kansas. I just love California.
