I think a song name can and should be interpreted differently for every listener and there are no wrong answers. But with that said, this song is for my mother who has a German background. Mutter is Mother in German.
back in sophomore year we had a guitar class in school and someone was running around and ran into next to a chair
ouch! any guitars harmed?
that was 8 years ago... might not respond
@@AetherIsMeIdiot hi 😳
@@AetherIsMeIdiot give it a try :P, NOTICE ME ROB
Imma fall asleep
I think Rob scallon writes all of the default calm morning alarm tones
Lmfao

The perfect comment
It's like silence, colored in
What a great simile :)
I felt that.
That’s beautiful, absolutely beautiful
Epic comment.
I'm glad he recorded this outside. All the birds chirping and the bugs, and the wind... this is amazing.
Reminds me of the peacefulness of Minecraft's soundtrack.
NarkDights | Hexthrill yessss dude
Chances are it wasn't recorded outside and it's just post-production. Anyway it does sound amazing ^^
Ramon Strien Yea probably.
Or at least the guitar track is recorded in his "home studio" and the wind and birds are actual samples from the site!
man if you like this kind of music, you should really check the chilean musician Joakin Bello, he has a bunch of tracks where he uses nature as a resource for his music, regards!
Shred2bits Nice! Thanks, I'll check it out :)
Everytime my son has trouble sleeping me and his mother play this for him. And he falls asleep to every time. ❤ Thank you for the beautiful music rob, Much love from Chicago.❤
That is wonderful!
I like Rob Scallon
He makes really good music
It's snowing on Mount Fuji
+xepherstones :D
Jacob Halfman it's funny to see lovelies in places you wouldn't normally expect them.
YESSSSSS
you must be on an OP devil?
2 years too late yet Im the only one who recognises that as a Haiku
The ocean had the best seat in the house.
+KainzMusic Not to break the news but it's a lake, Lake Michigan if I'm correct
Angad Virk there is a reason they call it "the great lakes" look it up on google maps. They are easily seen from space
+Angad Virk ya, here in Chicago/surrounding area the Great Lakes are something else. A lot different from the ocean. Pure, fresh etc. but I think for this video Rob might've drove to Indiana or Michigan because I don't think you can find a rural cliff like this on the edges of the lake in Illinois.
+vZZenn *wisconsin not Michigan
And actually he has the coordinates for google maps in the description and it actually is Wisconsin so he did take a nice drive.
vZZenn it's near Milwaukee
I'm certain I've written some bad songs haha
I never play at these places when I'm not filming. But I do visit them every now and then, I'm usually on the look out for new places though. And primus. Probably wouldn't be playing instruments if I didn't find Primus when I was 13 or so.
i love how you played this on the new acoustic build video :)
PRIMUS SUCKS WOOHOO
Came here expecting a cover of Rammstein's Mutter, but left after having Rob's sweet guitar playing caress my ears... I'm happy either way!
Thanks so much for the support :)
Much more music to come!
have a good one,
Rob
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. amazing stuff my friend
What’s the tuning for this song
I’d love to learn it
I honestly think that most of Rob Scallon's songs would bend perfectly with the minecraft soundtrack....it's so peaceful i'm legit crying 😅
Man. Every time I hear you play, I FEEL the love for the music you have. After 8 years, still the best piece of music you created. Everything great in 2020. I know you aren't gonna read this comment, but everything best to you and your family in the next decade. Love from Czech Republic
I hope he reads your comment . The best to his and your family . Today i watched his making of the classical guitar and this song was at the end of the vid
The coolest part about this video besides the fact that this song is genius and absolutely breath taking is the fact that you went ahead and posted to coordinates to this spot. I think that's awesome. Keep up the amazing work man.
Glad you like that :)
and thanks!
There's a photo on my fanpage of two friends who traveled there because of this video. I sent them some t-shirts after I saw it :)
8 years now. I can say that I am one of the pioneer since I watched his 1st ever video with under 400 views many years ago. I'm still loving it.
My favorite youtube page. Hands down.
much thanks :)
i come back to this at least once a year and it just gets better every time
You know this song would sound good (well besides everywhere)? A wedding. This would be such a beautiful and chill song for a wedding.
i always thought his song i want to have at my wedding!
@@braescanlon1829 2 years on, 1. Have you got married? and 2. Did you have this song?
Thanks for this awesome song mate!
Lost my mother a few months ago, and this tune letting me feel her right next to me!
It is pretty imposing how he managed to capture the family feeling I personally forgot I had in this song.
Sorry for your loss.
I hope that you and your mother are at peace three years on.
why is his music so beautiful?
In his videos he's almost everytime playing his hard core heavy metal
It's because I have a small penis I think. I'm not sure though. Not about it being small, I'm sure it's small. Anyway. Practice and have hands helps
Charles Campbell wtf
Most of rob scallon’s original music is beautiful solo guitar, like this song.
Also, wtf, FunkyDrummer?
Rob scallion has the most feel of any other player out there. He has really made his mark with his amazing style.
That's absolutely fantastic :)
Thanks for your support!
4:00am. Birds chirping outside. Eyes closed, accompanied by a soft breeze through the window; this song playing in the foreground. All my stress was just washed away by beautiful melody. I don't think I've ever felt so relaxed in my life. Rob, you have a true gift my friend.
I hope Rob will go back to songs like anchor, rain, and for that second, & this of course he really knows how to write a song that makes you not need vocals etc. His playing speaks for itself
One guy, and the best ideas. One song, and the best memories. One guitar, and the best songs. One guy, and the best guitars. Thank you so much Rob. :)
I love the symbolism of being on the edge of something so great, ready to risk the fall for something epic! Well done!
Much thanks!
a lot of credit should go to my friend and cameraman for this shoot Matt Young. He actually did fall off the cliff, camera in hand while shooting. It's in the behind the scenes (in description)
Rob Scallon geez, is he still alive ?
@@MultiAlerocks he is, it's more like he slid down the cliff.
Happy mother's day mom! :D
(Mutter is German for mother)
Thanks so much!
There's a full album of guitar instrumentals in the description if your interested :)
I came back to this today after listening to this 3 years ago... it's beautiful how you write your music. It is simple yet wonderful and it brings me back all the time. Thanks for the peacefulness in this chaotic world, Rob.
I love both, though I find myself using my nylon string more. So I certainly recommend getting a classical guitar, but I definitely don't recommend putting nylon strings on a regular acoustic
Laying here typing this, I just got through a panic attack, and listening to your music while talking through it with my friends really helped me out. So, thank you. Greetings from Wisconsin.
same here
kek
Adis I can understand why that could seem "funny," especially with what's been going on in the Tumblr site for the past few years, but no; my panic attack wasn't me being melodramatic about having work in the morning :) inb4 me getting called a faggot and/or a liar.
meh I don't like bragging about with mental issues
Adis Neither do I :P
Well much thanks!
I appreciate the support :)
Though I'm sure you and anyone watching this could play this with enough practice.
Tab in the description :)
Across the sea of space and time, I waited for the call from the falling star. I found her in the valley, and she kept me with the saints... but when I left to the east, she left to the shadows. And in the snow of Juno, within the walls of education, I am lost to the missing part I knew would die. But I wanted to show her I could try... and try... and try again. Where has my queen of stone gone? Why must I watch the sea alone?
Beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for creating this.
Been coming back to this song over the years. Reminds me of such a varied amount of emotions. 10 years later still hitting me right in the feel box. Thanks for creating this Rob. See you in another decade x
for real, i listen to this at least once a year and each time it resonates more with me
A gem of a song. I keep coming back to this.
Thanks! I'm really excited to release it
you're a real inspiration to the way i play music
big up rob
I think you should pick it up! and the tab is in the description if you want to use it to learn this song :)
Something about this song repeatedly brings me to tears. This is absolutely beautiful, thank you for this.
i love listening to rob's stuff while i'm studying. it honestly helps me focus so well.
Much thanks :)
I'm really happy with this one
Really happy with this music. Reminds me my mother and her kindness...
Thanks! the coordinates are actually in the description. have fun on google maps!
The beauty of this song cannot be expressed in words. Fills my heart with joy every time I hear it.
great music.
great video.
great player.
what else can we say, rob's the man
Thanks :)
I think this is one of my best
Sure thing! This was shot in Wisconsin (a little south of Milwaukee) and the coordinates are in the description if you want to google it :)
everything about this, the imagery combined with the way you play is simply amazing. I love this. Your music really inspires me man
peace!
hmmm, that's a tough question. I guess after you've been doing it a while it is easy to come up with melody, but regardless of whether or not it's easy it's very time consuming
Oak wood cliff and trails!!! I’m from Wisconsin I love this place
Tab in description! :)
Best guitar video I ever seen. It's perfect..
this video calms me so much, thank you rob :)
The coordinates to the location are in the description :)

brought my guitar to my music class in high school, these two kids were running around and smashed into it with a chair haha
it's been 4 years already?

+Rob Scallon oh hey there rob :D
You're acoustics are insane man

Just kill me now because nothing could be more audibly or visually more serene than this. Absolute perfection in so many ways. Watching and listening i am at peace. Thank you Rob...
tabs are in the description if you want to learn it!
I'm sure you could get it with enough practice.
I put all the cover videos I get on my channel :)

the full tab will be up very soon :)
It doesn't sound like Mutter, ofc i mean rammstein Mutter
yea, it's not a cover of Rammstein.
Though a Rammstein cover would be pretty cool.
it just happens to have the same name.
Rob Scallon
Yes the cover of rammstein would be amazing ;)
Rob Scallon YEAH, A RAMMSTEIN COVER WOULD BE GREAT. WINKWINKNUDGENUDGE
...please.
"Mother" doesn't sound so cool?
Tell the children not to walk my way
Can't get tired of hearing this, really awesome job Rob, congratulations dude.
That's absolutely fantastic. I hope you got an A! :D
Well thank you!
I think my cover of scarves and sweaters is the closest I have to that style with vocals
well, if you do have time to pick that guitar up the tab is in the description if you want to learn this particular tune :)
I put the coordinates in the description :)
Google maps away!
me: *o boi i cant wait to see how rob interprets a rammstein song*
me (6 mins 56 secs later): wat
It was nice to play here. And you should see where the cameraman was! on the second channel theres a bit of footage of him falling off
Man.. That hit me way harder than I thought. Thank you, Rob, for everything.
It starts of so slow and then the dynamic increment wants to rip my heart out.
Can't describe it with words how much I enjoy your music.
The cameraman actually slid off the cliff at one point while he was filming. It's in the behind the scenes
So beautiful...
I was thinking this was gonna be a cover of Mutter by Rammstein. Still a magnificent piece.
Well thank you! :)
I'm trying to get myself out there as best I can
Rob, thank you for sharing this outstanding piece of music. So chill...
I'll never understand why this song doesn't get more attention. Been a favorite of mine for years
Love the open tuning you picked
Thanks :)
The full tab is in the description if you want to learn it!
I've been working on it for awhile now. It's super fun but my guitar isn't the best when it comes to harmonic notes tho, but I make do
That's so great to hear! :) I hope you continue to have a blast playing, and we can keep on being in the play-guitar-outside club haha
Looking forward to your Rain cover if you decide on posting!
All covers go on a playlist the main channel :)
Thanks for making this music Rob, helps me to find relief when I'm in deep pain.
Why am I now just seeing this? Wow! this is so beautiful and the scenery only adds to it
I feel Buckethead in this song. Both of you are great guitarists!
That awkward and slightly disappointing moment when you play around with natural harmonics on your acoustic, come up with a cool song, go listen to Rob Scallon, and discover this song then realise the intro sounds almost exactly like what you thought you just came up with... Dammit, Rob. Great song though.
You had to have known the d string is tuned down to a c sharp and the g is tuned up to a g sharp 🤔
I had this song on whilst studying with a friend. Now for some reason this nostalgia is making me tear up. I love this song.
Still one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard
Thanks for the support :) The best song writing advice I ever got was "Throw a bunch of spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks!"
And here I was expecting a Rammstein cover...
Me too :D
same XD
+1 :D
Jim Kristofik same bruh
My favorite song by you Rob.
I got to visit this place a few days ago with the coordinates he left in the description. It was surreal being there especially since I saw this not too long after it was first posted and daydreamed about being at this exact spot. If you ever have the chance to visit beautiful Milwaukee stop by this spot. Thank you Rob for your amazing music. It's gotten me through a lot of hard times and being at this exact location made me appreciate your work and my life more.
Wow, I've been living in Milwaukee my whole life and I've never been to that place. I have to check it out soon. Thanks for leaving this comment two years ago.
a few people recently have told me I am their alarm clock song. I'm happy to be waking people up haha
For some reason this made tear up a little, cause i really want to meet somebody and the sea made me feel the hurdles i have to cross to meet that person the video and the song(even though it doesnt have any lyrics)made my situation pretty relatable:(
Unfortunately that's only Lake Michigan. Nowhere near as beautiful as an actual sea
Thanks Rob for such wonderful music. I listen to your solo playlist every time I work on my college crap. Your music is the only thing keeping me from breaking my laptop.
I love it just the way it is.. Beautiful... Peaceful... Soothing.. Don't change a thing. Very relaxing. You have a beautiful talent..
Great stuff man!! You've inspired me to take up guitar again. Thanks for your awesome music!
HEY IT'S YOU AGAIN
WHAT'S GUCCI MY NIGGA?
Kolby Villanueva AYY LMAO BURDDER!!
Garfielf teh cate
Currently being raped by the awesomeness of Rob's music.
Kolby Villanueva Yeah, i know the feeling. Hopefully you didn't get impaled through your ass.
Garfielf teh cate
Rob's music is actually really good, so yeah, I actually got impaled through the ass. It hurts but it was worth it.
they signify how I wasn't expecting this channel to go anywhere when I made it I guess haha
This needs to be recognized more. You are a musical genius.
Beautifully shot. Excellent work Mr. Rob. I love your stuff. Keep it up sir.
Чувак, я знаю на сколько важна поддержка, и я тебя поддерживаю! Ты делаешь хорошую музыку, продолжай в том же духе! Спасибо тебе!
haha awesome, I probably use them in just about every song
You are changing my life one video at a time, Rob.
I was gonna scroll through the comments to check for the location and then I realized it was in the description.
Thank you so much!!
