- The Zakary Thaks were an American garage band from Corpus Christi, Texas, formed in the mid 1960s.
The band developed out of the Marauders, a teen group which included Chris Gerniottis (vocals), Pete Stinson (guitar), and Rex Gregory (bass), and who then became the Riptides, adding lead guitarist John Lopez. By 1966, they had acquired a new drummer, Stan Moore, and had become the Zakary Thaks.
These guys were so great! One of the best to come out of Texas (and beyond)
I knew John "Chopper" Lopez for years and never knew he was in Zackary Thaks until he passed recently. Great, ground breaking band out of my home town! In my neighborhood even.
Love this band!
THE very first punk rock band! Fact check that. But dont deny this is punk!
Garage on fire.Fabulous.
One of my favorites of all time just rediscovered it last week. So tripply heavy
John "Chopper" Lopez just passed last year. Friend of mine.
right on. I just uploaded this because it wasn't yet. If you want to upload your crappy scratchy vinyl recordings or acetates go right ahead! I would love to hear pristine original masters!
couple original members are still livin here in corpus, and occasionally perform here.
Great Band...👍👍👍

Stanley was one hell of a drummer he hung him self after a long battle with depression!

But his music lives on
Carl Becker!!
Thaks at their psychedelic best!
even a lifted from vinyl comp sounds better than sundazed lps n 45s with crap digital mastering n multiple overdubs, its called lying 2 vinyl lovers n disrespecting what the musicians intended us 2 hear on vinyl,u got some front saying ur reissues r true 2 the original release, which in truth r far superior than yr reissues,so keep it yr sony,s lap dog, every label that reissue digitally remastered lps n 45s r abusing musical history n pointlessly making vinyl a carbon copy of the lame cd version,
