  • Took on the Norwegian Foot March after watching Austen Alexander doing it, and also in preparation for taking on the Fan Dance in a few weeks time. It is a tough rucking challenge that comes, unsurprisingly, from Norway. However, it is not just their military that completes it, so do civilians, and also other militaries from around the world.
The weighted run is 18.6 miles, whilst carrying an 11kg bergen. Water and food is in addition to this weight, and of course you need to wear trousers and boots.
As expected, it was an extreme endurance challenge, which got harder the longer it went on. In fairness, I made it harder for myself by not taking enough food, and not taking the heat into account as fully as I should, resulting in me running out of water at 1.5miles to go (and I took 2 litres with electrolytes in it!).
That said, I got through the challenge, knocking over 1 hour off the pass time.
Have a go at the challenge yourself, and let me know how you get on!!
