    Same goes for bettafix. I buy the 64 oz bottle of pond melafix to refill my regular sized bottles of both my melafix and bettafix. But the concentration of the melaleuca oil in bettafix is extremely low! So I usually make that from my regular melafix bottle after it’s been diluted from the pond melafix. Good info!

    • @coreymelanson6729
      @coreymelanson6729 Před 2 lety +4

      There 2 different products, one for aquariums & one for ponds. The pond version is a 5% active ingredient solution versus 1% solution on the aquarium version. The pond version, designed for larger fish & larger water volumes, suggests you add 5mil per each 150-gallons of water. So, if you have A 300-gallon pond you add 10ml of the pond version. I believe the aquarium version suggests 5ml of product for every 10-gallons of aquarium water being treated (tank size). This video may seem like sound logical advice on its face with all things being equal but of course they're not equal. He does not take into account the dilution rate versus water volume of the medication or the fish size variations between ponds & aquariums. He doesn't even mention them. There may good reason for the difference in active ingredient percentage between the 2 products. Using the wrong one may not be a good idea. Perhaps that a question the manufacturer could answer for us. I'd would use the proper meds at the suggested rates until the manufacturer states it is safe to do otherwise.
