Tribalism is the root of most problems, not only in professional fields, but also in general society as well. I'm a big fan of the New Urbanist concepts, because I think they are moving towards the right direction. But I don't label my self as a New Urbanist or any other type. I try to learn from everything and become a better Urban Planner.

I think I could go with "rural urbanism" - give me an hour an I'll write a TED talk...

If you convert to Sikhism you could become a prophet of turbanism.

This video is ridiculous. Carbon is our friend. The life cycle is also known as the carbon cycle. Carbon Hydrogen and Oxygen are by far the most important elements for life. All three are necessary for life. All three are involved in greenhouse gases as well. Oxygen and Hydrogen combine to form water vapor and water vapor is by faaaaaaar the most active greenhouse gas. It not only traps much more heat per molecule it is much much much much much more present both in the atmosphere and on the surface of the earth. So why aren't the NWO banksters and their scientists for hire screaming about our water footprints.
Because the issue is not really about global warming (which doesn't even exist) the issue is about forcing major lifestyle changes on the population. The ruling elite want to create a new feudalism in which working class peasants won't have houses or cars, and will be living in tiny flats crowded into 20 story highrises in urban corridors along rail lines. It's not about saving the planet. It's about stealing your rights and your property. If you want to see this kind of urban planning and what it leads to go to Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. Don't look just at the luxury areas for the rich. See what it's like in the poor areas as well. Give me urban sprawl over state-controlled planning any time.

@@texasray5237 Feudalism is alive and well in Europe, by the way. I live in Portugal, and companies act as if they own their employees.

It's getting worse and more widespread all the time.

Imagine wanting to encase 1 thousand of years of population growth into a single location. It is obvious sprawl is inevitable, unless you want people's living standards to decrease, as homes get progressively smaller.

Only a tiny bit of New Urbanist projects have been built & virtually none of the landscape urbanists projects. Both are apparently impotent.

What a pity, how all the discussions were lead by the cartoon men. Is it a man-dominated work field? That should be changed as well.
