SC Lists Arvind Kejriwal’s Defamation Case Over Retweeting Dhruv Rathee’s Video For August 12

- The Supreme Court today extended the stay on defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for retweeting a video by CZcamsr Dhruv Rathee. CM Arvind Kejriwal had challenged Delhi High Court order. The Delhi HC order had upheld the summons issued to Kejriwal in a criminal defamation case for retweeting an allegedly defamatory video which was circulated by CZcamsr Dhruv Rathee in May 2018. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta heard Kejriwal’s plea. Kejriwal, in the matter has admitted that he ‘committed a mistake’ by retweeting the alleged defamatory video circulated by Dhruv Rathee related to BJP’s IT Cell.
