- Part I of my series of best of my CNW videos, for people who did not see some of my early work to establish my channel. Start out at Beverly yard in Cedar Rapids, IA and then move onto Clinton where I shot most of my Northwestern video. Thanks for watching, comment like and subscribe.
Wow another “gem” thanks Jeff👍👍❤️😎
Thank you Dennis!
I'm glad I found these videos, this is a huge help for planning my model railroad, CNW from the late 70s-early 90s between Clinton and Cedar Rapids.
Glad you liked them, thanks for watching.
Great video collection here, nice to hear the diesels hard at work instead of that annoying bell going off!
Thank you Otto, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Wow! Good stuff.
Thank you!
it was so wrong watching this, but yet so addictive....my father was a rock island employee, then a cnw man....it was really hard watching this, my father passed on march 13, 2001 due to a agent orange illness from viet nam, the railway was the only place that would employee him...he was to proud...a RI man, CNW man and then BN....
Your Dad is the second person I heard died from agent orange during the Vietnam War. You I thank you for your Dad’s service! Your Dad worked for some good railroads, didn’t get to see a lot of the Rock Island but did the Northwestern. Thanks for watching Roscoe.
@@jefftoft5568 means alot for you to state this. thankyou!
@@jefftoft5568 your comments mean the world to me....thankyou!
Nice video and great memories.
Thank you!
Excellent quality for 30 years ago, and the sound is always very good on old videotape
Thank you Andrei!
Great shot of 6544! That is so cool.
Thank you Allen!
Great cnw stuff Jeff. Very good camera work as well.
Thank you Mel!
Sure am glad you caught all of that great CNW footage!!
Thank you Red!
Wow this is absolute train madness!
Thank you Darryl, appreciate it!
Ya gotta Love the Horns, the Power and the capabilities of the Railroads 30+ years ago. Thanks!👍
👍
Great throwback video. I'm impressed by how fast the CNW ran thru Clinton.
Thank you, yes a far cry from then to now on train speeds.
Awesome CNW video part 1, All the great older power and the sounds of them.
Thank you Steven, I love that time period.
@@jefftoft5568 You are welcome and I very much so also miss that era.
All those nose gongs and GP50s and SD40-2’s…. oh man. Before my time behind the lens so much appreciated, especially those late afternoon/evening westbounds in the sun rounding the corner after the bridge!
It was a good time.
Thanks for this upload. I will be watching this a few times.
Thank you CNWtrain!
Cool
Thanks!
It’s Cool to see the Old 2xxx and 3xxx Numbered UP Units. Huge Improvements at the Railroads.👍
Thanks!
One thing that strikes you is, look, for instance, at that rake of autoracks at 5:05; no graffiti at all!
Yep, almost unheard of these days.
Nice video and awesome footage of the CNW in action! Too bad that this was before my lifetime! Great video by the way!
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Very good video; my only regret is that there is not more rolling stock featured, as this is my primary modelling era. The loco shots will be a huge help with detailing and weathering, especially that second-hand SD45. Loving the trailers as well!
Thanks, that was my early days I film more freight cars now.
I model CNW in 1988. Last summer I weathered three 45 in CR black, but I did 6534 instead because it was rustier. Still, great catch!
My favorite company way better then the UP
Thanks CabCar, they were good.
