I think if Mabotsa is referring to the First Vodacom challenge, he is referring to Asec Mimosa.The first challenge involved Pirates,Chiefs, Esperance then Asec MIMOSA...
Football evolves but with the current state of the game talent wise, I miss the days of a hungry Jomo Sono going literally everywhere scouting... Come to think of it, Orlando Pirates relied on a lot of Cosmos talent to win the Africa Champions Cup in 94...South Africa relied on Cosmos talent for AFCON 96, 98...World Cup 98, '02... In fact, the issue of scouting needs urgent attention because now we are blaming Sundowns but we just don't have good scouting honestly

TK my outie. One can never be grateful enough with words, but I wish you could understand the impact you are having to us as the consumers of this rich material. I must confide, I have never been a follower of any sporting code. For I have always been passionate about broadcasting. But it is coverages done by persons like You, Rob Marawa, BBK that introduced me to football. And it has never been what happens within 90 minutes, but the entity at large. My request is for you to invite PSL administrators, football unions, player agents and managers. To provide clarity about this 'insurance' for players. Because it seemingly exists as an idea, not practically.

@TK the Vodacom challenge he is talking about is the one we played against Esperance where we lost to Makay Nsilulu and we played 3rd playoffs with Asec Mimosa. The ones of Musasa was in 2002 where they won it with St Eloi Lipopo where Mayala saved 3 penalties and Pirates bought him

That is incorrect, The 1999 Vodacom challenge was Esperance and Asec Mimosas. The Esperance that time featured Hatel Trabelsi and Raidhi Jaidi who went to play in Europe and we successful.
Asec Mimosa had Didier Zokora, Kolo Toure and that goalkeeper.
OP beaten Esperance 4 1 in the final, Chiefs won 2 1 against Asec for 3rd place.
The Musasa s Saint Eloi Lupopo came in 2002 after WC.
