âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ THIS EPISODE âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âToday is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So get on your way!â - Dr. Seuss
We had 3 mountains waiting in this episode! After our incredible 20 hours at Devils Tower ( you can check out that video here: âą YOU DIDNâT KNOW YOU WA... ), we headed over our first mountain pass - The Big Horns, which means we were headed to the ranch!
For those who may be new here, this is a cattle ranch in Wyoming owned by family friends where we have come to help out every summer for the last 6 years.
This was a shorter than normal visit for us, so we focused on helping out around the property. We stacked hay, limbed some trees, patched up a bridge, and Corey made some amazing Maine lobster rolls for our Wyoming family! And we canât leave out Lily catching a bat! đł
Sharing our time at the ranch brings up some advice we have for those on the road full-time or planning to hit the road soon - you need to have anchor points. When you live in an RV full-time, you still feel that need for community, the need to invest in a place and to connect with others. It is why we started looking for volunteer opportunities as soon as we hit the road.
Looking for ways to give back led us to find places like the ranch and the Everglades Outpost and ultimately led to the creation of seRV With Purpose, the volunteer initiative that we started with our friends, @pawsforlove , and Lippert. If you are looking for places to give back and to connect with community, you can check out the seRV database here: servwithpurpose.com
These places became what we call our anchor points and are locations that we go back to yearly. They have become road traditions for our family and have grounded us and made us feel connected, allowing us to still contribute to communities we visit. We truly believe having these anchor points has made our travels and adventures even more exciting and have helped keep us from burn out.
If you are planning on hitting the road soon, what are some anchor points you could add to your itinerary throughout the year?
After leaving the ranch, we did something we have never done before. We crossed 2 massive mountain passes in one day - The Togwotee Pass and the Teton Pass. And if you have never crossed over the Teton pass from Jackson to Victor, itâs intense! 10% grade is no joke, so take it slow and watch those crazy curves! Keep following along through the end of this season as this is not the only time we cross this crazy 10% grade!
Stay tuned for next week as we take a ski lift up to a totally new view of the Grand Tetons! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new video!

Bats are the primary animal that carry rabies in Washington State where I live. Iâm glad no one was infected and now you are aware. đđŒ
I watch several full timers videos and YOUR camera work is leaps and bounds above all others. Go Navy!
Must be nice to have all the extra cash , even with how many kids, and traveling full time to have that luxury đŻ
Around here bats are known to carry rabies, never a good idea to touch a bat.
Good job to Lilly. A well taught daughter in every way!
She follows her heart bravely; sheâll do great things.
My daughter Lindsey loves everything wild, adventurous, and humorous as well.
And she receives her PhD in Genetics from CU Boulder this December.
Great job raising 2 great daughters.
- a Dad of 2 daughters.
I dont often comment but I do love your channel - your exceptional videography, your family dynamics, the light hearted side you inject into each video. A joy to watch and follow â€
Your girls are amazing. You've taught them well. Good job Mom and Dad.
The roads from South Yellowstone to Jackson is absolutely unbelievable. One of my favorite places on earth. Great video.
We went over that pass, Rt 16 from Buffalo to Ten Sleep 5 years ago in mid October. We got sucked in with all the signs to take Rt 16. Well, we proceeded over the mountains, and soon into the journey, we started to see snow flurries, then more, and more and more until the flurries were a downright whiteout. So we took our time, no problem. When we finally crested the pass and had to come down the mountain in about 3â of fresh snow without any road maintenance. I had to stop at the top, get out of the truck, gather my nerves (and check my shorts) before we continued on. Oh, I failed to mention we had our brand new (1st trip) Grand Design Imagine. Scared ****less, with Jake brake engaged, we crawled down the backside into Ten Sleep. We (specifically, I, as the driver) were never so happy to see dry roads again. But we made it safe and sound, saw lots of critters and weâll/I will never forget Rt. 16 as long as I live.
I really enjoy your channel, guys!
Another item people donât keep in mind when they work their truck or motorhome how hot the turbo charger gets. So if you have a turbo diesel, always let it idle for a few minutes before you shut it down to allow the exhaust temperature to cool so you donât Koch the oil on the bearings. I spent most of this summer in Idaho and it is beautiful just outside of West Yellowstone Montana. This was with a lot of friends that I have met on the road and it was fun.
Mt Rushmore at night was fabulous last month and we got to boondock at the foot of Devil's Tower in the campground there. Then went to the Wall on the Badlands and boondocked. Loved it all. Love seeing you at places we've been. Don't apologize for not being "live" on your videos. I'm impressed that you're as close to live as you are- you're not too far behind at all. I'm appreciative for your videos always and thank you for the incredible hard work!
Can I ask why you guys don't upload in 4K? You always have the most amazing B-Roll, and I want to see it even better!! Great video as always, and safe travels, friends!
Lovely video guys!! Quick comment from a video production guy, I loved the aerials of the truck and trailer coming down grades. I know how much effort it is to get those few seconds of screen tine. They looked amazing!!! As for anchor points we really have one at this time. That anchor point is San Diego. It's where Toni and I grew up, raised out children and ran our business for the last 20 years. We winter there to get work done for our clients, fill the bank account and head back out on the road.
A couple years ago, We saw a momma bear and her cubs through the Shoshone pass from Dubois into the Tetons! Beautiful drive for sure!! And the teton pass is so scary going the other way because of the drop off, when you are terrified of heights like me haha! Itâs just way more beautiful in person!
Jake brakes are really useful. Lilly really shouldn't have touched that bat; it could've been sick, she could've been bit, and bats are responsible for spreading several really terrible diseases.
Yes, Rabies is a possibility
I agree. When I watched her touch the bat and picking it up I was just shaking head, thinking noooo! Especially since it was in a lighted area. They may be cute, but donât touch them.
Yeah, I couldnât believe that they were encouraging her to touch and hold that bat. Even though there is treatment for rabies that prevents most deaths, bats are still the leading cause of death from rabies. Itâs not just an episode of The Office
Absolutely! They have such needle sharp teeth, people often donât even realize they have been bit! A rancher had one fly and hit him in the chest, but because he had a down vest on, he didnât think anything of it because he couldnât even see a wound. He died of rabies! Whenever you encounter a bat, leave it be or if you are grazed by one, get the rabies protocol!!!
Hey family, how do you get the amazing drone shots? Please share I want to learn and train to use a drone properly. Thank you- love the trip!
I've only been to the Tetons once and definitely want to go back for at least a week stay. It is beautiful. Dash Cam. We don't have one but one of our sons goes to the Minneapolis area frequently for training for his job. He has one on his pickup. He had footage of a crazy driver that tried to drive him off the road several times. My son finally had to do some tricky driving to get away from this driver. He took the footage to the police station, but they didn't want it or go after the other driver. They said this other driver had no license or insurance so they wouldn't do anything even though there was damage to my son's pickup. It is an instance where it does nothing for relationship between the young and the police. It is a sad state when criminals are just left to do their criminal activity with no repercussions.
Great video and details of your trip. Please, the next time anyone wants to gather up a bat, have gloves on or other protection, or capture it in a jar or another container (or just leave it be). Many bats in the US can carry Rabies and their bite puncture is so small you may not even know you were bit. Save travels!
We have close friends in western Wyoming, so we've been fortunate to visit that side of the state several times. Now that we finally have a travel trailer, we're venturing further east. We spent 10 days in Boulder in 2023 and, in 2024, we'll be in WY for a month - about a week each in Buffalo, Lander, Dubois and Boulder. Thanks!
FOS, thanks for sharing the great scenery. We look forward to your videos like this. Corey's shooting and editing skills are tops.
Love your Wyoming footage! I am sorry your time on the ranch was short. I was looking forward to more ranch footage. Stay Safe! God's Blessings!
I donât mind that yâall are behind, itâs nice to see travel stuff in off season when others are doing filler stuff. And being in the FOS crew I can keep up IRL there đ
I caught a bat about 10 years ago. Got in major trouble. Kept it in a solo cup til I could get it home to put out with my bat boxes. (Nurse) dr found out what I did and had a hissy fit. Had to keep getting bloodwork done to make sure I didnât have rabies since I had turned it loose. I feel for lili. I am a severe animal lover and it wasnât happy where it was. SoâŠ. Me and pop went thru Ten Sleep when we went out west year before lockdown
It's amazing how we followed almost the very same route as y'all before arriving at the Getaway! The 10% grade really wasn't a problem for us, as well.
So enjoying your videos in Wyoming. My precious husband and I covered these same places so many times. He has gone to be with the Lord so I watch you and am so sad but enjoy so much as well. Safe travels, thank you for these beautiful sceneries.
A couple of years ago, the hubby and I drove through the Teton Pass heading towards Jackson WY. Absolutely insanely gorgeous! My dream is to own a summer place out there one of these daysđđœâ€
That is very true, Cory, and especially if you drive a Turbo diesel, you never wanted to shut your engine off. When you Are getting off. the freeway. Let it sit and run 5 minutes. So the fan in the Turbo can slow down. You don't want it spinning that fast with no oil going to it..
Our grandson lives in Coeur dAlene and it is so beautiful there. I think Lake Coeur dArlene is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country.
I did the Bella Coola Valley last year in BC, Canada. You start at Williams Lake and it is 5 hrs drive. 11 miles of it, is switchbacks down the encarpment. It is an 18% grade. It is a white knuckle drive but beautiful. Fishing is incredible.
Nice to see youđ âđ„°
That road is no joke, with my 5.3 and my previous 21' trailer the only time I ever felt the pedal drop to the floor was trying to maintain the 50 speed limit going up from the west side, very steep plus high altitude with a naturally aspirated engine made it a struggle.
Tetons are my favorite place! Thank you so much for these episodes. We have family obligations now (taking care of my mom after my dad died) and we can't travel like we used to. So glad I can "go with you for the ride"
Thanks for sharing the amazing travel through this awesome location.
Dash cam is a great idea
Front and rear on car. I have only front on the truck though.
Really like the cab recording as well.
We love the Tetons and hope to visit Idaho in the future. Last year we made sure to go around instead of over the Teton pass when we went to Colter Bay. Our Class A will drop to 30 mph going up before it downshifts to increase speed up hill. We are right at 26,000 lbs with the TOAD so the F53 7.4L V8 gasser struggles a little. Also just added a dashcam to the RV and setup an older one in the Jeep.
We just did our first SeRV rally this weekend and are in Love! Canât wait to do more, itâs exactly what we were missing in our travel life!
I love watching you guys travel back to the places we went last spring! Have to say that driving the steep grades kept me up nights, more than anything before we left in our trip last spring. I researched as much as I could to find out how to drive the truck using the manual transmission.. you learn real quick once your headed down one of those steep grades but it was all very doable⊠even for us âold folkâ!!!đ
Keep on Rving! You're videos are definitely helping a fellow rv'r and New Englander with making travel plans to the west in a few years. Also I missed out this year on the t-shirt sales. Looking forward to 2024! Travel Safely throughout your adventures!
It was good to release the bat quickly. Handling them causes a lot of stress. It is usually best to leave the creature alone until they move themselves.
Yes we have a dash cam and just a camera in the rear that is wired. We found that the wifi camera had a few seconds of delay. DH can see semi trailers coming up behind us or the traffic on the left.
Love your videos, always look forward for the next one. Safe travels.
We went down pikes peak this summer in our Tesla and actually gained battery power on the way down because of the steep grade. It gathers energy. So crazy. Our first experience with that.
Love the Tetons!! I enjoyed the drone footage.
We stay in Moran, WY. At Gros Ventre campground ( pronounced Grow Vant) Long Long Honeymoon channel stay here too. We get moose in 5ge fall come thru your campsite. It is great. Thanks for sharing!
Great video & photo's as always.
The camp staff in Idaho warned us against taking that pass to the Tetons. Said it would kill our trailer brakes. We went a longer way around to the Tetons but it was a such a pretty drive we didnât mind. Also a 10% grade coming into Yellowstone from Gardiner. Definitely not for the faint of heart!
This is why diesels have the advantage in mountain driving; the exhaust brake (or jake brake). Taking it easy and going slower on steep grades using the engine brake keeps things under control and safe.
Those are definitely some beautiful views
Good advice Cory. We got our brakes very hot towing our 30' Winnebago with our Tundra coming into Jackson Hole. I should have used the manual control on the electric brake controller. I pulled over and let the truck brakes cool off. Luckily I didn't warp the rotorsđđ
Awesome ... You guys are the best !!! Missed you last week.
Very nice video! What a beautiful trip! Also, thanks for the safety tipsâŠ
Great drone footage!
Each state needs at least 6 visits to even see the minimum amount of places.
Our favorite drive! It NEVER gets old. Love bringing friends for their first time. Dubois is incredible! We love to stay. Itâs like a magnet. Keep going back. Love bats! ButâŠ.. lol. Holding them? đ
Love you guys videos, your brake tip is right on, being doing for years.
Great sharing friend â€. Thank you .
Great brake tips!
Amazing, simply amazing. Thank you so much.
Such amazing landscapes out west! That area is so beautiful it instills such peace in your soul!! My brother and I were RVing there last year and would love to do it again!
Your photography is spectacular!
Did that same trip last year because of your previous videos. Loved the Bighorn's and loved Ten Sleep!
Great views of the Teton mountains range !!!
The turn out at 3:40 is the best view point on the west side of the pass. It's so awesome.
The elk antler arches in Jackson are amazing. The Tetons are beautiful. We stopped at a chapel on the east side of the Tetons that had a window behind the altar with a view of the Tetons when you sat in the pews. So awesome.
Thereâs also eastern continental divides youâve probably crossed many times
Amazing again, I think I look forward to your videos the most on youtube. Can not wait to join you out on the highways of America.
Great tips guys!
Done that road on the motorcycle! Great road !
We went through the Needles Hwy near Mt Rushmore this summer. The view of the Presidents is framed through the tunnels you pass through!
Great video. Glad you finally learned about the continental divide. I figured you knew about that years ago!!
You forgot to mention the posts on the side of the road when you were talking about the Tetons. They are road markers and they are so tall because of all the snow in the winter .
I so love WY! The Tetons call and are always gorgeous. I once did a riding vacation just north of Dubois and the Wind River ran right through their ranch. Every day we rode all morning, came back for lunch and rode again all afternoon. Every ride was different scenery. One of the very best times of my life! Enjoy!
The Bighorns are beautiful and expansive. I'm lucky to live so close to these, the Beartooths, Tetons, etc. Your channel has inspired me to explore all of these more.
Awesome video. I made a drive one winter from Salt Lake City to Big Sky to Grand Targhee to Jackson and back to Salt Lake City. The most epic ski trip ever.
Thank you for a good video. Blessings
More fabulous photography! Love the travelogs y'all make.
I was born with an itchy foot and an irrepressible desire to travel, explore, learn and enjoy what God hath wrought. When I married my wife Dorothie 45 years ago, she fell in love with my itchy foot (and me, too)! đđđ We've travel to many places but always are called to the western mountains. Next year, we plan to go to the Michigan UP, visit friends along the way and meet up with my brother up there. We'll visit places we haven't seen in 45 years, eat pasties, hunt Lake Superior Agates and the elusive Yooperite. Then we'll head west for our mountain trip to explore roads not previously traveled feast on new vistas that calm the heart and soul. Y'all have safe travels! Thanks for sharing y'all's adventures with everyone.
Bob and Dottie
Beautiful but dang cold đ„¶ in winter đ Safe Travels â€ïžđ€đ
My wife and I have just come from Craters of the Moon in September as well. You'll dig it! LJMJ were there as well just after us and the Ice caves of Shoshone. Smart info on the truck and trailer brakes. Our steepest grade was 20%, but only for a quarter mile thank goodness. Maybe next year we'll be at the Lippert getaway too and we can talk cooking on the road. Safe travels
We have 4 cameras on our toy hauler and they record everything fyi, we dont travel as much as you guys but there are to many bad drivers out there.. great videos keep up the great work you guys.
Best videographer on youtube. Bar none. Well done guys!
I agree! I have no idea why they donât have at least 1 million subscribers.
We went over the passed with a 44ft toy hauler before it was a trip, but we made it over, Jackson Hole to Town in Utah. Time got to top about 10 miles per hrs.
We took that route to Yellowstone this summer on our first cross country trip. Make a stop in Dubois WY if you haven't already. . It was a great little town. The Lone Buffalo was a great steak house and head up to Ring Lake. There is dispersed camping and a great box canyon. We missed the Tetons this time but not the next.
We visited a little Chappel in Jackson it had a beautiful view of the Tetons through a window behind the alter. I believe it was an Episcopal Chappel.
I was there this summer.....spent 5 weeks exploring Wyoming.....I bet our paths crossed!
Another great episode. Perfect timing for a Halloween Bat video. You keep finding new places to take us. Thank you for sharing. We think Jess is the greatest family cheerleader. Great job Mom! â€
Another great video you guys put together. Even on travel days you guys can make a video that's worth watching. I share your videos with family members when they want to know more about the RVing lifestyle. Keep it up, onward to the 100,000 subs mile mark đ
There is also an Eastern Divide weather drainage goes to the Gulf or the Atlantic ocean
When you are too hot, put the heater on. It pulls heat from the engine and cools it down. Open your windows. Or you will be toast... lol
I drove Highway 16 from Buffalo to Ten Sleep last month. A great drive in my VW.. Ten Sleep is cool little town..
We did that road with the 10 percent grade with a 32 foot class c gasser with no problem. Just took our time.
We just traveled through Ten Sleep and the Big Horns. Absolutely beautiful!
Soft like a chipmunk but full of diseases like rabies. Thatâs like encouraging your child to pick up a rat.đ€Šââïž
Hope you got your Rally shirts.
I haven't towed a travel trailer in years but I've always used my gears when ever it works without over revving. From what I understand about bats they cannot take off from the ground so if you see one on the ground and you want to save it place it somewhere high enough to fly from. Have you guys been to Lassen Volcanic national park yet ? Butte lake campground is a great place to stay while visiting and if you want an awesome night hike/photography spot do the Cinder Cone hike, I like night hikes and that one is without a doubt my favorite of them all.
Going through Dubois WY a must stop is the National Military Vehicle Museum just south of town. Itâs a billion dollar world class museum.
I have front dash cam and back camera (2 Chan) recording on a loop 256mb SDI card. Just pull it out and give it to police. They pull it off their laptop, and it shows the person cut you off. Insurance is happy. Must have!
I love 16 over Powder River Pass. Gotta stop at Dirty Sally's in Ten Sleep for Ice Cream.
I have a dash cam in the motorhome front, one in the Jeep's front windshield, and one in the Jeep back window.
So I use 3 dashcams all the time while driving the motorhome pulling my Jeep.
I LEARNED THE HOT ENGINE TRICK THIS PAST SUMMER. COOLS FASTER IF IT SITS AND IDLES FOR 10 MINUTES.
MY MISSION IS TO NOT HAVE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF OF CHECKMARKS INTHE "BEEN THERE-DONE THAT" COLUMN. HOWEVER, I DO MAKE EXCEPTIONS FOR THE THINGS THAT ARE WORTH IT.
O my gosh Lilly! You held a bat! We had on of those in our rv when we first moved into our rv. It was in the bedroom and it scared us to death! My husband got a wad of toilet paper and threw it down the toilet. Needless to say, I was scared to go to the bathroom! Like terrified!!!
I have sang twice at Mount Rushmore.
You want a great route. The North entrance to Yellowstone called " Beartooth Pass". I believe it goes up to 11 000 ft. Skinny w lane rd
Wish I had seen your bat story about 35 years ago. Found one hanging on our living room curtains. Truth! Firefighter turnout coat, goggled helmet, tennis racket, and crabbing net. Two Broken Hand made Lamps later out it went in the crabbing net.
You need to do the 395 along the East face of the Sierra Nevada in CA - From Reno down to Mt Whitney and then Death Valley turnoff just outside for Lone Pine - you have to visit the Western Film Museum in Lone Pine and take a trip up to the Alabama Hills were so many of the great westerns were filmed!!!
REFLECTION = the Tetons in Jessieâs sunglasses @ 19:14 and beyond. đ
The Tetons are awesome!
I would love to all around dash cam. Do they make them? Love your videos. Always find out something new. Thank you đđ
