This is the most crazy skilled player I saw you playing against, truly amazing.
The guy is just on another level wow. To be honest Adam was playing fantastic as well one of his top performances of not the best I saw on the channel, but still it looked like Simon could have risen the level more incase he needed it. Just saw the ranks and he is currently 14th in the world, unbelievable what level you need to achieve to be first.
Simon not even trying, going with 50% of power majority of shots, making sure Adam is in the position to receive, still winning 98% of points with over exaggerated funky style. 10/10, epic.

@@goku445 yeah the presence of mind to see where your opponent is at is extremely good in the pros. They can make good split second decisions. It helps that Simon is used to an insane quality of shots coming at him for years and years 😁
Adam pretty much played someone who could do everything Adam does - only at a World Class level. Amazing.

First, this is the most entertaining match ever - better than the Saive/Chen one.
Then, I always thought you were a little too happy with yourself when snaking an opponent but here you can see it's really nothing but love for the game. He's toying with you like you're usually doing with others and you're enjoying it just as much.

That defensive return Simon did at 9-9 in the final game was UNREAL! Must've felt like versing the terminator, whatever Adam seemed to throw at him it just always came back, with interest. Amazing skills, and great fun attitude as always.
The one at 9-7 was amazing as well. Starting with saving a net roller.
Such creative points! Props to Simon for being a showman as well and trying some cool stuff.
Adam is a pretty good player from an amateur's perspective, and of course you'd expect a world-class pro like Simon to beat him easily, even with a seven-point head start. Still I was absolutely blown away by the ease with which Simon adapted to Adam's style and responded with even crazier shots - while having an incredible lightness to his play and being immensely entertaining at the same time. I think I have not seen any other pro on this channel who showed just a rock-solid performance and at the same time was so much fun to watch. Keep it up - and maybe do a revenge match soon.

This is one of the most interesting matches of World's top player against Adam. Because Simon can easily destroy Adam if he plays direct shot with formal competitive match style, which could be quite monotonic. But instead, Simon is willing to play some tricky and sneaky shots, crazy spiny shots and snake counters, etc, that makes the match really run to watch. Thank you, Simon and Adam, showcasing one of the most interesting match to us.

Goodness me, Adam was outclassed even on the snaking! Simon has incredible feeling for the ball. He made everything he did look effortless. Whatta player!
Simon has the perfect game to play you Adam! He's always been so clever with touch shots, and pulling out the unexpected. He is always very good against choppers so you were going to be in trouble with this one. Brilliant entertainment and a masterclass from the Frenchman. If you could pick one player on the circuit to have a successful career performing exhibitions when he retires, it would surely be Simon. He's a natural at the showmanship.
I like touch shots, since even at club level it can get a bit repetitive when players are just applying always same strategy, training always same drills, practicing against robot. I find more fun trying different shots like snakes, high balls,drop shots, chop blocks or flat/backspin smashes.
Yeah I don’t know why but the way he plays made this match more fun to watch than most of Adam’s other challenges

@@jasonanno3881 I guess because Simon does what Adam does only better in this video - nobody else has come close to doing that. Every other time Adam has played top stars they've just done what they usually do in a normal match.
This level of skill is out of this world. That behind the back serve was better than a lot of people’s regular serve. Also the way he returned your usual point ending shots with ease 🤯
Yeah... and still bunch of Chinese guys would wipe the floor with him! It's at times crazy to think how good the people at the top of the sport really are!

He is this good while casually playing and can only get to World No.8, imagine what the top players like Ma Long and Fan Zhengdong are capable of. This is insane. I've played the sport with a coach for 2 years and can't possibly imagine the time and effort that is put into this. Great job Adam for sharing this sport to a broader audience.

There are an estimated 300 million table tennis players worldwide. #8 is the top 0.000002667 % (less than one tenth of one tenth of one tenth of one tenth of a percent). He is a top professional player.

The most entertaining match so far. I replayed that shot at 9:45 like 20 times. This guy is amazing. Some of his shots are like he is playing big tennis.
that is one of my favorites haha, like how Xu Xin does sometimes when stuck in the lobbing game. I play penhold and try to recreate Xu Xins super looping style but amateur style, it is super fun!

Aside of incredible control from Gauzy, I'm very impressed how Simon was never misled by snakes.
He has always been brilliant against choppers. He has the ability to read slow side spin and that makes him the perfect opponent for Adam's antics.
Some players can follow the logo on the ball to see the spin, for example Timo Boll. Maybe Simon can do it too. I am guessing it is just experience in how the ball approaches him

Wow, Simon must be the strongest and most talented player on Adam's channel so far.
Unbelievable coverage everywhere, including to and past the net for those "bounce back" shots, multiple defenses as well as solid attacking shots, and he can put something extra on every shot even if he's reaching... Never a defensive shot just to keep the ball in play.
And, he's got a pretty good snake of his own.
He outsnaked the snake man, used the back paddel defense that is Adam’s signature he played along like a gentleman. He is just amazing! Thank you for sharing this video. Play him again soon Adam. Best wishes!

I love how Gauzy mostly held back with his forehand, but ripped disgustingly good backhands without any mercy just because he can. A true backhand man. Also, the snake rallies were so much fun to watch.
Those backhands are insane. I'd give my high teeth to be able to rip those in my local league games - can you imagine it! They'd never come back, that's for sure LOL.

What I find incredible when Adam plays against these ultra pros is how completely and utterly effortless it feels for them. Against Adam. That just shows the chasm of talent between these guys (and girl) and even a semi pro like Adam that runs in circles around most players already. Incredible.

Ive been following your channel for a while and played first class when i was younger, and this guy to me seems to be the best you’ve played against on your channel. He got everything, speed, spin, accuracy, no preferences over backhand or forehand it seems, smart player and full control over the ball no matter what situation.
Oh and Adam, congrats on your 1 million mate. That’s absolutely ridiculous and well deserved.
He had an answer to everything. Amazing touch and so playfull yet so consistent. All his trickshots were spot on. What a player.
