Rosa Parks was not allowed to do what she did. She inconvenienced others by taking a stand. The bus was delayed no doubt. It was illegal, and she was arrested. Same with everyone else who engaged in sit-ins. Peaceful doesn’t mean easily ignorable, and it doesn’t mean nobody is challenged or inconvenienced. Parks and others were nevertheless righteous in their cause, and history doesn’t care that people had to change their plans.

When I was younger I got a traffic violation where I had to do something like 10 to 15 hours community service. It was my first violation and I didn't harm a single person, nor did I have any blemish on my record. Crazy how I got punished more for a bullshit traffic violation that I didn't even know about, and yet these people knowingly committed a serious crime and got a slap on the wrist.
And yet a person standing out in public taking pictures, in public, get arrested on the spot and charged...

The protesters that blocked the Bay Bridge a few months ago got 5 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE. 6-12 months in jail, hefty fines, and restitution for the victims would send a better message. If you want behavior like this to stop then the people need to be held accountable. 5 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE is not being held accountable.

Peacefully protesting is a very big part of our country. Getting in the way and forcing people to see the issues is just how protest works.
Your travel is not a right in the constitution, do I like being inconvenienced to get home or get to work no. If anyone dies in an ambulance because they are not moving then they can be charged. But bills passing in Florida and other states okaying it to actually run human lives down because they are excersizing their right to assembly is not okay. I get the frustration trust me I do but anyone getting fired for being unable to get to work because of the protest says more about your boss than the protesters. Not everyone is peaceful and those that are not can and should be arrested.
Blocking a bridge is a criminal offense. Do you support criminal behavior? Also, they must be really thick to think these actions help their cause and get people to side with them.

I understand but how our country was founded we broke laws to become what we are today. What is legal isn't always what's right.
Again I don't like them blocking the flow of traffic as a fellow traveler with my own life and my own things to worry about but I can't hate on people that are excersizing their right to assemble.
Standing on the side of the road is easy to ignore because it's disrupting nothing, shock and disruption of the daily robotic routine of the travler is a sure way to be seen. It starts with being noticed and often in locations that big city officials and people that make policies are going to travel and see and be affected by.
Now you have bad apples that will always be there to derail the focus of those trying to assemble and demand change for often very valid and important issues. But we gotta be smarter and realize that even if we don't agree with the method, it gets them seen. We are not in an age to stand on the side anymore, everyone's texting and driving now and never looking up. So you have to get in their way.
