No knife? If I ever asked my Father if he had his pocket knife on him he would reply...I got my pants on don't I? LoL
My Dad was just like that! He kept his pocket knife so sharp it would shave the hair off your arm.
Even one of your "bad, sad" days fishing makes for a good video...just by the fact you seem to enjoy what you're doing and where you are. Well done Beau!
im gonna be honest, i have no idea why im watching this, but its intriguing
I just realized your voice is easy to listen to, the Bob Ross of river searchin'
I have thought of Beau as having Bob Ross's voice also.
+JoeyBooey HAHA omg... EXACTLY the same thing i thought! He sounds like Bob Ross in the way he speaks, so soft :D
+JoeyBooey Just getting cought on some happy little trees here with my titanium white magnet...
hwite* ;)
Easily one of the best comments I've ever read. I think it's the "titanium white" that got it.

Hey brother I just wanted to let you know I'm giving you a shout-out from the great city of Spokane Washington I must be the only magnet fisherman in this whole entire area at least so far I've meant no one keep up the great work and you're helping me out I'm new at this but I'm finding all sorts of great historical things take care Paul
Beau, the hook thing was either used in uncoupling rail cars, or could have been used in an auto repair shop for hooking the "arms of a hoist, to pull them from under a vehicle after the hoist is down.
Not boring when it comes to hunting treasures and learning history
Going lure fishing was how I filled my first tackle box, when they let the water out of the lake we always fished in, dad and I would row our way around the shore and salvage any lures we found. One Saturday we collected enough fairly good lures to finish setting up my very first tackle box. Still have a few of those old lures, yet. Even found an old aluminum lure holder full of lures. Just had to replace the hooks on most of the finds. My favorites were the old red and white Dare Devil spinners, have a bunch of those in various colors, but the red and white works the best. Found a silver Krockodile Lure while fishing for Northerns up in Wisconsin one year. Couple of years later caught a 45+ lb chinook salmon with it on one trip over to the coastal rivers. At the time when I held it up in front of me, with its nose level with mine the tail extended below my knees, I was pushing about 5'7" at the time. Hey Beau! I have a humble tip for the master. If you fix a cone to the top of the magnet pointing up with a hole in the point for the rope, no more grabby in the loggies. Of course a slot will be needed for the eye bolt. This might be a fun project for you. Thank you for sharing you're awesome videos.
Nice day just to cruise the river. That big round thing looks like a bell. Thanks for sharing !!.....Rhino
Got a great idea works perfect. Buy one of those dollar general kids foam bats about 3 feet long for one dollar with the hole in the middle, large sized, about 2 to 3 inches wide. Run your rope through it, pulling the magnet up flush against the bottom of the foam tube so it wont stick out but will still stick to metal and secure it with duct tape. now you have a snag proof water magnet fishing tool that wont be prone to getting caught as much. Add lead weights accordingly to rope near magnet to suit. Works great!
The fisherman s knot is the best knot for almost everything
I think of ya Everytime the hubby an I watch the Oak Island series. They need u there!
Man I have not seen a Cogwell cog in ages. Not to be confused with a Spacely sprocket.
Your always looking Beau, nothing stops you man !! Thanks for the vid. Merry Christmas !!!
I think the hook thingy is to uncupple train wagons. Great vid Chigger. I just got my first magnet with 440kg. I will hit the creeks in my area first. This area is very celtic and they are all untouched. "Hold your breath" - Aquachigger
Great watching and learning for my grandson and I. Thanks! ☺
Dangle is such a funny word. Childish giggleing ensues.
The round item you found looks like part of a big electric school bell.
seems like gold to me .. old axe , horseshoe and rail spike .. worth cleaning up and selling to restaurants for decor ...
At Norfork Lake I once hit it when the lake had really dropped. Out of one big bush I retrieved 15 or so lures, most of them in great shape. I also got eyeball to eyeball with a vulture eating a carp on the shore. Years later I learned how vultures can regurgitate vile acid stuff to repulse anything close. I was lucky I did not get a face full of it!
You are so inspiring, my daughter and I are really excited about doing this with our metal detecting this summer!! keep up the good work!
Thanks for all the effort in making videos this year, its well appreciated!!! Merry christmas from Belgium!
That first heavy item is the broken spindle from a gate valve complete with top flange.
When fishing from the shore, if you have the option of course, bring a come along. If it gets stuck a person might not be able to move 200+ lbs of stone but that baby sure will.
I love your videos man! So glad i subscribed! Keep up to the great work!
I love the Magnet Fishing videos, Merry Christmas Beau
:-D
Merry Christmas to you and yours Beau.. I am glad I ran across your channel this past year, and I look forward to your videos to come..
NOW I HAVE TO GET STARTED IN MAGNET FISHING. I KNOW A DEEP HOLE IN MY AREA. THANKS FOR VIDEO. (HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO TIE GOOD KNOT LOL )
Try the bowline its simple and tough when done right although the it might not be the right type of knot for you ps it's one of the most used knots
+farmall1951c also try the Palomar knot. it's the strongest fishing knot tested. the best thing is it has TWO lines around the terminal spot your tying it to. very easy to learn. it WILL NOT FAIL!
+Dylan Hopper .....the best knot ever
HALF hitch works best for beginners
Michigan Mister same, roofing and tree surgeon. You gotta know what your doin and trust ur fellow coworkers knots
I wanted to thank you for your informative videos from Magnet Fishing to Relic and Metal Detecting! I've learned many ideas from your videos and now have you subscribed! We share many of the same hobbies! I love the Civil War relics! Thanks again, Keep those videos coming!
Thanks for sharing Beau, I like all your videos, even when you don't find alot of good stuff
I love magnet fishing Beau, thanks for taking us along.
I like the things that you caught. I am interested in what that pole with the hook on the end is too.
Canoeing, rivers, in the wild, pigs..... DELIVERANCE! lol
Hey Beau, you have made me laugh and smile the last few months of 2015! ( i only discovered you recently) but I've been back tracking your videos when I can. I thank you very much!
At first , when i read the title, i got pretty pissed because I thought it was going to be some kind of poaching method but then i smiled and kept watching.
Another Fun Hunt!! Thanks Beau!! Merry Christmas!! & Best wishes!!
looks fun thanks for making and sharing.
You are so easy to listen to and so relaxing to boot...and no profanity..another plus in watching your videos..I do have one question...I remember watching your video on how to tie a rope onto the magnet..and you saying no knots..as it makes the rope weak at that spot..then I noticed in this video, you do indeed have a knot in your rope..hummm oops...anyway...keep those awesome videos coming!!!!
i could be wrong but the rod thingy looks like a hook that would be used to hunt turtles in the river bank, a person would go along the bank tamping with a thinner straight rod and when they hit the turtle's shell it would sound/feel hollow and then they would hook the turtle's shell (with two hooks)and bring them up through the mud
busy at work always good to relax watching you work. thank you sir.
That axe head is a pretty good find, looked like an old plumb rockaway pattern.
I'd restore that badboy & cut wood with it.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the videos!
History and modern things, no matter what still neat finds. God Bless
I rightly enjoyed your video sir. I get a kick out of all the neat items you find.
Beau, you have inspired me! I have bought my super duper magnet and the parts to rig it like I want it. Once it is together, I will be fishin it around the boat launches in my Florida area. People lose lots of stuff. Wanna take it back home to Missouri sometime. Lots of shallow streams I wanna fish.
Your " hoooky thing" is used for holding large gates open , very common on old stable blocks over here in France and UK
Thanks Beau
Nice video looks like fun..That does look like a magnet from a old speaker. The axe heads where most likely from lumberjacks they used the water to float the logs to the mill. The long item with the hook on one end and loop on other I'd guess it's a handle used in rail roads. change tracks. also used for opening up the big furnaces on the engines. Thanks for the enterprise entertainment.
Love your vids bud...I watched your last magnet fishing video and started doing it. I have found some cool stuff.
awesome movies. I really enjoy all the relics you unearth.keep up the awesome work.
very cool video Beau. thank you
That bowl with a hole in the middle, is the casing to a fire alarm bell, i have them at work...but there red not rusty! lol
Happy holidays to you and your family. Thank you for the entertaining videos. OREGON USA
Had to subscribe after watching this vid. You made me laugh and you had a good time. Plus I have a use for some of my larger magnets now, so thanks!
Domed iron looks like it may be the top of a wood stove. Come to lake Huron. You could snag a freighter. Detroit river they found a 200+ cannon.Have a good boat water is 30-90 feet deep. Most of the cannons are found just off shore 15 feet. Do a search cbc Canadian news Windsor Chicago Detroit. Centuries-old cannon found in Detroit River
Great fishing man thanks for sharing
The "hooky thingy" at 11:45 looks like an old tool used in hay baling.
The spiky thing with a ring on it looks like a civil war picket pin. Cavalry would drive those in the ground tie their horses to it.
Thanks for the great video buddy GOD BLESS.
You be jigging that magnet, just like fishin, Merry Christmas to you and your Family, Capt'n
I believe that was a Line or rope hook for logging and boating. It looks like one I have seen before of my Great Grandfathers.
A thought. If you had a wider magnet and attached your rope in the middle of the magnet then it would be less likely to get caught in the holes between the rocks. Of course that is probably where your best swag is that you could find. This was VERY interesting to me. I am a canoe user. This gives me another reason to get in the water. Thanks.
Thank you for making great videos
This looks like some fun fishing!
Well at least your fishing collection just got a little bigger
Merry Christmas to You and Your Family Beau
The foam is a clever idea.
Love the kayak set up :)
Like Mr. Rogers meets Sanford and son! I guess that put me in this category also because i love everything this guy does too. I just bought one of those magnets on E bay last month and just tuned into this guy to hear about his metal detector views. Surprised to see he is on the same wave length as me magnet hunting wise. Even has the foam wrapped around the magnet i tried. A small ball shape works best i have found. He is quite entertaining so i will have to check out all his other video's. Another entertaining person is the German sling shot guy on You tube. Really funny and quite an innovative inventor.
That first snag was a boat anchor wedged between two rocks.
Thought of another idea for retrieving a stuck magnet, with a chuck of metal with rope attached, move way of stream or down and try to hook the magnet with the metal from a different angel..
Great magnet fishing Beau. Merry Xmas my friend.
merry Christmas beau my woman picked up the ace 350 per your advice love it all i need now is the monsoon season in Jersey to end guess it could be worse cold be snow lol have a good new year and keep up the good work love the videos
I see ya got over 201..Nice,there is never a dull day in the water or the kayak, always interesting to see the junk or ya find.. Merry Xmas, Happy New Yr. is due..Stay safe !!
Thanks for signing my calendar I enjoy your videos
You did great. Interesting. They have cameras at sports fishing shops where you can drop the camera pretty deep and see what it sees with a monitor in the boat. Maybe that could help.
The hook with a bar and ring is either for a lantern or slack rope on a pulley.
Nice vid, I've checked out magnet suppliers in the UK Beau and come the New Year it's game on! Got loads of places to go with some great history, so with any luck we might get some interesting finds. Peace out.
Happy holidays to mr. and ms. Chigger (:
A video showing what relics will stick to that magnet and which ones won't would be cool. GL&HH
gloves are important, and realize that you will get muddy. i picked up a few pointers, thanks beau!
