I'm told that the Electroliner has a greater range than the BYD, so I suspect that they will become really popular. First have already ordered a large batch, and Wrights are expanding their works in anticapation of more orders! Yeah, it is the Wright Electroliner, alongside the Wright Hydroliner.
Thankyou Mark for your input...đŻđ
@Zhuoqun Ma engineering's not my strong point, so I'll bow to your knowledge on this! But the weak range of a BYD (I work for NXWM, where the BYD's from our Yardley Wood garage have to be replaced by diesels on late night duties) will put off a lot of operators if a better alternative exists.
Thatâs why Abellio London Ordered for 111s they need long range Battiest for 111 the 111 long mileage route Kingston to Heathrow 22 miles
I don't disagree with the relative theoretical safety advantage of LFP chemistry, but it needs to be stressed that the safety aspect is not dictated by the chemistry alone, but also the manufacturing quality, pack design, thermal management, usage environment etc (if you look at reported EV fire recorded in China it's disproportionately skewed towards BYD and their LFP cars - however do need to admit they also have a far bigger market share than others). Also to note the key driving factor of LFP at the moment is the fact they're so much cheaper to make, other aspects are added bonuses (and very good for marketing - but exaggerating on safety is also going to shoot oneself in the foot when fires happen, such as BYD who claimed their LFP âblade batteryâ will eliminate EV fires). In other word it's like 80% for profit 20% for safety instead of 100% for safety 0% for profit they want to make it appear to be. The lower vehicle price also led to these manufacturers using LFP (ie.Yutong, BYD) winning a lot more procurements in the UK.
And lastly on buses. All new non-BYD ADL EVs will be built on a platform that can easily swap modules for upgrade, so won't be much of an issue (although only NMC offered ATM) should LFP really turned out to be so much better suited for the task
BYD is boring as hell tho
Happy birthday in advance and yes it is called a wright electroliner
Thankyou for the input.
Cool video Anton. Due to get these on the 307 in the summer.
Nice...đ
@@DoubleDeckerAnton Hopefully the seats will be like the ones Abellio have.
Amazing bus !!
happy birthday
Happy (early, belated?) Birthday, Anton! Thank you for all of these insightful, educational videos on double decker buses in London! Keep up the great work doing what you do serving your community on the roads! Cheers and Happy New Year and best wishes to you in 2023! :)
Thankyou...đ
We're getting these up in North London for the 307. Im quite looking forward to having a go on them
Yes, I hope the seats have better padding for comfort.
@@DoubleDeckerAnton That would be a dream come true. Itâs about time buses in London get some proper seats like coaches have.
Good video Anton! That was amazing bus! Happy birthday
Cheers Naomi. đ
Happy Birthday Anton.
Dublin Bus has a large order of Electroliners in for next year as all the city's garages are preparing charger stations to accommodate the vehicles . Our last big order were Dennis hybrids
Happy Birthday Anton...hope you had a good one, as this is uploaded on that day. đđđ
This bus is brilliant and awesome, and great video once again âïžđđœđđœâïž
Happy birthday also đđđđđđ hope you enjoy your day
Ta Geoffrey.
@@DoubleDeckerAnton Always a pleasure
It was nice meeting you today canât wait for the new video
Many happy returns Anton.
Thank you so much for this video đđŸ very informative đđŸ
Happy Birthday!đđđđThe new electric bus looks nice.
My friend Dan is very sick with booetes , your videos are really helping him.
Your welcome Walter. I hope Dan recovers soon. đđ€
Looks like a cool bus!
Great video and Happy Birthday đ coming up đđ
Great video as always Anton. We getting some newer buses in Medway soon. The oldest buses are 04 reg. Hope you ok. Happy Birthday x đ„łđđđđđ
Thankyou Sarah...đ€đđ
@DoubleDeckerAnton no worries Anton xđđ
We still have a few 03 reg buses think we have two i could be wrong but we have a few 04 reg and a lot of 05 plates that are being changed soon as they are getting on .
There is a 100 due for Dublin Bus,they should be arriving soon
That is good use for electric vehicles
I Love The Wright Electroliner. Some Have Entered Service On Route 111. I Have Ridden One On Route 111
Lovely video, anton! †(and it's me, BombasticSuperHero)
happy birthday anton!, we are getting these in dublin to replace most/all of our B9 E400s, ALX400 B7s & B9 Gemini 1s.
Very nice indeed..đ€
Happy birthday anton
That battery thing at the front near the cab is on the WSDs that run on the 44, when i first got on that last year I wondered what it was.
Good vid Ant
Great video we are getting these in ireland as well
Great how J.C.B. turned Wrights around.
Bamfords eldest son probably got a very good deal to buy them out I'd guess.
Anthony, Joey's son has I think a deal to buy approximately 50% of all Australia's blue hydrogen, he's pushing the big yellow digger company down the Hydrogen route, they've already converted some of their diesel engines to Hydrogen at the engine plant, Foston near Derby.
Fun fact this was on the 119 route that runs from Bromley to purley way
Happy soon birthday anton the buses at your company are incredible and in the north on these buses that are diesel wright streetdecks and they do have that corner windows on the upper deck at the top!
I LIKE THE NEW WRIGHTBUS ELECTROLINER
Happy birthday Anton!!!
Cheers. đ€
Epic video â€â€đđ
Happy Birthday Anton
Thanks
Nice!
There are a few of them on the 119 route in South London, they're bloody incredible. The ones I've been on had 72 plates, the seats are much more padded now and definitely the best bus seats I've sat on.
Nope , there was only 1 and it was transferred to Camberwell. But 64 are begging them.
@@SWLBuses I went on one yesterday...
@@mildlydispleased8853 nope bc that plate had been changed. 119 is only using using g2s , g3s , EVS and mmcs
119 uses BYD E400EVs
@@jonathanholmes6520 yeah I said evs
3:16 thats the most common type of seat on Indian city buses lol
Nice Video Anton! And These Electroliner buses I think they are also with abellio
Happy birthday đ have a great day take care x God bless
Thanks Laurence.
Great Video Anton. Abellio London Arriva London Metroline ordered them buses this year and Next year
Hello Sir. I saw you driving a single deck this week in Walthamstow Central. Me I drive 20 đđ
Anton, we have these new electric buses on our route 23. It's also the same
Issue with the with the bus being cold for the passengers and driver, although the engineer's have put extra heaters down in the pedal area. This does make a difference.
We have Ee in south west
Abellio ran one of theirs for the first time on Tuesday and when I went for a ride it broke down... Prior to that it was very smooth and the seats were comfortable!
Itâs Abellio so no surprise
These were supposed To Be For 111 Down In West London But I Guess 40 Possibly Stole Them đđđđđđđđđ
And Happy Birthday
111's Electroliners are all delivered but the chargers are not yet ready. Some will start out on the U5.
Arriva has some on order for the 307 route
Weâre getting these up in east London for Route 86 Iâm really looking forward to go on them !!!!
We are getting 31 at North Street for the 86
woohoo new cute bus â€
An Electroliner was on trial at Go north east on the Angel 21.
Imagine having these buses on routes that used to have Trackless Trams back in the day.
we actually had one of these as a demonstrator before, and they had the same thin seats - just the default wright seats that no one really uses. I'd be surprised if they used them as most bus companies don't use the default seats
It's all about light weight, I find the inside terrible on them and extremely uncomfortable
Yes! Finally! A double-decker EV in Camberwell bus garage!
the wright electroliners are also going to abellio on 111 to replace the NBFLs
Anyway happy birthday Anton
Starting off on the U5 first, until the chargers are ready for the 111
finally my local bus getting a new desigb
design*
Why donât the electric buses have rear windows downstairs?
Because thereâs so many batteries they all stack on top of each other to the top deck window
@@RH-eq5jy oh ok thanks
happy birthday for whenever it is :)
Looking well anton they had a electroliner on hire in southampton and the seats were really uncomfortable and plastic
That's a electrolibers there built in Ballymena in Northern Ireland dublin bus is get some in may
Nice to see them in other cities.
@@DoubleDeckerAnton ik it's amazing buses I am also a big fan of your videos
that is the bus that was on trail on metrobus croydon on the 119 but its now gone to an other go ahead london garage, metrobus have now got the nicer spec enviro 400ev on the 119 now
I saw one of those electric buses on the route 119 towards purley way colonnades
Happy birthday in advance Anton! What would the range be on those buses?
I hope the wright bodied B5LHs dont go, you know those are my ultimate favourite buses to drive.
These electroliners are nice looking and what not but i dont like the fact that in the cab looks like a streetdeck/streetlite.
Good to see it on another route other than the 245/7/111 đđœ
2:37 the leeds sturton park and ride buses have them funny camera mirrors
YES IT IS WRIGHT STREETDECK HAVE YOU HAD YOUR TEST ON THEM YET?
Pretty detailed demo. Do you think long term that electric or hydrogen busses will be most beneficial to London bus routes?
Wright Streetdeck Electroliner, Electroliner is the classification for a wright electric bus and streetdeck is the body, the same way Ultroliner is the classification for a wright diesel bus. But most call it a wright electroliner for short since its the most common wright electric bus.
A few more routes are getting them currently known as 64, 111, 142, 307, 612 and 642
And 119
@@mildlydispleased8853 no, not the 119
The 64?
So your telling me TH will finally be getting some new busses đ
@@officialcavz yes TH are getting some for the 64
I am sure that this bus was just before Xmas was in Aberdeen with stagecoach but completely blue
111 as well with Abellio London
Translink Metro here in Belfast has 80 Electroliners in service. They have leather effect seats, which are very comfortable and quite supportive, different to the London example.
Are they much better than diesel buses. Electric or hydrogen buses are the future, great for cities where air pollution is a key issue
@@jakehowie442 Very powerful vehicles, I'm not a bus driver, but from the passenger's point of view the Electroliners have plenty of lift. The Hydroliner is very similar.
I've been watching quite a few of your videos for the last few weeks to try and get a bit of insight into the industry (I'm starting as a trainee driver with East Yorkshire next week) , loads of good content too and a great insight for a newbie like me, one thing tho is I still genuinely can't understand why your employer (who I believe my new employer is part of) don't like you filming with there logos in sight, I haven't seen any content that would put the company in a bad light, infact sometimes the complete opposite? It's great to see people with a passion for the job, a very strange stance taken by the company, Anyhow keep the videos coming đ
Thanks Chris, I hope you pass your test soon and will be driving buses in East Yorkshire.
The social media at work policy, is in place to protect the company incase of anyone using the company logos and causing a complaint.
I dont represent the media.
I'm just a lone bus driver, choosing to inform viewers on what its like to be a bus driver.
I've always had an interest in buses since I was four, so I do this for my own pleasure, as well as for others.
Not many bus drivers are on CZcams, so I seem to have picked a unique topic to talk about.
@@DoubleDeckerAnton most bus drivers are on tiktok tbh đ
@@hamzahbutt4819 True
Yes it is the wrightbus ELECTROLINER
The BYD is an Enviro400EV, correct?
Also, this looks so much like a Wright Streetdeck
quite like that anton
Happy 44th birthday
Thanks Dustin. đ
Anton i think you should try to find other bus companies like transport UK, metroline, stagecoach and arriva because they have way better exteriorâs and interiorâs instead of GAL and they have ordered lots of electroliners and GAL is a demonstrator with a bad interior
arriva leicester having about 25+ of these in October
DoubleDeckerAnton Iâm going on an enviro 200 Ev 71 plate
whats your opinion on the Alexander Dennis Next Gen EnviroEVs, which aren't BYD (including the new short Enviro100EV)
I personally don't enjoy driving the electric busses. One of our routes we have a BYD bus which immediately I could tell has some collaboration with Dennis because it has the same Indicator storks. Now these busses are electronic speed limited. Their slow to pick up and does not have enough pick up to overtake a cyclist if you had to. In short if your running late your running late there's no helping yourself on an EE bus. Meanwhile you have the Alexander Dennis the 12plate hybrids. Smoothest Drive and plenty of pick up power. The Gen after that is a little more refined you could say but the brakes feel a lot more spongy. The older Dennis bus the retarder brakes made the ride considerably smoother. The Borris Busses have the best passenger seats by a mile compared to any other make and model their so much more comfortable. Is it bad that I preferred the drive of a scania bus and the first gen hybrid enviro 4000 over these new buses.
National Express West Midlands has been trialling the wright bodied hydrogen variant
I can renember Lothian having one on trial.
The bus depo I work at some of the building collapsed crushing a bus
Camberwell are finally getting electric double deckers after years of just having electric single deckers.
The electro liner is on route 7 now
I donât know how long ago this was recorded, but recently some 72 plate BYD Enviro 400âs arrived in London although Iâm not sure what route
So are at RATP and the rest mainly are on the 119/264
The u5 buses have panoramic sunroof fully electric
Has anyone ever told you that you look like RenĂ© from âAllo âAllo? đđ
missed Optare Metrodecker are also electric
Transport For Ireland three hydrogen buses being trialed with bus Ăireann had issues with the heating too.
million dollar questions : does the entire bus rattle and shake when idle?
We have alexander dennis in my city enviro 500
is this the first digital blind on a london bus? They have been using them for decades here in Ireland, even a few on the old Volvo Olympians from the 90s, I personally prefer them as they age better, would like your opinion anton.
I noticed today that the blinds on the bus at West Croydon going to St. Georgeâs Hospital (Route 264 is it) look different; are they digital?
Some buses have LED blinds now, but very few have digital blinds like that. Iâm not sure if they are just better LEDs or different types. The BYD London edition (with the sky lights and new ibus) for example has them. But the regular BYDs dont.
Northern Irish built. đ
Looks like the bloke from allo allo
You mean Gordon Kaye (from Huddersfield) or the Policeman (good moaning)...?
Hi Anton, do you need to take a test on that electric bus or is it type training?
Type training
@@almilhouse9059 Thanks
in glasgow we have alot of the byd evs deckers and the heating on them are rubbish all down to the range of the vehicles the hotter they let them get the less range there is buses great for summer rubbish in the cold winter months
Maybe the seats feel flimsy as they my be to reduce weight. Seems strange that on a bus run on electicery' the mirrors are electric where the standard ones wouldn't require drawing power from the batteries
it is actually a BYD electric streetdeck
