The Meaning Behind the 2023 City Connect Uniforms | Pittsburgh Pirates

No matter how much we’ve evolved, what’s in our blood has always been true. The love for our city and our team. The bridges and the three rivers. And of course, our Pirates. A custom graphic print adorns the jersey, inspired by steel industry icons, the three rivers, and the checkerboard found in the flag of the city of Pittsburgh. The texture on each letter of the “PGH” is inspired by the texture found on the Roberto Clemente Bridge, while arching text nods to the city’s iconic three bridges. On the sleeve, you can find the iconic Pittsburgh “P”. In this city, we bleed Black and Gold.
