- My dad restored this 1936 Ford 2door sedan when he was 16, it was his treasured car& he won first prize in many car shows, and it was very painful for him to sell it in 1993. He sold it to pay for seminary. I finally found it and bought it back for him, hid it in my garage then invited him over, this was the surprise video we made so other family could see his reaction. You can tell he's more of a private person when it comes to his emotions. He is VERY VERY moved, you can tell. The first question "Where did you keep it?" is not the first question he asked himself, he had gazillion silent questions in his head before this one came out. Very sweet of you guys for doing this for your dad.

As far as the religious twist my dad has been a youth pastor then pastor since 1985 so it was not really just "put in there" but rather his faith in Christ is his paradigm for life. He sold it to pay for seminary. My dad talked about this car for as long as I can remember, always saying he would buy it back if he could find it. Well last year I began the search because since I was little, its always been my dream to buy it and restore it back to him. After MONTHS of trying to find it we finally found it in the deep swamps of Louisiana then after arranging the purchase we brought it home to Roanoke VA. The moment of shock and tears on my dad's face will be the greatest memory ever! Finding the car, getting the money and getting it half way across the US with no problems is truly a blessing from God! God fulfilled his promise of Matthew 19:29!
The car is not currently running. But we are taking it apart to have it painted soon. Unfortunately the car was not in working condition because the previous owner had sold the original engine out, and never put anything back together, so we are working on getting the money to put this car back on the road. Due to my Moms recent two brain surgeries money has been tight.

my family lived from paycheck to paycheck when I was younger and my dad had a 2 door 66 impala that was his baby I can remember riding in that huge car and I can remember the day he had to let it go so we didn't loose our house. I wish I could give it all back
+Monterastelli Terryl My dad sold this car to help pay for Seminary. He is now a minister and I am thankful to God to have had the chance to give it back to him. It is just a car however a material token of love from all his children, he has ten, 9 natural one adopted. He and mom struggled to pay for all of us kids on a ministers pay but they made it work, thank the lord for the dollar menu. Dad has said the only repayment he desires is to be loved and respected by his children. not trying to be presumptuous but i am sure that is all your father really needs. Your sentiment towards your dad speaks volumes about the quality of dad you have!

Sandy Collier ?? I think some don't like the recording of special moments for public veiwing but or intention was for all the kids to have access to the video. We have ten kids and only one video so CZcams was the best choice. It was a surprise when it hit 10s of thousands of views. Now 2.9 million, it blows mind!

Wonderful video, it's heartwarming to see kids buy their parents gifts like cars, but it's that's special when they track down and find the classic they used to own. These old cars have character.

Now, because I am a cantankerous old coot I must correct one thing in this beautiful video. If a car has two doors it is a coupe, not a sedan. Okay, enough of my being a jerk. Again, a wonderful thing for your dad.
Lar Gand actually in the pre WW2 cars a coupe only had one row seat. No back seat. Sedan were either 2 or 4 doors. The lingo changed after the war late 40s to 50s. Why do chicken houses only have 2 doors? They don't like sedans! This chicken coupe. "Bad dad joke of the day." Have a great day!

+Zac Attack Well Dad has 10 children, 9 by mom and one adopted, so yea there were a lot of cameras. We had no intention of putting this video on CZcams
for over a quarter of a million people to see just wanted the other
family member to have access to it. since this was the best video. Our
lack of pictures of the car is thus explained by this motive. Since so
many have requested to see the car we put a another video with both this
