Still she a brat I dont get americans small thing they they take it deep and call it mental health. My father was mentally ill He would drink and say bad words all the people in locality loudly beause they were bad to him this people would everytime beat him I was 5 at that time. this continued till I was 14 and he died. He was simply not mentally ill this his own father used him and didn't give him a piece of land to build a good house. So I didn't do anything stupid thing I was strong and still I am.

Gil actually scared me. The actor did a great job. When he told Georgia she was forever 19, forever 9 stuck in a trailer being abused my stomach dropped and I could understand her fear. He was going to kill her if she didn't run away. The only reason he didn't immediately after he found her is because she has money now.
like ive never been abused like that but oh my god he scares me so much especially that fight scene with georgia, the way he popped up and immediately started attacking her made my heart skip a beat. hes such a good actor
Georgia protected Ginny from seeing all of this. Everything Georgia did was for the wellbeing of her daughter, even if it was bad.

My mom was abused and her and Georgia have alot of similarities in their lives and my mom always told me she has a lot of demons in her life but me and my sister wouldn’t know half of the darkness she had to face because she wanted to keep us safe and I’m grateful for that but it ended up being damaging to my sister who was older then me and she went through most of it with my mom so when me and my mom see the show it’s like watching her life and it’s really emotional for both of us

I've seen clips, but I see so much of my own mom in Georgia in her willingness to protect her daughter that I can't bring myself to watch the actual show. She loves her so much and wants to protect her from the truth, but that's just not the right way to handle it with a kid as bright and cognizant as Ginny is. When you raise a kid to think she's safe when she isn't and cover up all the pain you're going through, your kid goes through life thinking their parent can't really _be_ hurt. Now that Ginny is growing, she's finally starting to realize that her mother isn't perfect because she always pretended to be perfect for her, but it's a lot harder for her to do that at a point in her development where she's supposed to be focused on herself and establishing an identity apart from her mom's.
You are the first person whose comment i really agree with when it comes to this show. I see so many people call Ginny ungrateful but simply bc you will go to those lengths don’t mean Ginny will ever know that if you don’t tell her. I believe Georgia loves her so much but lying or telling half truths will only bring pain bc we figure the truth will hurt more but look at the result of what lying to her/pretending for so many years did. I haven’t really watched season 2 as much as i was invested into season 1 but even then i seen her love for her daughter but there’s also an accountability needed to be understood that she is growing into a woman now who also has her own views of how she would’ve liked things to have happened. You cannot think for anybody else, even your child sometimes. As kids we need to be given the grace of atleast understanding enough to not be lied to or told half truths bc the adult THINKS it’s better for us from THEIR experience but this is OUR experience.
I think this show beautiful depicts the opposing perspectives bc they’re both entitled to their feelings & their own journey!
@@BeautyQueen-6 You're absolutely right. Ginny IS ungrateful, but that's because she's never been allowed to see what she should be grateful for. Georgia is such a good mom that Ginny expects her to be perfect because she's always been perfect before, and she's so desperate to prevent Ginny from having bad experiences that she doesn't know how to teach her how to have good ones. All Ginny gets to hear is "no" over and over from the perfect mother, who can only be perfect in an environment she has total control over. To a young person who is biologically compelled to gain control over herself, there is no course but resentment and rebellion.

@@tatertots3337 I think Ginny has known Her Mom is not perfect. Not sure if you saw Ginny’s account from the first episode. She was always the responsible one while Her Mom was always messing up, causing them to move. She was already bracing herself for a crap show preparing to move again when they arrived at their new house in season 1. What child has to tell their MOM ok, I have to be on time for school? Yea She was fun but She was irresponsible.Also, nothing to be grateful for when you find out your Mother MURDERED someone on your behalf and you don’t even know why, or messed up you and your little Brothers credit illegally and again claims it’s on your behalf??!! 🤷🏾♀️ on top of the resentment of always having to up root and move all the time because your Mom screwed up in that town.. again. @@BeyonddBoujeeI don’t think that face was in reaction to the bruises, but Gil’s possessiveness in pulling her in. You get the closeup of a closer family dynamic with Georgia Gil and Ginny afterwards. Gil is basically showing Zion that he’s taken it from him.
it’s not really easy to talk about this things and plus she said on the show she was scared that his family would take away Ginny from her since she gets involved in a lot of criminal activities but off topic the actor who played gil (older and younger) is so hot
It just dawned on me (25, 26 in 2 months) that not only am I closer to Georgia’s age (30/31) than Ginny’s (15/16), I’m also closer to her current age then there’s flash back scenes when she has an entire 4 year old (19)

I’m sorry you went through that. Mine did all open hand contact, so there wasn’t any bruising. I just got out recently. Realizing he’s gonna do that to other girls, just like my birth father (stopped seeing him at 5) is still doing. It’s so sad. Our justice system is so messed up in US. My birth father has been arrested several times for beating women. He actually knocked out my step mother’s teeth and left her with a very puffy and terribly bruised face. I remember the pictures. Haven’t even thought about them in so long. I’m only 23 now… but I see why people end up with abusers and why they stay. It’s scary. Your nervous system is all messed up. Don’t know how to feel anymore. Lose yourself without them. But mine really amped up the abuse the last week we were together. Keeping me trapped in his house and hurting me over and over. I would love to see him rot in jail. Because he would’ve murdered me or seriously injured me if I stayed. So it’ll probably happen to another girl. His charm and good looks are poisonous. Everyone looks past the red flags and calls the victims crazy… He’s not so charming and good looking when he’s sitting over you with his hand on your throat.

I know this girl who just got married in winter 2021, and she found out she was pregnant in winter 2022 okay. Sooo a few months before that her husband was telling my sister and I that he tells her that's she's fat, and that's she should go the the gym. And I was like...BRUH U GUYS JUST GOT MARRIED! (IN that time it's was a few months before they would find out she was pregnant, and later there 1 year anniversary ) LIKE SHOULDN'T U BE IN THE HONEYMOON PHASE? HE SAYS HE TELLS EHR THAT EVERYDAY?!? That was me 20 years ago.
We were young we had a kid and money was becoming tight. Things were said and I decided to move to my own apt. After a week or so we couldn’t stand to be without each other. So I went to pick her up and the baby. While doing this my life changed forever. I was coming up the stairs to her sisters house the door was open. They didn’t hear me coming.
All I heard was
“ girl don’t tell him what you did”
My heart sank smh…
And she comes out as I get to the top of the stairs and smiles and kisses me it was like a movie the Kiss of deep betrayal.
Later that night after everything eating together sex watching movies I wake her up in the middle of the night. And I ask what did you do?
She wouldn’t say so that’s when I got angry and I starting hitting and hurting her badly. And she said it…
My friend who lived around the corner from us she slept with him but not only him his dad also. I went red. I tried to take her life and the only thing that stopped that was our kid woke up in the other room he crawls out of the room crying.
We lived in apt building someone overheard it and came to help they knew me and a lady came out of nowhere and I’m crying and telling her what she did to me. My ex is beaten she grabs a knife tries to come after me after what I did to her. And I left and she left also
Fast forward after that night we get back together things were never the same it was waiting to fail.
There’s this one day that sticks out I had to pick her up from work this was days after and her boss came out to the car looked at me and asked her was she ok. And she sighed and said yea and we drove off.
I felt like completely shhh till this day It’s still with me. While she’s moved on and had 5 more kids after that by different guys.
I’ve relived that day over the years it haunts me because I haven’t forgiven myself I wish I could have walked away but I was so mad she did that to me. It was the first time a girl ever did something like that to me. And I never cheated on her when I had opportunities to in school I didn’t because I wanted to really be with her..
We’ve talked since those 20 years we even had the one last night time several times. Last time I cried smh I was weak what dude cries during doing it. I just knew she wasn’t my girl anymore and that would be the final time forever.
Ahhhh that scene took me back to that place.
What did I learn? For all the young people who actually read this….
Life is so messed up but don’t let anyone make you do something that’s gonna make you feel like shh for a long time. You have to let someone go if they hurt you badly. You can’t strike out.
Life isn’t fair when you think you have everything perfect in the background what you can’t see can be a problem.
For the guys only.. never lose the money if you in a relationship with kids involved you can never not be the bread winner of the house because the moment you do lose the money or U can’t put anything on the table your replaceable.
I never tell that story because it breaks me down but it is worth it cause someone anyone I hope this helps them.

As someone who was physically abused for years, I detest you for what you did. It just leaves a person with years of trauma and mental illnesses to unpack, I would know. Of course it was never right what you did. Could’ve just got up and left, she wasn’t worth anyone’s energy and time. But it seems like you’re atoning for your past sins, and that’s more than I can say for a lot of abusers. Can’t say you deserve forgiveness, but I commend you for realizing your faults and what you did.

Ginny's father is the guy sitting on the side, looking at them open presents and everything. The other guy who is close to Georgia is Gil, who is her new guy. But he had been abusing her and to cover up the bruises, she used makeup

It's a show called Ginny and Georgia. The show does flashbacks, as a way to reflect why Georgia is the way that she is and why she made the choices she has. The white dude is named Gil and he abuses Georgia. This is the first scene in their flashback relationship that shows why Georgia doesn't trust Gil when he resurfaces in the future. When she is taking off her makeup she is showing that she has bruises on her face. Zion the black guy knew something was wrong, because of knowing Georgia so well, but didn't know to the extent. Zion is the father to the little girl in the scene.
