    AWESOME!! just a cool fact someone told me. when the man who built Luna Park Sydney was looking for a new coaster around the 50s he went to America and rode a wooden wild mouse and loved it. so much in fact he bought the design . he built 3 units. the first went to luna park and the other 2 were scattered around Australia. however both units were moved to a 3rd world country. his 3 wild mouses are now the last 3 wooden mice in existence. or at least that's what I was told.

    hey you finally went, fun fact about the wild mouse it is one of 2 wooden wild mouse coasters that have been protected, you see this wild mouse coaster when luna park was abandoned before becoming a protected site the wild mouse coaster was moved to moore park where the Sydney cricket ground is it was only moved back when luna park was re opened as a protected site, the ride itself and most buildings in the park are protected by the state meaning that if luna park ever went out of business by law it would either have to operate as a museum or continue to operate as a park.
    additionally the big dipper originally opened in 1935 as a wooden coaster and is actually a collection of roller coasters (3 i think) known as the big dipper the orginal 1935-1988 the new one which is the one in dreamworld it lasted from 1995-2001 and the new one 2020- now

    Is Luna Park that rare park in Australia that allows GoPros? It appears most Australian parks are universally strict on loose articles

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před rokem +2

      This park allows chest mounted Go Pros on their rides, but they don't allow any other mounts or items to go with you (includes glasses with a strap and items in pockets).

    So how is 'mild' vs 'wild' decided? Alternating? By request?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před rokem +3

      They alternate. There is a separate queue for each mode.

    • @ollieliell
      @ollieliell Před rokem

      we alternate based on queue length. often, we’ll do two wilds one mild

    6:07 not to be nit picky but that’s a dive loop, though rcdb calls it a reverse sidewinder

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před rokem

      Thanks! I'll see if I can get that fixed.

    • @Rolla_Costa
      @Rolla_Costa Před rokem

      A reverse sidewinder is a dive loop which starts as a half corkscrew, then turns into a dive loop. That means the entrance is 90° from the exit of the element.

    • @WCfanboy
      @WCfanboy Před rokem

      @@Rolla_Costa that’s still a dive loop, it just turns 90 degrees, no one else says reverse sidewinder

    • @Rolla_Costa
      @Rolla_Costa Před rokem

      @@WCfanboy well it's a special type of dive loop due to it starting as a corkscrew. Most dive loops only have a small amount of turning while the inversion. Not even close to 90°.
