Perfect message. Perfect words. Always loved that scripture ~ (among many!!), and one I memorized many years ago when the 'battle' intensified.
Difficult to deal with struggles that go on and on... but encouraging to be able to Thanks be to God, offer it up for many & much!!
Fr. Mike's Homily was beautiful yesterday as well. Fitting, as per his usual forte. 💛🙏✝🕊

how wonderful that this comes perfectly timed for many.
I am very sensitive to my female cycle, in this one the first two weeks were great, I prayed a rosary everyday, ate healthy, fasted, did sports, was gentle. then it became more and more difficult until now, where I haven't prayed much for days, eat junk, am easily irritated, tempted by sin and have very low energy. But I know that it will be better again and that I will regret it if I fall into sin. Thank you for uplifting me!

I have for a long time tried to understand this scripture passage. I have wanted to understand what St. Paul was experiencing in this moment and I know there is a deeper spiritual or theological truth in it.
I do understand something of the pride that can easily come as God begins to reveal Himself to a soul. The process of being humbled necessarily continues in us because as Garrigou-Lagrange said so well... the higher the branches of charity God wants to grow in us, the deeper the roots of humility must grow.
Embracing the cross means to embrace our weakness. We would like God to show his glory to the world... but God continues to choose to remain hidden in earthen vessels, which remain beset by their own weakness. And through it, God continues to humble us... but also continues to provide opportunities for us to remain surrendered for love of Him through embracing the cross. And it is the surrender that allows God to come close because we attract Him through resembling in some small way, the Beloved.
Weakness is also exposed vulnerability. And this is not comfortable for creatures who dwell in the world that is continually engaged in the power struggle of "my will be done".
Still God is always vulnerable because Love is by it's nature, utterly vulnerable. "I am yours and you are mine."
God revealed this by being incarnate as one of us, through a powerless and helpless babe. It is the utter surrender of God within His own union of persons. The Gift of God, wholly given, wholly received and wholly returned. This vulnerability is no different than a woman who exposes herself entirely in order to receive a man. We must learn the most important and fundamental spiritual lesson from a woman who returns love as she receives it... and ask Mary for the grace of becoming vulnerable... so that her Son can come close.
Because we know, if God comes close, then the power and authority of God can begin to manifest themselves in and through us. And perhaps even more simply... if the Love of God remains in us... then the efficacy of our witness remains strong.
Weakness is our pathway into the embrace of God through our surrender. And embracing the cross is the only way to get there.

Pyotr Leflegin. My friend go to mass when you are on your knees in front of his body and blood ask the lord to please let you know he is guiding you to be close to him. He will do it in a way you will only understand because his grace is sufficient for you. Don't let your doubts take you away from the Lord. Cry if you have to. Cry out all your doubts and your weakness. Give them to him. God will have mercy on you. Don't give up. Have faith even when you don't quite understand what is having faith

It’s not an idol. Images and sculptures of Jesus and his disciples, mother, and saints are NOT worshipped but remind us of God and his glory as well as remind us to worship him ❤
