Since this game got announced the first time I:
-Started my first full time job
-moved out of my parents place
-met my now-wife
-moved to a different country
-changed jobs twice
I was still in elementary school when Prime 3 came out. I just graduated from college 2 years ago and also moved 2 different places. Looking for my 2ndjob now haha
I have literally spent my entire life waiting for prime 4
I had just been married for a few days when it was announced. Now, our son is almost six and he watched this with me.
But everything needs to be stopped for a moment for this masterpiece unfold
I got my own place with my gal, I was only 2 years out of High School, working my first job. I don't even like Metroid and I got excited for all the fans.
I didn't scream when the letters appeared, but for a solid 15 seconds I did forget how to breathe
Same. It took my brain a while to reconnect to my motor functions.
I just stared at my screen repeating "this isn't real" like he did
I screamed holy shit out loud aat work, and was shaking for a whole minute
I got goosebumps when the title was revealed just chills sucks I was at work when I saw it but dmannnn
I was fumbling around looking for my jaw... I understand how ya feel.
Between this, Dread, Pikmin 4, and TTYD remake, I think Nintendo is constantly trying to give Arlo a heart attack.

When the camera started rotating around Samus at the beginning I was internally screaming "GO INSIDE THE HELMET, DO IT ALREADY!" and then it went into first-person and I died happy
It is a small detail, but it is also such an iconic part of Metroid Prime. I remember playing the first game as a kid, and when the camera flew into the helmet and suddenly it switched to first person, it blew my mind. It felt like such a cool way to transition from cutscene to gameplay.

Two decades.
After nearly TWO. DECADES. of build up from his debut, Sylux is finally here as a primary antagonist in a Metroid game. The hype from this aged Metroid fan could not be more real.
Like Dread, Prime 4 took 19 years to happen. Ain't that a bitch?
Same director and some of the det team also worked on those other Prime games.
I don't know how Nintendo would do it but they need to bring a remaster of Metroid Prime Hunters to Switch! That multiplayer was my childhood. That and monster hunter and Mario kart on DS/3DS

@@grantchoitz1420I logged 1,000 hours in Prime Hunters online multiplayer. I was in middle school. Used Neoseeker forums to play with people😂 Would KILL for a modern remake of that, multiplayer and all. The single player mode of Hunters was “meh” but it is still a decent game.
When Samus first appeared, I said. "Oh, it would have been better if the "appearance" jingle played.... Only for it to come a little after she jumped down and I apologized for ever doubting their timing with it.

And then the “butter cream on top of the icing” they put it into first person right after. Honestly 10/10 reveal. Surprise, timing, and the game reveal itself was all perfect

Was hoping for a remaster/remake/sequel of Kid Icarus Uprising, but admittedly Prime 4 is *too* important to not be excited about - it’s *the* game of the generation

Seeing as how they didn't end the Direct with the new Legend of Zelda game, I knew it had to be something massive and Metroid Prime 4 certainly fits the bill.

We (at least I) wanted louder direct volume, not mic volume. But people weren't specific enough.
I want to highlight the music. The subtle guitar riff when Sylux shows up is great and that chill song at the end with the release year is miles above over any bgm in Dread, it seriously reminded me of some of Prime's best songs like Phendrana Drift!

The guitar riff REALLY reminded me of Rundas’ boss theme, and personally I think the Metroid ost and guitar like that go together REAAAALLY well. And yeah that ethereal music at the end…beautiful.

The only reason this trailer made me cry was because I could hear my late brother's cheer this game finally is coming, he was so excited for it but sadly he passed away 2 years ago, legit died waiting its been so long

I remember where I was, when I saw that first announcement in 2017. I was at the first open E3 in 2017. I was in line, to get into the convention hall. One person shouted "OMG Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4!". So me and a group of other people surrounded this one guy, and we saw that teaser trailer. And all of us, lost our shit. We were High-5ing each other. Saying "Omg finally we are getting a sequel to 3".
I like that we all just collectively remember Sylux as 'that guy'
To be fair, if you didn't ever read the instruction manual for Metroid Prime: Hunters, you probably would've never been exposed to his name. Despite being one of the main rivals in that game, as well as being teased to be making a return in the endings of a couple other Prime games, I don't believe his name ever actually came up in any of the games.

@@eitang.6292 The scanning is probably right, yeah. In my defense though, Hunters is the only Metroid game that I just didn't like. So while I did beat it, I was basically just going through the motions. Heck, I even preferred Metroid Prime Pinball, and I'm not very into pinball.
But either way, that game came out ages ago. So it's very easy to have forgotten a character's name. Heck, I think the only reason I even remember Sylux' name was because of the ending of another game that made me go back to that manual to double-check his name, at which point I committed it to memory because he suddenly seemed like he would matter down the line. Whereas I couldn't tell you a single one of the other hunters' names.
@@gurvmlk It’s probably fine if you didn’t remember, I only do because I played Hunters for the first time recently. And yeah the campaign is kinda mid- I can totally see how this game was originally a multiplayer title only lol
@@eitang.6292 It wasn't even the campaign I disliked. I just couldn't enjoy the controls. I found them to be so awkward, and so much of the challenge came from simply feeling like I couldn't aim properly. Heck, some of the bosses I swear took me an hour to beat without dying, and not even because they were challenging, but because I simply couldn't hit them. Making the whole game feel obnoxious to play because I didn't like how it felt to play, regardless of the game's actual content.

Genuinely thought it was going to be a Mercury Steam Fusion remake, since they've talked about wanting to do that.
@TallonIV581 Honestly Super Metroid aged pretty well, all you'd need to do is probably just update the controls. It was a bit cramped on original hardware trying to run jump and shoot at the same time.
Dread is nowhere near like Fusion. First, it's not scary. Second, Fusion had way better soundtrack and third, Fusion has a good plot that doesn't feel like an afterthought that explains nothing about the Chozo or why they vanished.
I wish I could be as happy about anything as Arlo was about a Metroid trailer.
I imagine Arlo making a live reaction with a camera on his character, but when the numbers appears the puppet just flies across the room into the wall. 😆

I'm really curious how MP4 is gonna approach movement/combat. Prime 1 2 and 3 are a pretty direct adaptation of how old 2D Metroid games felt with their, slower paced, stop and shoot combat. But the modern 2D Metroid games (Samus Returns and Dread) have adopted a much faster run and gun style of combat, with emphasis on movement and melee counters. So I wonder will Prime 4 follow in the footsteps of 1 2 and 3 with their slower style of combat, or will it be like a fast paced movement shooter like Ultrakill or something?
