You make a great point here that I haven't heard anywhere else with PSR. The rules seem to try to create stability around cashflow which is needed because most clubs carry large debts. What if you aren't using debt to run the club? The risk is greatly reduced, so is all of PSR needed? Allowing debt is honestly the problem. American sports leagues don't allow it, which is why Americans will continue to flock to european leagues

The structure of this deal and it being with Juventus makes me nervous. They were penalized previously for the Pjanic/Arthur swap deal for inflating numbers. Have to trust we are a more professionally run organization and we are doing full due diligence with 3rd party evaluations or whatever it takes to have documented the player values are accurate

Terrific analysis Dan! I feel that, strange as it may seem, Dougie isn’t quite what Unai wants in his midfield, even though he is an absolutely fantastic player. And his tailing off when Kamara got injured maybe exposed a weakness in his game
we will have to see whether Weston and Ross B can fill the gap or whether there is still a plan to bring in someone like Mr Connor G

I agree with you on Luiz. I read a very telling interview with Luiz recently where he spoke of improving under Emery and his working relationship with Kamara and how much he relied on him. He admitted how difficult it was when Kamara was injured foe him as he had to play deeper. All of which I appreciate, McGinn has struggled with covering for too long.
But when I look back over the latter half of the season and my discontent with Luiz, those moments had little to do with covering deeper and more to do with a lack of leadership, energy, intensity and just going MIA. And I too have seen Emery urging him to think, to pick up his energy and focus from the sidelines. I believe Luiz has it in him to meet Emery's demands but perhaps its not in him to sustain it consistently.
I think this is why we are happy to keep him but ok with selling him too. As sad as it is because he has been a big part of us getting to where we are, it's time...

I read that though it’s effectively a swap, technically we will probably get 60m for luiz and then pay 40m for their players. Because of the way the rules work, that means we immediately get 60m to balance the books and the 40m is split over the length of the new players contracts

Great video. Some really good points- if we sell cash and Duran can we keep Luiz?
