    I have asthma and used lots of antibiotics for lung infections which made my lungs weak. Plus I smoked which obviously is not good for asthmatics. But I did give it up. I got aspergillosis and my specialist put me on 50mg of prednisone which he reduced to 25mg and I was on prednisone for such a long time. Steroids did no good at all. Still had the aspergillosis for a long time. I knew I still had it because I used to cough up something that felt like cotton wool plugs. I finally got rid of it by accident. I took a capsule that was an anti fungal that is supposed to get rid of thrush in the vagina. I coughed up a lot of very bright green phlegm and ever since, no recurrance of the aspergillosis. I think I contracted it because I am a keen gardener and opened potting mix without a mask which I have since been told is a big no no for people with weak lungs. I have been diagnosed with bronchiectasis and fibrosis which I have had since 2005. I take ventolin, seretide and spiriva every morning. I am also combating it with exercising and clean eating which is helping a lot though it is very hard for me to breathe when I walk uphill. Not too bad on a flat surface. I also did an 8 week stint at the local hospital doing pulmonary rehabilitation. Guys if you are going to talk to your patients, PLEASE explain in detail what can happen to them if they don't do what you ask of them. I was never told what could happen with the excessive chest infections and when I was told I had bronchiectasis, the doctor never told me how serious that was. He didn't explain what bronchiectasis was. I have had to research all my information myself. Thanks for reading this rant.

    I was just diagnosed with this officially about 15mins ago. I've had Hyper Ig-E Syndrome since birth and have 40 years experience coping with it well enough to have a somewhat normal (but active!) life.
    The abruptness in which an allergic response to the aspergillus triggers an asthma attack is scary, and nebulizer treatments do NOT help. My oxygen saturation tanks within minutes despite meditative breathing exercises and medication.
    This video was hugely informative and is thoroughly appreciated! Thank you!

    I have been trying to figure out what the illness my mother is suffering from for the past year. The dr would diagnose and prescribe antibiotics every time. She would get marginally better then within a couple weeks hardly able to breathe, constantly coughing and exhausted. Recently she began coughing blood, became extremely swollen to the point that her eyes were almost swollen shut. With the extensive list of antibiotics she had been prescribed including clendamycin hcl, and the length of time she had been suffering with little or no improvement, it was apparent that it was neither bacterial nor viral. So I began to look into pulminary illnesses caused by fungi. Chronic Pulminary Aspergillosis fit her symptoms perfectly and I began persuading her to have her dr investigate it. Her dr was not interested and once again she was prescibed antibiotics... One month later she was so ill that she had to go to hospital. An initial xray was all they needed to diagnose pneumonia. they gave her anti-inflamatories and 3 different antibiotics. By day 2 she was still in the same boat, I began pushing again for tests for aspergillosis because of how every peice fit together perfectly. Including her poorly maintained farm environment (chickens, goats, rabbits) that she is unable to keep up with on her own. I asked repeatedly for days to get a ct scan and biopsy. The third day they found orthopneumovirus in her sputum culture and declared it the cause. Previous days sputum samples had not yielded any such findings yet they were convinced this was her only ailment. I was told that they had not but would definitely get another culture to check for possible fungi/mold. I was handled. By day 5, she was worse although they believed her swelling was decreased. I showed them recent pictures of her to show that she looked seriously 30-40lbs heavier than her normal 130lb self. I explained that extreme cases of aspergillosis causes bloody sputum and then enters the bloodstream and causes massive swelling before it becomes fatal... That seemed to finally sink in. A ct scan and brochoscopy/biopsy were ordered. The CT scan showed 2 seperate ball shaped masses consistant with aspergillosis. When she went in for the bronchoscopy, the performing dr (5th dr involved) said to her in an extremely hateful manner "There is no way we can do this! Your breathing is not strong enough! It is definitely cancer!" and he simply walked out... Long story short, one mass was constricting artery into the lung from the heart so a stint was placed on day 6, brochoscopy/biopsy completed on day 8. Today is day 9, results from biopsy will not be back for 2-3 more days. The 5th dr again today said "It is definitely cancer, there is no type of fungus that looks like this. We have not tested for it because there is no need. I know what cancer looks like when i see it. What medical proffession are you in???" he then scoffed at me when I tried to get him to look at the 10 plus images of ct scans from patients with aspergillosis that looked almost identical to my mothers. He proceeded to say that she was probably going to die and that the radiation treatment they have been offering since day 6 is the only thing that may save her... Keep in mind, I had to spell aspergillosis for him on day 3, they do not have the results back from the biopsy to determine what type of cancer it may even be and the hospital in particular is an enormous "Cancer Institute". I am trying to find a dr in the Eastern United States that is experienced in this field. I am not in any medical field. I am just a son trying to save his mother. Any help would be beyond welcome!

    • @williambarry6438
      @williambarry6438 Před 4 lety

      The Dr made it very clear that he would not speak to me... I tried to get him to compare ct scans from cadavers that were misdiagnosed with lung cancer but had in fact lost their life to aspergillosis. He became very agitated. He shouted/asked me what medical profession I was in. Stated several things (still shouting) that there was no fungus that looked and behaved this way in a persons lungs. That he knows what cancer looks like. That she definitely had stage 3 cancer, only the radiation treatment they had planned might save her life and that he would not talk about any fungus or other treatment... I was very respectful, never raised my voice nor did i return his snide behavior. From there my hands were tied completely. I was told around a dozen times that the dr would call me. Never received a single call back. My aunt works at the university and she was the only mediator they would speak to. They talked her into "trying" radiation a week later... she was only having difficulty breathing while swallowing food at the time, talking, laughing, smiling and looking forward to coming home and seeking another Dr. Immediately after the first radiation treatment, she had to be put on a ventilator and could no longer leave. They also began keeping her sedated because she was "very agitated". Dr refused to allow her to use the medication I bought her to tackle this (viscum album, artemisinin, prunella vulgaris, sovereign silver bioactive silver hydrosol, candex candida cleanse, and mushroom defense formula with reishi, chaga, maitake, shiitake, and turkey tail). Combined, these medications are known to be more effective at killing cancer than radiation, attacks fungal, viral and bacterial infection and balances a patients immune system (boosts underactive and lowers overactive). All with no side effects to a patients health. My aunt said she would make sure she got these meds. Instead, she gave the list to her Dr and he said no.
      Once she showed the slightest ability to take some of the load off the ventilator they began more radiation. Every treatment only hurt her more. After 2 weeks it still had no affect on the mass they were targeting. Because of this they then determined they would finally do more testing "to see if they had missed something". They never did... Instead they continued radiation and determined that she had to be placed into an induced coma. That night her kidneys shut down (NO kidney issues prior EVER). I inquired to the medication being used to induce her coma as possibly causing this. Again I was met with hostillity and fed "definitely not, her body is just giving up". They continued giving her the medication the entire day until she was dead the next morning... Through it all and even now, all I keep hearing is what great care she received from University of Louisville Hospital.

    • @williambarry6438
      @williambarry6438 Před 4 lety

      Hospitals are a double edged sword. You cannot get a proper diagnosis without them and cannot get proper meds from them. My mother's fear was that she would get stuck in there and be unable to escape. I could not save her from it...

    I am afraid I have a kind of fungus infection in my lungs/body. Chronique fatigue and must have developed a long time. My eosinophils are at zero...third time in a row when they checked (within last year). There's mold in my flat. Doctor laughs and sais it's rare but I took symbicort for my lungs so long and the Sputum looks...like someone should investigate it.
    Any explanation for no eosinophils at all?
    Edit: there's also a hemolysis going on that made last measure unreliable+ high leukocytes (13000 normal value for me and they raise to 24000 in weeks when I feel very sick and not just sick) ..I look sick pale af and that's not just the I haven't seen the sun in a while 😥 my doctor's went on vacation and left me with that.. I guess they saw worse values.

    I am here because i have itchiness over all my body especially in my chest and arms and i have high value of IgE and my chest hurts and lungs. I cough and feel difficulty and heaviness in breathing. Few months ago i had blood spots on the places i used to itch. I also have Asthma. I went to the doctor in germany and she is super stupid she just gave me a lotion and told me that she doesn't know what is going on because she doesn't see anything on my skin and no tests could be done because she can't isolate the problem 🙆‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
