Still can't believe it, such a great loss
Sammy was 45 years old here. Hard to believe how good he sounds at 45 and still to this day. Has always blown away Dave vocally. Of course Eddie was virtuoso at any age. RIP
Eddie had some dark days in the 2000's, versus his own high standards. But I'm still amazed how he was at the peak of his performance skills in 2015, even if his peak creativity peak had long since passed. Certainly the consumed substances factor in - help creativity, hurt performance.
Hard to believe he's in his 70's now
Sammy still rocking in his 70’s.
@@markinwa5884 Agreed
@@markinwa5884 Yes I have seen some of the 2015 concert footage and 60 year old Eddie is just shredding like a beast!
Sammy voice is stellar!!!
Not when he's badmouthing Eddie Van Halen like he did last week.
@@jacsig That's a separate issue. The topic is Sammy's amazing voice. I'm not into high school girl "badmouthing"
@@themayor6836 It is an issue becuz if Sammy runs his mouth and makes Alex and Wolf mad, you can forget any chance of a tribute tour.
Sammie has been singing like that since his days with montrose.a solo project, chicken foot,he's amazing I'm a singer, guitarist, lead vocalist, front man.just an amazing guy.godbless you always Sammy, your my inspiration.you rock!
@@jacsig what’s he been saying? I haven’t heard anything.
He's playing straight through the amp with no effects and still sounds like EVH.
It's s guitar,.. with effect, reverb.. actually, what did you expect him to sound like?
Legend.
I will say even though it's a totally different style and I know Eddie respected David gilmour man but when I first learned 15 years ago that the famous solo from another brick in the Wall was actually played first of all on a Les paul, and then straight through the mixing board in the studio with no amplifier whatsoever and we all associate Gilmore with the strat so many of us thought he played that solo on a strat for several decades and when you listen to it again it's like whoa but in any case both of these guys are so pure as artists and musicians that even though they settled with certain guitars and pickups and amplifiers they would sound like themselves even on a discount acoustic guitar from the thrift store
thrifty is as thrifty does
Playing a Parker Fly guitar considered among the better designed guitars with a lot of innovations.
My goodness this guy was the master of guitar. He was the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place. So easily he played it & made you feel like you were part of the song along with his playing. R.I.P Eddie
RIP Edward and thank you for giving me inspiration since I was 12 in 1978.
❤
Well said
Me too, exactly.
same here but austria
I was 12 in 1978 as well. 👍🏻😎
This is the clearest example I've seen of how heavy handed Eddie's picking and fretting is. This is a crucial aspect to his sound.
So much is in the hands... in the "touch". Many learn the notes but not the "touch".
Amazing rendition. Miss you EVH Mozart of my generation.
This is INCREDIBLE. True professionals here folks, UNREAL...
The kiss at the end says it all. Brothers Forever.
My gosh ... Neither of them needs an amp ... Pure heaven. We miss you Eddie.
Whilst both of them are using amplified speakers...
Still hurts. Van Halen was such a huge part of my life. I stayed hunched over a guitar my whole life and still cant do Ed worth a shit. With Extreme sadness, Blessings to the Family. RIP KING EDWARD
But I but Eddie's proud no matter how you did it you just stuck with it proud of your boy
Evh is a character not a real person
Legends never die man
Sooo much talent in this video. EVH tone is amazing and Sammy voice!!!
Awesomeness! Rock n Roll will never be the same without EVH.
Ps: a FU to the six individuals who gave this video thumbs down
It's 8 idiots now. Fucking morons
The 10 are probably tone deaf DLR lunatics.
👋👋👋👋😃😃😃
The people who gave it a thumbs down are probably Jimi Hendrix fans. Dummies. Hendrix is overrated.
@@gigitonsvajv Agreed.
Every time I find a new video of Edward playing guitar I feel sad that I will never hear anything new by evh again but it makes me happy and I find new videos thank you very much to the person who put this up if you find more please post I am 66 years old I grew up with Van Halen they've been my favorite band my whole life I was devastated to hear that he died thank you again
Really cool to see Ed playing a stripped down guitar. Put a shoe string on a stick and he'd make it sound great.
Blessed to see him and Sam jam like this!! 😇😇
That's a Parker Fly guitar before they were even on the market I believe. They're one of the most advanced electric guitars ever, so advanced it can sound just like an acoustic
bobowrath; thanks. I was wondering what kind of guitar that was. Pretty cool.
Two of the best at the top of their game! Red Rocker and Eddie Vanhalen will never disappoint! RIP Eddie 🙏
First time I’ve ever actually seen Ed playing a Parker Fly! 😮
I love him playing it without distortion
The Masters. And I'm not talking about golf. ⚡🎸
And thank God they're not wearing those hideous Green Jackets
@@sturay7842 😊
Those guys out on the putting green could only dream of having this level of freedom and creativity and performance even though I respect that they play a sport and make money but this is a whole another thing man
Eddie is, I don't think there's anyone else out there in HIS league. R. I. P. EVH #1 FOREVER.
This is golden, how does this not have millions of views and like. I really enjoyed, thank you.
Musical excellence from two masters of Rock Music. Very few artists are this brave to play without affects or a full stage of other entertainment. It speaks volumes and we won't see much of this in the future of music.
True .
amen
The bravery
Plugged straight in with ZERO EFFECTS, EDWARD still destroys anyone else DARING to even pick a guitar up!! What's even.more amazing is the fact that Edward totally sounds like EDWARD!! Proving that TONE indeed does come from the players hands and nothing else
Ed is really tearing up that guitar on Best of Both Worlds. Love those in between verse noodles.
Fabulous! These guys were great! Love to watch Eddie play.
Greatness at its best,in writing, singing absolute playing at its greatest, we miss you !
A True Legend
Edward Van Halen
Rest In Peace...
A Parker Fly?!? I mean, I knew he had fooled around with them before but I've never seen him play one - most certainly have never seen this before. Thanks Voo!
I thought the same thing, good call on the Parker I thought it was a Hammer at first, It us so odd to see Eddie play one lol, those guitars have the style like something you would see the tonight show band guitarist use in the 90s, it just needs to be purple and teal.
Also played a steinberger parker fly was used on this tour only
"Tune in to what this place has got to offer.... "
My favourite Sammy lyrics.
Sammy sounds brilliant!!
R. I. P. King Edward. Another Great Moment In Time From You !!!!🤘
Didn’t know Eddie ever played a Parker Fly. Cool video!
So cool to see them both play clean through their amp, mic'd to the house PA. Heartbreaking that Eddie didnt get to have the kitchen sink reunion he hoped for. RIP ELVH 🎸🎶
Ed’s rhythm playing was freaking awesome
Eddie Van Halen,, the only guy that can smoke on school grounds without being suspended.. >:}
😂😂
Wow,thank you! Never seen that and never get tired him. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I could sit and listen to Eddie Van Halen play guitar all day!!
Eddie and Sammy were really great together showing respect for each other by giving each other a kiss on the cheek awesome I know they had differences but together they are great we all know Eddie's awesome great on his own so is Sammy but if they just could have stayed together and got over there differences it would have been incredible rest in peace that he love you miss the hell out of you
To live at the same time as these guys was a gift from god
amazing! Txs for posting
Eddie on a PARKER! I'm keeping mine forever...2002 Parker nite fly natural.... AWESOME GUITAR!
Could do without the camera effects...Sammy singing is phenomenal and Eddie is always amazing
The only guy here who needed effects to cover up his lack of talent :P
What a great video they both sound awesome .Edward can play great no matter what he uses and they really were good together and just such talent. What a great video of Sammy and Edward.
Que placer es escuchar a Eddie, aunque ya no esté en esta tierra. Y con ese vozarrón de Sammy, que mejor 🙏🎶🎸👏
Funny to see that cig hanging from the guitar with the ultimate result. One of the greats....even in absence.
Not funny man he couldn't put those cancer sticks down
Spanish Parker Fly...awesome!
This was awesome they were both great together the loss of eddie really hurts have to keep listening ❤
He is such a great singer
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸
This is pure Van Halen. Ed & Sammy in happier times & days. "Spanish Fly" on a Parker Fly guitar & "Best Of Both Worlds". It brings tears to my eyes when I see that happiness & to know that it might never happen again make me undeniably sad.
Virtuoso, Musician, Composer on Almost unattainable levels, talent like this is Divinity
Heaven has him🎸❤️🇺🇸 🇳🇱🦅
❤️thanks for sharing.
Come on man!!! Is there anybody better than Eddie . No F*cling way!!!!! God rest your soul my friend. 🎸
omg, I love this, two of my favourite musicians of all time right here, RIP Eddie, we miss you
It's 2024 and still missing you Eddie!🎸🎵🎶❤
Probably one of the better performances 🎭 👏 👌
The Magic Pair. Never before. Never again.
I LOVE the DLR years, but seriously...can anyone see Dave comin out like that and doing such a high quality vocal.
Yeah good luck with that!!
That’s to much for DLV😂😂
Nope!
Sammy is a pro. I still groove to Montrose I and Paper Money
Two completely different animals
February 9.2022 I Love you Eddie.❤️
Wow Hagar had a voice! Still does.
I’m just greatfull EVH came and gave what he did in my life time . Immortal!
As a fan, you'd have never got this from Dave and Eddie. pure magic.
RIP EVH... 🔥🎶💙🌹🎸
Thanks Wolfgang
This is Awesome
I just miss l mean look up the Dallas free show
When you can get up there with unfamiliar gear in an impromptu performance and kill it like it was nothing - that's raw talent. Sammy's voice was spot on.
2 of the best ...!!! Genuine guitar hero, rip EVH..
Sammy always gives Eddie a kiss they got along so good in the beginning I know Eddie's hard to get along with Sammy really loved Eddie he said it all the time he still says it to this day even though it is gone forever thank God we have their music rest in peace Eddie Sammy you rock brother
They really were such good friends. Sammy knew all kinds of other artists, including Neil Young. This is such a cool and rare performance. Ed probably would never have done this without Sam.
Priceless!!
how did you get the feed from the soundboard?! Do you have the piano songs as well?
Una rareza y un gran momento un gran cantante y un guitar hero 🎸👍🎶 gracias 🎧
Dayum! Eddie playing a Parker Fly!
SO GOOD!
Miss him!!
The best of both worlds, heaven right here on earth....
Man there is nothing to hide behind with that piezo setup, still sounds amazing
What a great Rock voice!
EVH was from another Universe!
Like Beethoven 👍
This had to be a great show to have seen
This is so great
Precious
Spanish Fly on a Parker Fly. amazing!
I remember this night. It just so happened to be on the same night that Eddie was on Val's tv show on NBC, then during the local news they showed some of this and im like OH CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have been there!!!!!!!!!!! Had no idea they were playing that year. I have a vhs of the whole show so ive seen it now anyways.
it seems like yesterday and so damn glad I have loved these dudes for soooo long!
Holy shit, I was at this concert! For some uh, reason, I remembered him playing "Eruption" but things were kind of, uh, hazy. ;-) If any of y'all saw a large guy with long hair doing the "We're not worthy" bit from Wayne's World...that was me.
Cameraman took “zoom in on the guitar” too literally
God bless the soul of the best friend I never met. Miss you Ed.
You can really hear how heavy handed evh is!..... 😎
Guitars are funny, take a stratocaster a telecaster or any bolt on style guitars in general. You really have to dig into it in order to get the tone where as with a les paul or glued on or neck through guitar, it's more about finess but you gotta whack em too some times. Ed was the master of tone more so than anything else including how revolutionary his style was then. Because of his attack, tone and his signature licks he would sound like Ed on a $ 50.00 first act guitar or a 5k Wolfgang. RIP EDWARD....
WOW!!!!!
Really, really, really nice

That was f#&king amazing!!!🎵🎵🤙 A masterpiece of music , from a Master Musician.... We truly lost a Rock-N-Roll legend , October 6th 2020 . 😪 R.I.P Mr. Van Halen.🙏
That school was witness to a greatness they never will see again. (hear)
Props to Eddie, but Sammy is killing it on these vocals. It's perfect.
I understand what people say when yes I never knew Eddie personally, but I’m so sad he is gone. The planet is not the same. I know it’s weird, but I never got this upset by a death of someone I never knew. He was so awesome!
Bons tempos,
Sorry anyone know what year this is? This was pure greatness. Its a shame egos get in the way of great bands.
1993, at Neil Young's annual Bridge School benefit.
Always thought that it was EVH's alcoholic paranoia that really broke the band. I think the guy was afraid to make any kind of move, in any direction because he had cooked his brain in booze and coke. I've seen it happen to others before with alcohol and drugs. Really, really sad. When was EVH supposed to have been sober?
1993
@@pookiepookie8669 Eddie wasn't truly sober until 2007. In 1995, he claimed he was sober, but as Sammy describes in his book, Eddie was hiding his alcohol consumption, even from Valerie.
It’s SO cool seeing Eddie play a Parker Fly.
RIP Eddie vanhalen
