Trying to shoot like the great Efren Reyes | Your Average Pool Player

  • How many tries does it take an average player to do what professional pool players do on the first try? Your Average Pool Player tries to recreate Efren Reyes' insane 10-ball shot.
    After a number of unsuccessful attempts, Rollie slowly learns about spin transfer between the cue ball and the object ball. Efren Reyes' knowledge of the game is incredibly deep, but Your Average Pool Player? Not so much.
    Thanks so much for your comments, let us know if there's a particularly hard shot you'd like us to try.
    The track used in the video is 'Rest' by Otis McDonald: • Rest - Otis McDonald |...

    People can actually do this with proper training and knowledge about the angles and cues but the thing is, Efren made this shot during a game with the last ball at the stake! That's just absolutely incredible!

    • @baseballgenius3
      @baseballgenius3 Před 6 lety +4

      Srdjan Luzajic part of the problem is pool pockets are like magnets. It’s hard to miss a ball in pool. On a snooker table it’s hard to make a ball. Pool is a nice intro, then you move to snooker when you’re ready to graduate.

    • @josefernandez4423
      @josefernandez4423 Před 6 lety +22

      oh come on here we go again with the snooker is better than pool bullshit argument. only fucking kids do that. fucking bullshit.

    • @baseballgenius3
      @baseballgenius3 Před 6 lety

      a couple examples of the kind of positional play that snooker players utilize out of necessity. Note that they are doing this because they need to in order to keep the break going. This shot from reyes, while impressive, is entirely unnecessary, just manufactured for fun. Would love to see an amateur try some of these. czcams.com/video/pCylqbuL078/video.html and czcams.com/video/5ox5Ckzq8Gk/video.html

      haven't seen a 500000 dollar snooker betting game 1v1 televised. :/ you're not considering other factors dude. stop comparing, those two are totally different... what the fuck? like? badminton is harder than table tennis? swimming faster is harder than diving beautifully? what else? checkers is harder than chess? oh yeah absolutely... pfft... i bet you haven't played any of those two cue sport in a tournament.. nonetheless don't compare apples to oranges kid..

    • @baseballgenius3
      @baseballgenius3 Před 6 lety +2

      Beyond not sure what the betting has to do with anything. Snooker is bet on heavily, though always in pounds so maybe that’s the issue for you, though not really relevant here. But yes, there are clear distinctions. Badminton requires similar skill levels but more fitness, so harder. Swimming similarly requires skill plus fitness, diving primarily skill. Chess is absolutely harder than checkers, no one would argue that, it’s far more complex. The gap between snooker and pool is smaller than those but it’s there. Larger table, smaller rounded pockets, and rules that require more elaborate planning and precise ball control. Cheers mate

    There is a legend in our town at Taytay Rizal Philiphines in the mid 70's witnessed by my uncle who is now 68 years old about a crazy money game about the best pool player in the north province named Efren Reyes and the beast of the east province of laguna.. Backed up by the politicians from both sides! they are so far apart so they must meet halfway in our town.. With a bad table with so many damages! it was the night in the month of july.. the funny thing is there was previously a storm that just passed and flood was evrywhere so they play with above knee water! Efren gave his opponent a handicap of 27 in the game of rotation! (27 for his opponent and efren must make 93 to win) that is why many politicians from laguna bet on their guy! bec he is the best from laguna! they play for 7 racks and final score is 6 to 1 efren! he only win because efren did not make a ball on the break!! since there was so many money to bet they agree to play again! this time his opponent must make 45 and efren needs 75 to win! but the condition is the last ball efren will make must be on the side pocket!! final score? 5 to 0 efren! That is how good Efren is at only 18 or 19 years old during this time! Every time my uncle tells us this story it always tickels me and wish that i hope I have witnessed that legendary man! this shot shows how he can manipulate balls and shoot in the side that we dont know it ls even possible!! hope there was cctv during those days!!! THE LEGEND!!
