Classic TV commercial for Maypo, a brand of instant maple-flavored oatmeal cereal. It was originally manufactured by Maltex Co. The catchphrase "I want my Maypo" became so famous that it inspired the "I want my MTV!" slogan. This commercial stars baseball great Mickey Mantle, football legend Johnny Unitas, hoop star Oscar Robertson, Ray Nitschke, basketball's Wilt Chamberlain, baseball's Willie Mays, and footballer Don Meredith.

I remember this product being advertised on TV in the '60"s.I don't remember seeing it sold in any stores in my hometown.
I remember as a kid that I ruined a 1966 New York Yankee yearbook by writing I WANT MY MAYPO over Mickey Mantels face in his page in the yearbook.

This stuff was heavily advertised in the late 50s.
We usually got Honey horse or Quaker oats with mushed up brown bananas or berries we'd pick when they were in season, none of that hoity toity Maypo in our house. Did they have a bourbon flavor for Mantle? Lol!
I remember eating that. They still make it.

@@bartobruintjes7056 But Maltex is the manufacturer, not the product here. Maltex was just ex added to the Malt food company brand when it was purchased by new owners to distinguish it from the prior owners. Malt is just a word for dried grain.
