The thing is I don't want the cycle time to be shorter

Haha, right. I just got in a drill/bore bar. Sucker measures 0.970" and can drill/bore up to like 2.2"depth, so far, I must say. I do enjoy overall using them! They work well, and cycle time wasn't much of a issue. By the time tbe first pass goes by, I'm running low on coolant recirculation. They really need to pull my entire tank, and clean it. And any screens or filters that could be clogged.
Must have for any lathe machine. I do have ones but they are from another manufacturer and are solid carbide but these tools are #1 time-savers

So how would you go about programming that tool? Do you program like a bore bar and -X values?
Use differnt tool offset so like T0606, T0616. Same tool slot but different offsets

sooo, you're using the whole edge to cut? not just the point? can't you do the same with bit #4 on the left example?

I have just bought this tool. Trying it in aluminium. Full flood and through tool coolant. Boring yes. Drilling - not good. Terrible surface finish!
