This is why I can't get behind ACAB. Are there police who abuse their power? Yes. But there are so many who are just trying to be guardians of the peace and defenders of the public trust. Pass laws to make it easier to remove the corrupt, and doing away with civil asset forfeiture and qualified immunity, would do SO MUCH to clear the way for decent officers like this to flourish.

If he was rude or otherwise disrespectful to her then there would be something she could fall back to in her mind about some kind of (perceived) injustice had been committed against her. Instead, the officer has left her with nothing to blame on anyone else but herself and the opportunity to merely sit and reflect on her own wrongdoing. There's no need to be harsh or rude. Just acknowledge to the accused that you believe they committed a crime. That you witnessed it yourself, and now they have to deal with the consequences. No need to dehumanize. All humans makes mistakes. But humans still have to deal with the consequences of those mistakes.

The ex-wife never paid a dime of her required child support, EVER, but in our county, men are being arrested and given jail time every day for "non-support". When my son-in-law asked a Deputy DA why his ex-wife wasn't being arrested and forced to start making her court required child support payments, he was told, "We don't arrest women for non-support." It's refreshing to see at least one woman was being arrested for an act that any man would be arrested for.

If you live in an area with relatively low crime and drive a beater for example, you stand out like a sore thumb and you'll get messed with. I was a police officer for several years and I didn't mess with anybody who didn't bring it on themself. That said, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, you can't get mad if someone thinks you're a duck

Man she was lucky. That cop was one of the more calm understanding ones. Good on how he handled it and rightly enforcing the law. Makes no sense this woman thinks she's above it due to her personal agenda.

This woman in the first was incredibly lucky to meet a cop that was so willing to talk to her nicely , so many people didn't have the same chance as her, especially with that arguing
Most cops talk nicely for the first 5 minutes or so but when the criminal exhibits extreme stupidity it makes the cop lose his cool.

Arresting someone over a stolen sign is a complete waste of tax payer money and the officers time. The girl was clearly wrong, obviously, but now that theft of a $10 sign costs the county even more.
That first video was everything I hoped for, watching someone whose never been held accountable in their life be held accountable. I really hope they press charges and didn’t fall for the fake tears

It's the kind of thing any law-abiding citizen should love to see. Justice being served and laws upheld that promote a safe society where we can express ourselves freely without being robbed to any capacity.
