Darling, please re consider on taxes. To decline professional service, it means you "leave money on the table". It is far too expensive to consider doing this. For example, did you get the Saver's Credit in 2023? Ask the nice lady what the dollars are? Is your business a hobby or actual business? If it is an actual business, can you use Form 8829? Oh, you can? Does it help you by reducing tax? Believe me, over time, you can improve but not by someone trading for cuts and color.
I like how you point out that breaking down the $500, into $17 a day may seem more doable. Psychologically, it made it feel much easier to accomplish for me. Great tip!

I do that. How? I have two bank Accts from two different financial institutions. As soon as I get paid I go to one bank and withdraw a large Amount of paycheck (leaving some for everyday bills). Then I go to the other bank and deposit it into a savings I never touch. This way I have less cash on me for, and more savings for real needs and cannot buy much. And doing this, I am about to become debt free after being over 20k in debt
To save on movie subscriptions, I get a free month of Netflix/Hulu once a year and binge on the shows/series I want to see, then cancel before they charge me for the next month.
The breaking it down into small numbers is great. It makes it seem possible rather than big numbers that seem so unreachable. I am sort of becoming obsessed with these videos to help me keep this modest spending going. Between these videos and the Ramsey show, I am realizing I don't need what I want most of the time. I am loving going to a store to buy something and only leave with that something, this is hard for me at a grocery store but I managed that yesterday. I always find myself wandering around and then buying stuff I didn't plan on buying and don't actually need.

This is actually something I might write. I have wasted so much money with Amazon and eBay that when I look back through my purchase lists I cringe. The positive is that I have stopped buying unnecessary stuff that I wouldn't have given a second thought to in the past and, like you 2023 is a No Spend Year!

A friend took my lists and bought the groceries. After a while I realized I was saving a lot of money. She was sticking to the lists. Evidently I hadn’t been doing that. You are right. May I add to your list, do not save your address and credit card / debit card info anywhere. Make it so you have to find the card and retype the info for every single online purchase. Also, see if your grocery store has an app with digital sales flyers / coupons. I plan meals around the weekly deals.
It is the little changes that become routine habits that matter. I regularly pay in cash and empty my purse each week of coins and save them up - this makes a couple of pounds a month! I liked your point that if you have treats all the time, then they cease to be treats. I like real tea (not tea bags) and coffee (not instant) , for example that I make at home. Recently, due to being mega busy, I ran out. Felt very deprived for three days - yet it had got to the point where I didn't realise how delicious it was. Rather than order it and wait a day or two for delivery I actually drove the shop (in another town) to buy some more!
I'm doing it thanks to you, you made me think about the fact that I don't need to continue to buy things that I don't even use, I had a hording problem actually and it made me very depressed all did was buy things thinking it would make me feel better it did for a moment then it wore off, I even wanted to buy a classic car a fifty nine Cadillac but friends and family talked me out of it thank Goodness..I don't want to ever do that again because it made my life hell.😓😓😓.Im glad I realized it's okay to not have everything!!😁

I just did a minimum spend January. I don’t have mortgage or debt etc but food in the U.K. is so expensive. meal planned around a freezer full of food. Surprising what you can live in. I treat it as a game where it’s me versus the greedy.

Using an inexpensive bicycle to get to and from work has saved me a lot of dough. And if I'm too tired or the weather is $hit I just bike to the train station and use mass transit.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my budget but. ..Definitely over spending on snacks and fast food. I work alot and my work can be stressful so I think it's due to stress eating and feeling I never have time...😩

(I had no accidents/offense: a clean record) Same old song and dance no results. When I decided to go car less, I dropped them with no explanation. It was two policies, renters also. They continued to send me their brochure even now 4 years later. They did me wrong, I didn't owe them an explanation.
I don’t have a car now but keep up my driver’s license for $8:00 a month. I have a clean record & would have to go back to zero if I didn’t keep it open.

One thing about Amazon I noticed too is that it's easy to accidentally sign up for prime. I'm usually very careful about that kind of stuff, but something must've gone wrong & I had to have accidentally clicked something. Fortunately I realized it & canceled immediately, but it made me wonder if anyone else has done the same & didn't realize it in time (or ever).
Omg! I canceled my Amazon Prime membership! I don’t even know how many years I’ve had it and they charge my card annually and I don’t realize it until after the charge, yet until now I hadn’t made any effort to cancel it. It is now canceled!!! It feels like a weight lifted off me! I wasn’t even using all the stuff that came with it. Netflix is next. Thanks for these great tips!

I get everything ordered from Amazon prime from groceries to essentials. Amazon Prime is 100% worth it. Gas prices are also insane where I live. Considering I sell things on Ebay I know how expensive shipping can get and we're getting 2 day shipping on most items for $15 a month totally worth it. Save a ton of money not having to drive to get what I need.
Wow I live in Europe and it is crazy for me to think that people pay for Amazon Prime if you can have free delivery anyway. In my country we have a different marketplace like Amazon and you have to pay like 10 USD a YEAR to get free delivery but for orders above around 10 USD. Also, you can invite around 8 or 10 people to that so they can have free delivery over 10 USD to and still I know more people who don't have it because they don't need it than people that are. I thought Amazon Prime is something similar. 50 dollars a month? what a waste of money!

Your Amazon Prime tip resonated with me, but not for the reasons you might think. I live in Australia and work for the Post Office. You’d be amazed how many people say this when they collect their parcels, “I can’t even remember what I bought!”
There are also apps like shopkick, fetch, and ibota to help us see a small return on our purchases. Just don't buy stuff you don't normally buy. Great vid, Nicole!
I live in small town Canada.The 14.99 i pay per month for Prime is a steal.With very limited stores i do most of my shopping on Amazon including some grocery items.Free shipping plus all the Prime movies,tv shows and documentaries save me almost 150 per month compared to cable tv.Then i get all my news and weather thru my 20 dollar Alexa....

Entertainment and eating out are the first things to go in the trash. Watch out for " up sells " . The company I was with if a customer said I can get a better deal at ### we would say that's good go and get it. The theory is we may have lost a customer, but we will gain another from ###, thinking they are getting a better deal from us. We didn't play the price match game.
Well the problem isn't so much that they can't, I live on a fixed income and I would have $420 a month if I saved $17.00 a day and I can't do that. The problem with many people is they live in affordable housing that is isolated 12 miles from any city social contact and no hourly bus route and they need a car that they cannot afford in order to live there

$500 is almost half my fixed income per month. The other half is bills that are non negotiable. So how do I save $500/mo when I need it for food? I don’t eat out. Cut my own hair. Don’t drive unless I have to. I’m not sure how to do it.
Yeah I don't think you can save that amount. I suspect she choose that number because it is the minimum in my experience needed to see rapid options (24 months total time frame) And she likely knows it can't work for many but by talking to those it can work for she has better odds of keeping viewers....

I cancelled Amazon prime today, because of poor packaging of my purchases. I was spending 800 a month extra on stuff I didn’t need.

Your Amazon Prime tip resonated with me, but not for the reasons you might think. I live in Australia and work for the Post Office. You’d be amazed how many people say this when they collect their parcels, “I can’t even remember what I bought!”
There are also apps like shopkick, fetch, and ibota to help us see a small return on our purchases. Just don't buy stuff you don't normally buy. Great vid, Nicole!
I got into fetch last fall and I am challenging myself not to cash In points but to save them up!
I live in small town Canada.The 14.99 i pay per month for Prime is a steal.With very limited stores i do most of my shopping on Amazon including some grocery items.Free shipping plus all the Prime movies,tv shows and documentaries save me almost 150 per month compared to cable tv.Then i get all my news and weather thru my 20 dollar Alexa....

I think saving $500 a month is a challenge I'm up for. I am attempting to be more frugal. I am 43. I started saving in February of this new year.
Online shopping!!!!! Dam it !! Delete Amazon like she said if ur so desperate people will go the shop or make do . I’m great at saving without Amazon I could be better !! Last year alone I exchanged crap off Amazon that I don’t need for the same price as a luxury holiday!! Go figure ???? We recently combined our house and one car for insurance...PLUS changed providers and saved $1300 a year. I kid you not.
I have 1400 a month. It goes on bills , groceries, petrol and power, etc. Im lucky to sometimes save 40 or 50/ mth
Entertainment and eating out are the first things to go in the trash.
Watch out for " up sells " . The company I was with if a customer said I can get a better deal at ### we would say that's good go and get it. The theory is we may have lost a customer, but we will gain another from ###, thinking they are getting a better deal from us.
We didn't play the price match game.

Well the problem isn't so much that they can't, I live on a fixed income and I would have $420 a month if I saved $17.00 a day and I can't do that. The problem with many people is they live in affordable housing that is isolated 12 miles from any city social contact and no hourly bus route and they need a car that they cannot afford in order to live there
Also may I thankyou for keeping me company on my last flight as I downloaded the whole channel to binge watch my way to turkey !! 😂

$500 is almost half my fixed income per month. The other half is bills that are non negotiable. So how do I save $500/mo when I need it for food? I don’t eat out. Cut my own hair. Don’t drive unless I have to. I’m not sure how to do it.
Yeah I don't think you can save that amount. I suspect she choose that number because it is the minimum in my experience needed to see rapid options (24 months total time frame) And she likely knows it can't work for many but by talking to those it can work for she has better odds of keeping viewers....
