Thanks! I've watched every video you made for the planes I own, and they have helped tremendously. I recently purchased an FMS Viper 70mm V2, because I believe it will help me tune my skills for the Freewing F15, and Freewing F16 Thundebird edition. When I maidened by Viper, I had watched enough to set everything up correctly, however, in light winds, I didn't sufficiently anticipate the plane stalling on a turn. I thought I had enough thrust to get through the turn but did not. I anticipated other factors as the cause (a hot wifi signal interrupting reception, problems with the used receiver I had in the model). Basically it hit the ground and the nose broke off. I've since repaired it, changed and reoriented the receiver, and this time I watched you video that discusses stalling this plane. I was ready in maiden #2 to try again in light wind (

Thanks so much Robert! We really appreciate the super thanks donation.
Your experience is precisely why we showed how aircraft stall and how to recover from stalls. The thrust to weight ratio on the Viper 70 (FMS variant) is so high that it's relatively easy to power out of a stall and get airflow over the wings again. It's super common for people to unfortunately stall this jet out and wreck it - and if these videos can help even a small handful of people save money and have more fun flying, then it's worth it for us to continue producing them.

What we want to do is show you that it can fly *and* show you that you can fly it without wrecking it too. Because knowledge should be shared, and flight / aerodynamics is hard enough already.

We don't fly from a location that has grass that's suitable for flying, and Vipers are already well-known for handling grass well. This one should do even better with the shock absorbing landing gear, which should make it a good model for anyone regardless of where they fly.

Rather than using percentages like Spektrum, -100 is full deflection in one direction, 0 is centered, and +100 is full deflection in the other direction. @TwoBrosRC  Před rokem +1

We'd highly recommend finding pavement or smooth dirt to fly from. Grass is terrible for many reasons, most of which relate to the amount of stress that the uneven surface causes to aircraft gear and the mounts that hold them in place. There is no perfect grass jet - the only thing that's come close for us to being usable on grass is the Viper 70mm and Viper 90mm.

Definitely wouldn't recommend it. No idea if it's safe or not, but you'd be missing out on a ton of thrust. Get 6 cell packs if you're planning to fly a 6 cell jet - flying it on underpowered thrust is far more likely to cause a crash.

Since it is his first jet he would not miss the extra performance of the 6 cell. I had a Motion Rc Rebel 2 70mm that ran on 4 cell. This Viper weighs almost twice as much so I guess a 4 cell would not work. I'll probably give the kid one of my 6 cells.

Your comments on accelerated stalls are useful, but not entirely correct.
An airplane can stall at any airspeed, any attitude. Stall is a function of angle of attack, not airspeed. The wing load factor has a huge impact on stall speed, which is why a stall in a turn or with abrupt control movements (higher load factor) is more likely. At 60 degrees of bank, the load factor increases by 40 percent (and along with it, stall speed). A stall at greater than 1g load is an accelerated stall.
