  • Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. Book 8 of my Discworld read-through. The first book in the Watch series.
I’m reading Terry Pratchett’s full Discworld series, but as well as fantasy I read sci-Fi, horror, crime and thriller, contemporary literature and old classics.
I’ll give most things a go and I try and mix up my TBR as much as possible.
Weekly uploads that as well as the Discworld, will cover the other things I’m reading and let you know a bit more about me.
Thanks a for stopping by 😁
    Be seeing you.

Terry Pratchet has a quintessentially English sense of humour - a wonderful gift to the world.

Couldn't agree more. The man is sorely missed

You recommended this one as a good starting point for the Discworld series, and your review did well in selling it even further 🙂 Bought the ebook, just not sure when to start reading it. My TBR is so massive already... 😀

@@allthekingsbooks That genuinely makes me happy, I really hope you enjoy it. It’s pretty short and easy to read so it’s the kind of thing you can slot in easily enough. Please let me know how you get on 😁

A group of swamp dragons is called an "embarrassment". Guards! Guards! may be the funniest novel I've ever read. He really hits his stride with this one (and I'd argue the next 2-3 Night Watch books).

@@AdamsLeftyBooks oh very much so, and possibly even more than 2-3. The watch books are my absolute favourite sub-series.

One of my favourites, I always recommend this or Going Postal as the best first book. I like how the watch books always introduce new people and races to the world.

Yeah, me too. A lot of people say Going Postal is a great starting point, to be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the Moist von Lipwig books first time around, mostly due to him as a character. It'll be interesting to see if I feel different in a re-read.
