I had a thing with a kiwi guy, he was from papatoetoe... he spoke about it all the time. He moved to London but didn't seem all that happy here to be honest. Its interesting to see where he was from.

I lived in Papatoetoe from about 1964 to 2002. It's certainly changed a lot in the last 20 years - heaps of roller doors now, and the whole place looking quite tired and worn out. That Lil Abners takeaway at 6.58 has been there since at least the late 1960's!

Ah crazy how some of those shops change - but the odd one never does!

I was shook the first time I saw vehicles in the left lane - I drove in England in the 1970's and had no problem making the adjustment to the left side driving -- but adjusting to the insane English drivers? That adjustment was harder.
Astounded at all the glass with no signs of broken glass with no signs of metal shutters, and the relative lack of pedestrian traffic. Streets and sidewalks are amazingly clean (compared to any large US city).
Also noticed the total lack of graffiti. You can't go anywhere in NYC without seeing it everywhere and as high up as people can reach.
Would love to have you give some commentary with these walks...
If I had the $3m, I'd emigrate in a heartbeat...

Interesting comments mate. Strangely enough this suburb is in the south part of Auckland - which is stereotyped as the most run down area!
