I wonder why there aren't more superhero board games based on Marvel and DC properties. We've got Heroclix which is awesome and the various card games, but not many traditional miniature based board games. I really wish there were more. The ones that do exist vary in quality of course but there is such a huge wealth of material to mine.
yeah this is one of the few channels i visit daily....i have not bought and have bought games based on these guys.....they are straight shooters arent asshole critics they just tell it like it is....
I can understand a lot of the mechanics, being someone who has played the video games, but the overall gameplay seems really lacking. It looks like Cryptozoic got a lot of funding for this one from Warner Bros. Hopefully this one gets marketed in stores like Target and Wal-Mart, otherwise I don't think it will do very well. If it's marketed to a general audience, I think it will do pretty well.
I have to admit I started watching this video expecting an awfull game intended to sell just because of the hype of the videogame but with really poor mechanics and ideas. Even though I didn't like the art and design of the board very much (I enjoyed the cards however) it seems to be a very interesting game. Not deep? OK. But is has some nice ideas in it and it seems thematic for me (concerning Batman's universe not the game). Very good, Tom. Nice review.
Box size can be obnoxious and i have close to as many games as tom...but i keep them...i mean look at TIDE OF IRON or my favourite HORUS HERESY.....DOUBLE the size of batmans game! But i get were tom is going with this
hey i just bought this game and im not sure how to set up all the cards.. can you help me to do that, please? i mean there are terrains cards and gargoiles, villains, combat.. which one should i put together etc etc thank you :)
You set aside gargoyle cards and ally(blue) and mix 5 hero riddler cards with 5 villian riddler cards. You shuffle them before picking 5 so you don't know what you get. Then place them riddler cards face down on question marks on game board. Villain player has all purple cards on his side to draw from. Batman player has all black combat cards to draw from. Plus Batman player chooses cards for utility belt, the yellow cards that have gadgets. Then ready to go. Both draw five cards to start. Does that help?
i agree with all of Toms negatives....the art is bleah...come ongive me some NEALADAMS, ERNIE CHAN or DICK GIORADANO ART instead....andtha tbox is OBNOXIOUSLY HUGE! LOL LOVE the game though!
Didn't find this fast, and real unbalanced, batman got slammed and crippled even with a 3 pointer. Possibly the worst written instructions I've read. And a lack of YT videos on how to play, cos damn those instructions. Will try again tomorrow, but this might even get sent charity shop at this rate.
This is one review I will disagree with. Box size alone is unjustifiable, and in the few games I have seen played Batman has never won. There is just too much villain advantage in this game.
Why didn't they just call him Mad Hatter? Why Jarvis Tech, it's not like they called Two Face Harvey Dent or Poison Ivy Pamala Isly
Exactly what I was thinking.
Love the influx of superhero themed game! I would like to see Tom's take on Iello's Guardians Chronicles. It look like to could be amazing.

Who doesn't love a game about an extremely rich businessman beating up poor people?
penguin?
Never been a fan of Cryptozoic...but this ALMOST looks decent. Maybe with some better components too?
0:42 what's that board game on the right with the film reel cover?
I wonder why Jack Ryder is in the game but not THE CREEPER? (his alter ego and one of my favourite dc characters ever)
actually tom you have to EQUAL or GO HIGHER than the Villians number....just to clarify
Did they make a review of that game?

Looks like it's great for fans of the video game.
Are you guys going to review the Bioshock Infinite board game?
was looking for a good version of city escape from sonic adventure but this is good too i guess

Did you figure it out?
nope, i tried to mix the cards with some rules but none of them worked :c

5:08 AHHHH!!! thankyou Batman Begins for mispronouncing his name, now everybody mispronounces it
Looks ok but I'd pick Legendary Marvel over this game personally.
