    Great Video as always. You and Nanette are always great at engaging with the people at expo’s. Definitely find those interactions are what show someone willing to assist rather then just sell the animals.

    Number one tip: Bring a lot of different bills for change 😂 I vended at my first show last month, And completely blanked on change, I only had like two 1$ bills and one 5$ bill so I kept having to ask my covender for change.
    It’s one of those things you don’t really think about until your first customer buys a 5$ springtail with a 20$ bill 🤣

    • @SupremeGecko
      @SupremeGecko  Před 2 lety +1

      Excellent point. I know EXACTLY what you mean. I didn't cover some of the basics (lighting, money,... bringing the animals :) But great point. PM me on FB (Wally Kern) if you get a chance. I would love to find out how the show went and if you would consider adding Supreme Isopod Chow to your sales items).

      @@SupremeGecko The show was super fun!! Last November’s Rexpo I got to help a vendor selling feeders and dry goods and it was awesome. This time was my first time selling my own stuff (I just brought springtails and rice flour beetles and some leaves to get a feel for selling stuff!)
      I didn’t get to sell isopods this time, because dumb me forgot to apply for a permit!! But next Rexpo I’m vending is in November and I plan on focusing on powders and creating new powder morphs. I’d love to offer your foods, I’ll message you when it’s closer to the show time? You and Nanette are just such amazing and generous people, I just love how humbly and respectfully you share knowledge and advice!!

    Most people would put a QR code on each species and each food and each substrate,
    and all the QR Codes would be the same and all just go to the homepage.
    I am so happy to know there is more than 1 human on earth, who actually makes use of QR Codes the way they SHOULD BE used.
    Being able to scan a QR Code at a trade show and save a screenshot and/or shortcut of what you are interested in, is a massive form of respect of the persons time.
    I hope people you are rare for doing that and appreciate it.

    Hi! We are going to a reptile show to sell our pods in February. What permits will we need? I watched your video about the forms but the USDA changed the whole format in September of this year so was hoping you could point me in the right direction?

      I haven't checked the APHIS / USDA requirements since doing this video (as of course, I have my permits). You should start with APHIS site to see what the new requirements are. www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=afb3c85ab0b72683JmltdHM9MTY2Nzc3OTIwMCZpZ3VpZD0wZmRmODAyNS1mOWY1LTY1NjgtMTNlMS05MDExZjg4YjY0MDQmaW5zaWQ9NTE3Ng&ptn=3&hsh=3&fclid=0fdf8025-f9f5-6568-13e1-9011f88b6404&psq=aphis&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYXBoaXMudXNkYS5nb3YvYXBoaXMvaG9tZS8&ntb=1

I am going to an expo in just a few weeks hoping to get an isopod for my bearded dragon enclosure (my research says Armadillidium vulgare) I will be getting enough to create a culture as well (to go with my 3 scaber cultures...My expos don't get many isopods so it will be lucky if I find them (maybe I will have to start vending after I get more species)

    Do you need a permit to sell at a repitle show?
    How do you find reptile shows to go to?
    Whats the average cost for a table at one of these shows?
    Just got my new settlers a couple days ago and they seem to finally picked a spot in their new world to settle down.
