    5:02 the EV compensation tool/button at the back of the camera makes up for that kind of exposure. Also, its light metering is center-weighted. You can actually lock the AF/exposure by half pressing the shutter button.

      Thank you for that added info! I wasn't too keen on using the expo comp because the joy of shooting a P&S is the lack of thought necessary for its use. Alas, it still remains that there is a more trained use to made made of this little powerhouse.

    thanks, I was interested in the camera but after seeing how it meters i'm going to take a hard pass. I had a T2 once and it got stolen but now their just insane to replace so looking for a good point and shoot that doesnt cost 1k

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 2 lety +1

      One guy had a comment about Exp comp, but that just defeats the purpose of a point and shoot. If I had a T2, I’d be hard pressed to go down to a BM201 as well ;)

      @@Brandongorrie After some research im pretty set on a nikon 35ti because it literally has matrix metering instead of spot which is insane, Aperture settings, is the same size as the T2 and only costs 650-700

    hey would you recommend the best point and shoot camera for beginners? i was considering the olympus mju, however i dont like the lens it gives so much noise, i want a cleaner lens for best results

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 2 lety

      Considering the price point, excellent metering, focus, and Len quality… this is probably a great start. Mine broke recently and I’ll be picking another one up shortly as it’s just that handy to have in-pocket

    hi! do you think the bm201 work well for night shooting with portra400? or should i get portra800 instead? thanks!!

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 2 lety +2

      Good question! So the camera will be able to read the DX code on the film and expose “correctly” for both the 400 and the 800 given it’s long shutter capabilities. So now it comes down to which film you think will handle the long exposure better. Personally, I know portra 400 has a finer grain and better latitude with a more natural color rendering. Whereas the 800 will be more saturated and contrasted with higher grain!
      That choice is up to you my friend!

    Comparing this to the Nikon l35af which do u think it’s better ?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 2 lety

      I think they’re different cameras tbf. If I had to choose between the two I’d take the L35af. I don’t like the shooting experience as much, but every shot with the Konica feels like I’m breaking the camera 😂

    Is this better than the olympus xa2? Deciding which one to buy from the two

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 3 lety +2

      In my opinion, the XA2 is a much safer bet. This camera has a good lens but, it doesn't seem to have the consistency with metering like the XA2 does. I'd go Olympus if money wasn't a deterrent

    What makes the BM302 better?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely nothing! Konica released a lot of cameras in the Big Mini series during the 90s with slight differences for subjective shooting preferences. If you want to step up the game of your big mini experience, the Big Mini F has a 2.8 lens and a better build quality!

    I think if you tried being just yourself instead of yet another man with unkempt hair drinking coffee making cringe jokes and trying to be like Peter Mackinon, this video would have been informative and entertaining. 7+ mins later and I don't know much about the camera, other than you're not very good at using it yet. Also the music choice was questionable. I'm writing this because underneath the show you were trying to put on, you seem like a genuinely nice guy who is trying to learn more about his passion for photography while sharing it. It'll be nice to see a video by that guy someday. Maybe in the near future, the algorithm will direct me to that guy, till then, I can't subscribe to this. Please don't give up, just stop trying to be someone that you're not.
