    Stippling on the camo with a sponge would have completely escaped me! Can't believe I'd miss something that simple. Great stuff!

    Great tutorial video. Your video pictures are excellent. BTW Did you use studio lights to light the area for filming? Are there any settings on the Cannon XA10 you could reccomend. Many thanks

    Great tutorial, just had a question for you... My bases on my miniatures have warped really bad over time... what's the best way to prevent this from happening?

      Are they plastic or wood?

    • @TheArmchairHistorian
      @TheArmchairHistorian Před 6 lety +1

      Plastic soldiers, plastic bases. I'm putting multiple to a base however, and loading the bases up with terrain.

      What are you using to glue the terrain down? A glue that shrinks as it dries/cures can cause flat plastic to warp is the plastic is too soft or thin.

    Hi bud.... Very informative videos for us non airbrush painters. Would the different techniques transfer well to 1:35? 😀

    The tank looks awesome, I would vote for it in a painting comp ;)

    Do the German Sd.Kfz. 251, Late War. That would be EPIC thanks.

    Excellent tutorial once again. Great the way you convey simple techniques to provide a really impressive result.
    How about some early French or BEF tanks?

    Could you do a sherman painting tutorial with the army painter range of paints ?

    Looks great per usual. Have you ever considered painting blood and plunder figures by Firelock games?

      I've never actually come across those before, I will keep them in mind though.

      I'm a long time bolt action fan like yourself and I just came across them a couple weeks ago. Really cool rulebook and awesome figures. Even if you don't make videos for painting the figures, I still recommend checking them out. Super cool minis

    Nice Marder III. Another, another !

    It looks good but the red oxide is a strange choice. I have never seen the main colour removed to create camo. Nor have I seen red oxide used as camo contrast colour.
    Perhaps such things were done in Endkampf but during '42?

    • @PeteTheWargamer
      @PeteTheWargamer  Před 6 lety

      You are correct, the red oxide primer with only minimal camouflage applied was in use from around September '44 and this sd.kfz 139 was in production in '42 so the two don't coincide.
      However, with these videos the focus is the camo scheme as opposed the tank I've applied it to. I pretty much paint whatever I fancy at the time :P.
      Besides, who's to say that in late '44, the Germans didn't find a partly built 139 in a factory somewhere and pressed it in to service ;)

      The War Gamer - It does look very effective. Also congratulations for not blackening the muzzle! A mistake so often made by modellers.
      I am a big fan of the "unusual" as such items were surprisingly common - as any viewing of period films will show.
      Well done and apologies if I seemed to be negative 🤣

      Not negative at all, you made a valid point that I was happy to address my thoughts behind it :D

    Impressive considering you did not use any proper weathering products

  • @AdamMann3D

    Primer was not used as camo dude.

    • @PeteTheWargamer
      @PeteTheWargamer  Před 5 lety +4

      Primer wasn't used in applied camouflage but from about late 44, some tanks would leave the factories in their red oxide primer with only sparse camouflage applied over the top. This is an example of that. Bovington Tank Museum has a Panther painted in a similar fashion: 2.bp.blogspot.com/--6qK1y76F80/U8RTBB9Vz0I/AAAAAAAAENM/riSyYwg8zSo/s1600/P1130958.JPG
