I have an M5 but love the looks of the RS6 and could easily see my self in one. The touchscreen is close to a deal breaker for me though. My wife's car has touchscreen controls and I sometimes need to pull over to be able to get the radio station I want and the ventilation working as I like it. The smoother ride though is very attractive for just driving along in traffic on the UK's crap roads.
This is no competition for the m5 comp

Good point. Itâs not about the sticker price. A big part of the cost is maintenance and repair.
Joe's videos convinced me into getting a M car, and I am an AMG fan. Picked up a f10 M5 Comp, loving it!!!
What car did u have b4 the f10 m5? I currently have a porsche cayenne turbo and considering going for a M5
I will also go back to BMW M, from AMG C63s currently to M5F90 Comp in 2021

@@HoratioHoodoo my boss has an E63s - Iâve been allowed to look after it when heâs been away on business.. half of me wanted to drive down to the Alps, half of me wanted to bury the keys and never set foot in it ever again! The reality is that Iâd never buy any of these types of cars for the risk of ending up in prison!

The RS6 is more suitable for everyday use than the M5. If you have family and want to transport something, the Audi is the first choice.

@@Anders_HeymSR30 The trunk of the Audi is bigger and the Audi drives more smoothly than the BMW. This is always better for families than a suspension that is too tight. With the Audi you have both, the BMW is not that good even with comfort settings.

RS6 for me. Better looking, more versatile, and as fast as what you need. Probably more comfortable in comfort mode and is cheaper.

Audi Fan and Owner here, 2016 RS7 Prestige and an 2016 A3 1.8T SLine... don't get me wrong, the BMW is a great machine but the RS6 Avant is beyond this time...absolutely gorgeous, practical and diverse..you can use it as your daily ride, taking kids to school (my case and that's how I use my RS7) or to go to the track and hunt supercars.
Rs6 so beautiful, don't care about slightly worse performance I would rather be in the better looking car.
I may not like BMWâs but great đđ» job Joe on quality of video and your descriptions are very knowledgable

I understand there are two suspension options on the Audi - Iâd be interested to know if youâve tried both and which youâd ultimately recommend??
Now owned both (currently in RS6). Agree with everything Joe says. I find the RS6 a much better family car - mainly because of its ability to be very smooth and quiet. The cabin is also sharper looking and, with the sunroof, much airier. The M5 is a beast, and definitely quicker/sharper but you have to put up with that all the time when, in my experience, a 4/5 door 2-tonne family car needs a broader set of skills most of the time. Loved both, heart says M5, head says RS6. And yes, the RS6 is the best looking đ
Thanks Joe for another brilliant video. As a 2020 BMW M5 Comp driver I am of course pleased you chose the BMW over the Audi. I've not driven an Audi RS6 myself, so I wouldn't be able to comment on which is better in my eyes - but thats of course why we are all watching your videos! When I was researching my next car I did approach my local Audi dealership for a test drive of an RS6, however they were far from helpful than my BMW dealership. I was told that I couldn't have a test drive unless I only drove on B roads, had a salesman in the car next to me, plus they mentioned no more than 30 minutes in the car! BWM on the other hand lent me an M5 Comp for the weekend! I do think that even the initial contact by a car dealership goes towards you making that all important decision, and I do believe that this was why I chose the M5.
Great review. Such an engaging and relaxed style. Sadly I am stuck down the other end when it comes to vehicle ownership (M135i) but then you gotta start somewhere....
I absolutely love the RS6, however as an owner of F85 X5M (and many other previous BMW's) I know that the driving experience in the RS6 won't be as good as the M5c. Gorgeous looking car though that RS6 and sounds amazing too
Also the entertainment system which less touchscreen features on M5 works more practical for drivers, as its more accurate

Great video Joe. I have owned both brands at this level and lean toward BMW, The worry is the new M5 is too harsh and that could swing it for the Audi.

:)) as a BMW fanboy..this RS6 looks really badass..love the "Wagon" style of Audi..but while driving, entertainment system with less touch screen features would suit me better, its more pratical for me to adjust things physically.

When you first pulled away the Audi sounded like a Muscle car with the bypass cutouts engaged!!! What a rumble i heard through my earphones but Joe a very honest review as we have become accustomed to. Lovely agreeive looks to it and practical as you said but you will need adequate Conkers to own one or a very sympathetic credit dealer!!!
I really love your review which is so well considered and thought out. Surprise, surprise, I am a BMW fan, but I love the Audi RS6, not just because it's a wagon, but definitely because it has a panoramic glass roof, which to my knowledge, you can't spec on a BMW M5. Besides, I would be the guy enjoying blasts down the country road rather than ever going to a track, which is perhaps where the BMW M models are damned near unbeatable. Great video, Joe!

Good video. Well thought out and presented. Thank you. Back in the day I was fortunate enough to experience the first generation RS6 in saloon and estate format. It has really always been the estate that captured the imagination. M5 on the other hand means saloon aside from the few Touring variants that escaped the factory in the past. Which is best is a question of whether you seek the ultimate all rounder the RS6 or lean towards ultimate driving pleasure the M5. Great to see an RS6 free from vinyl wrapping and the sometimes questionable aftermarket styling adornments.

Iâm not biased to any manufacturer and donât have favourites in that sense but for me the M5 is THE KING. Iâm not a fan of ever BMW but the M5 is my ultimate dream family super saloon. Performance wise it kills the RS6 or 7

Owned BMWs and AUDIs... Both excellent brands but Audi has the edge on design and interior quality! Power and handling is kinda even on the top end models IMO!.
We choose our champions and pay our money but both are excellent driving experiences. đđŒđđŒ

If you have a dog, RS6/E63s is your choices. I guess BMW just don't think they would sell enough Touring cars that they think it's worth producing it. I think Audi is doing the right thing here, just making the Avant, realizing they could not compete with the M5 + M5 does not have a Touring. I prefer coupe over sedan over station wagon, but there is no doubt that a station wagon is a better choice if you have a dog and/or packing a ton when on vacations or frequently moving stuff (and only want to have one car).
Audi's you smile big when you look at them, Beamers you smile big when you drive them.

Joe, a trick to get around the soft limiter is if you set the car up to launch it then you should be able to rev it freely to do better sound checks.
A lot of folks that buy the RS6 are not even in the market for an estate car. It just looks like an animal from every angle. I'm also a BM fan, but the M5 does fly under the radar as far as looks go.
Great video bud. I would have to go for the RS6, looks so good and much practical for the kids/dog, but I would just hate all the touchscreen futuristic styling. Luckily I donât have a spare ÂŁ100k to drop on a car so wonât ever have to make the choice đ
