It took me five attempts to beat the failed champion and I took you 100 bro that was my first time ever playing hollow knight
as someone who has 112% in this game, beat all pantheons, beat path of pain, and all achievements, this video overjoyed me and gave me severe ptsd at the same time.

i was like 60-70 hours in before i found it, I had found the resting grounds but i thought the room was just like filler space
Yeah I saw another video where someone was analyzing the game design, and the devs actually made 4 different paths to get to resting grounds on purpose so that you can't miss it
I missed mantis claw for an *insanely* long time (yes I was using cheats to get around certain obstacles, I dunno I was just severely confused), until I reached an obstacle, a crystal dash section, that absolutely needed mantis claw, and I looked through what I was missing and realized my mistake. I recall I was aware of mantis claw at first since I always watch a lot of videos on the games I plan to or eventually buy, but the layout of the map led me super far away from it and I got in the zone of the story and atmosphere that I didn’t even consider an alternative. I also missed dream nail for a super long time because I was only aware of the crystal peaks entrance into resting grounds…that I couldn’t find.
Yeah Hollow Knight is ripe for new players to take nonsensical paths, it wasn’t until I watched a video in another playthrough that I saw the ‘intended’ way to False Knight and was like ‘mhm yes this makes a lot more sense than what I was trying to do-‘
10:10 Fun Fact: That Acid is called "The Sprite" by the community, because when Team Cherry first got their office to make games in, it was absolutely INFESTED with ants, so, being poor, instead of hire exterminators to fumigate the place, they bought some cheap sprite at a local drive-through and drowbed the ants in it.
So when they made a game with a kingdom of bugs and an acid section, they of COURSE had to design the acid like sprite, hissing and spitting and fizzing in a pale-green.
I dropped my phone in mcdonalds sprite and it started charging 😭😭😭😭😭

Pro tip: hit enemies kill them, hitting them more often kills them faster.

This video is so refreshing. Seeing how you react to the things happening. It throws me back to when I played HK for the first time. The fact you don't use spells in combat, not knowing the perfect charms, and getting lost several times. It's pure treasure. Reminds me of myself. After I beat the game in steel soul like 2 times and doing the pantheons I tought I'm done with the game, but seeing this makes me want to play it again and again. If a forgeting machine is ever invented I will play HK again for the first time and watch this video again and again. (To be fair you are better then I was. I was stuck after Mantis Lords for several days cause I didn't found the Cathedral)
I can't believe you didn't get the Howling Wraiths AT ALL, this is the most unique path I've ever seen in a first playthrough. Hollow Knight truly is a masterpiece

Unfirtunately, it was a trick, and the traitor mantises were reduced to unliving husks possessed by the infection.
I know the lore of this game to a tee, so I can answer your questions now that you have the true ending and it won't spoil you.

He was so ashamed at how he accidentally corrupted The Hollow Knight that he sealed the entire memory, and the palace, with any proof thereof, in a dream guarded by countless sawblades, so that "To witness secrets sealed, one must endure the harshest punishment". The Path Of Pain guards the greatest secret he has; that his own emotional 'weakness' Caused the kingdom to fall. And so the whole palace of sawblades beforehand is effectively a giant "TURN BACK" Sign. The only inhabitants there are those that are blindly loyal to The King.

Fun fact: hallow Knight doesn't actually have a "true ending" the developers have said each endings is equally canon.
Which makes no sense because that have a sequel in the making. So 1 ending has to be more canon then the others, the question then becomes which ending is it?

you do not understand how many hours ive put into this game and I am no where near close to being finished with it. Its a masterpiece. (5k+ hours in it)

I've done AnyRad, a couple modded bosses on radiant and I'm currently on p5 ab, but I cant imagine how I'll even spend the next 300 hours. But dude I respect your dedication, hope you'll keep on having fun :D
@@BackToBacOn alot of it was me learning the game cause i was terrible. Then the P5 was a pain, at least 400 hours cause of some dumb mistake. Then it was steel soul, thats what took up most of my time.

you couldve gotten howling wraiths and its abysal shriek upgrade which wouldve helped you alot, basicaly it shoots big range attack upwards, rly usefull
Fun fact: Sisters of Battle is so fast-paced that you can do most if not all of the fight without touching the ground.

As someone who has done everything in this game. steel soul no healing 112%, steel soul no nail upgrades 112%, PoP hitless, the first 3 pantheons hitless, and every boss on radiant, this video puts a smile on my face. I love new players getting into the game.

Great video! Love Hollow Knight and your sense of humor is great! One quick thing I did want to mention though: you seem to have a lot of trouble seeing orange enemies and hazards. You said that your monitor sucks in the fight with Lost Kin, but then you had trouble with the hearts of the jellyfish and the infected bubbles in Fog Canyon as well. You might want to have yourself checked for protanopia which is called red-green colorblindness but in some milder cases it can also cause difficulty with distinguishing between red, orange and yellow. The trouble is most online tests dont have the precision to say for sure and you might need to get a paper version sent to you. Thanks for the great video!

You've taken one of the weirdest rutes I've seen anyone ever take and the fact that you found the normal enemies harder than most bosses at the beginning is so funny for some reason. Also, I had never seen anyone use the nailmasters' abilities nearly as much as you did, it's super cool, actually. I didn't knew they did so much damage! Your histerical screaming made me laugh so hard. This was such a joy to watch, it felt like less time than it actually is! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos in the future.

Loved the video. You should really consider trying NKG. It's probably one of the best bosses in the game and once you mastered his moves you can beat him very consistently. It's a really fair fight.
Also you may consider giving the Pantheons a try. They also have some od the best bosses in the game
