the mod itself is really good but is unlucky that it gets compared to calamity alot.
@@crabodaru175 I heard it has almost the same amount of items as Cal, thorium is also pretty popular the more you think about it.

@@suluhwidyotomo7942 I mean in terms of bosses, calamity leads, and in terms of consistent quality. Thorium has really good and cool fights, and then lame and boring items, or ones that are just better versions of previous items.
i think the problem is you did eternity first. This mod like you said looks and feels like a DLC but eternity looks and feels like a mod made specifically for people who find enraged EOL as challenging as king slime

Yeah, going from Fargo's Souls to Thorium it's a ridiculous change of difficulty, I love how Thorium captures Terraria's essence, it's like the perfect mod for new players who're playing mods for the 1st time.
I also needed to use the Nurse because JESUS CHRIST, the Primordials fight it's really unnecessarily long, I suggest using The Litch's accessories called "Spirit Band" & "Phylactery", one makes it so the damage you receive doesn't go above 150 damage and the other one revives you with 25% life, REALLY useful for that fight.
p.s. I'm excited to see your Infernum playthrough, and yeah some Minecraft mods could be fun to see, also maybe in the future (idk when) you could try Mod of Redemption, it's another mod that's really well balanced and the weapons are beautiful and fun to use.
Primordials are currently not balanced for Master mode, a lot of players complain about their difficulty and so I wouldn't be surprised if their health pool was lowered next update

I think thorium and calamity just accomplish very different feels for the mods. calamity is a lot more grand and with mods like infurnium it feels like a completely new game. Meanwhile I think what thorium does great is keep the vanilla feel while adding a lot of new content. I've played both and both were a lot of fun my only big complaint with thorium is I feel like a lot of bosses especially early on rely on minions but it didn't take away from the fun. Also the classes in thorium definitely encourage team play so if you plan to play it I'd highly recommend getting a friend or two to play with you.

Hey man not a big terraria fan or player but I really appreciate you going through every little thing once you came across it. That genuinely made it more watchable and enjoyable for me who knows nothing of pretty much like mid/end game terraria and or mods in general. Watched the whole vid and subbed, love the work man

I think a mod you should try is the mod for redemption because its full of fun stuff and a unique story, plus there is a good and bad route, so if you do play this mod you should do the good route. but yea, im excited for your upcoming videos!

3:10 You can also say that for Calamity, Fargo Soul and The Stars Above (If you haven’t heard of it, it is because it is still in development and is underrated)
stars above is way too unvanilla for me to think of it as a dlc
same with calamity. fargo soul i can see it tho maybe... but its still really not vanilla terraria like thorium
calamity and stars above feel like you're playing another game(not a bad thing). Thorium just feels more vanilla compared to the other mods
I would put it this way: Thorium feels like Terraria 1.5, Fargo's Souls too arguably, while Calamity feels like Terraria 2.0, and Stars Above like a spinoff of Terraria
Stars above progression is not that good yet tbh since you don't know when you're gonna get the next weapon
@@valentino9639 Basically after you beat skelletron, you just get random items and use those to get weapons, I think there is a setting to get these faster I think. Also you can always change the damage type but it does get a 10% damage reduction
I like how this mod doesn't feel like a new master or hardmode. I can see why people like to consider it more of a dlc/addition to the regular game play loop.
I always wanted to like calamity or make an attempt at fargo's mod, just they look way too hard too me. Don't get me wrong tho, the bits of the mods i did play I loved quite alot, just I never could get far in them to really experience them. So I'm glad I got to see you play through them and I prob will give Thorium a play through aswell next time I get a co-op going.

I think watching videos with super good editing makes me stay for longer! Really well done video, and it is natural for you to think other bosses are easy because eternity mode makes your hair fall out because of the sheer difficulty

The thorium mod truly is one of the best out there and I don’t know if you have any other plans after the bard class play through but if possible (and I know it is a really time consuming thing) more exploration of the calamity mod since i didn’t realize until the other day how much it truly adds in terms of variation for classes that didn’t have much before like the summoner class.
Im pretty sure your using the starbound soundtrack a little bit in the video, and I love it. Also keep up the good work, this is better than any terraria content I could make.

in thorium mod i always make sure to get the granite biome bosses accessory. it shoots out two projectiles that light up around you, makes you require fewer torches and helps fill in the minimap.

I recently did a playthrough with some friends that included Thorium, Calamity, and Stars Above.
I did mage.
After we defeated The Primordials, I could do over 20k dps to Planterra with the Devil's Claws

My only gripe with thorium is the introduction of big instruments to the bard class because some are brain dead easy to play like the wind and brass ones but the string and drums are way too hard to keep tempo mid combat when the beat feels so weird

Thorium has always been one of my top mods. Bard class has to be my favorite added class.
Honestly, it'd be super sick if Thorium adds more to the mod so it's got roughly even time-sink and progression as Calamity. Because honestly, it'd be sick to have Bard and Healer stuff keeping up at late-game Calamity and Fargo's equipment.
