Contemporary Pet Portraits by Steve Javiel with Maddie and Jenna

Steve Javiel is an artist living and working in Oakland using graffiti and abstraction as his main modes of art.
Javiel's first picture in this series was commissioned for a friend's dog named, Lucky, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel four years ago. In the process, he was inspired by Andy Warhol's vibrant colored, close-up portraits. The portrait captured the character of Lucky and since has been able to paint many more dogs in his contemporary stylings.
Steve attends Topel Winery in Healdsburg, CA for their "Dogtoberfest", an event dedicated to just dogs every year.
