    Good stuff. Thanks for posting. Gives me the confidence to use this the first time and not fear I'm going to screw up.

    I discovered this video a few days ago and it helped me 100% to do paint touch up on a lot of chips on my wife's car, many of them pretty deep and it came out really, really well. Thank you for your content, you have one more viewer subscribed to the channel.

    They have a squeegee that would make that much easier to level

    Pait should be applied next to the chip. This drags the paint into the chip. Depositing directly into the chip will enable the paint to pull out of he chip when you squeegee. Compare to the Dr. C factory tutorials. He still did manage to get an okay result .

    Why dont you sand down inside the chips firts to make it a smoother transition between the chip/scratch and the surrounding paint, like in your previous video wouldn't have it made the scratches less noticible?? Thanks

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 3 měsíci +1

      No you wouldn’t want to risk scratching the surface outside the chip while sanding, and sanding isn’t recommended by the manufacturer. Also sanding a rock chip is really only necessary if there’s rust present imho.

    Awesome video, very clear instructions, thank you! Quick question, I need to do a 2 stage paint correction on my car as well. I was thinking do the first heavy cut round, THEN Hit my paint chips with this kit, then start the second stage (light correct/polish) and seal or coat after the color chip regimen. Thoughts or recommendations? Thank you!! Again, great video!

      Thank you! Honestly is probably doesn’t matter if you fix the chips before or after the final polish. As long as you do the repairs correctly. I’ve let this stuff dry too long before and it’s very difficult to get off once it’s cured, even polishing didn’t take it off. So just follow the instructions and if you feel it would be best to use it before the final polish then give that a shot.

    Isn't it best to clean, clay bar, iron remove, etc, polish the paint, and then apply this?
    I'm also wondering if a polisher will remove the repair even after it cures?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před rokem +1

      Not really dude. You can do all that if you want, but the only thing that affects the chip really is cleaning it and the surface around it. Once cured, it should be fine to polish.

  • @rizingplanet
    @rizingplanet Před 4 měsíci

    And put the drop of paint next to the chip And the squeegee will level the paint into the chip instead of smearing it out

    if the chip on the bumper has rough edges, how do you smooth them out? Some 3000 grit sandpaper?

    Is this a one time use ? Or can you reuse the product at a later date. Brush , towel by cleaned for a future use?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, the kit can be used for quite a while, and yes you can clean the brushes and applicators with a little solvent before storage.

      @@TurnerMobileDetailing wish I saw this video before I bought a paint pen. I just have a few chips and used a paint pen and it came out clumpy.

    Is black easier to do? I have tuxedo black paint.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před rokem

      Black is probably the hardest actually since black shows any little defect more than other colors. You’ll have to take your time with it.

    Thx for sharing. Do you think a bit of wet sanding over the protruding paint provided, could be a solution instead of using the blending solution?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 11 měsíci

      Sure if you’re confident in your wet sanding skills. Either way to get the paint flush you need a rigid backer to the blending towel or sand paper, like rids stix

    • @UzumakiX5series
      @UzumakiX5series Před 6 měsíci

      I have used 2000-2500 grit 3M sandpaper before and it seems to work fine. Although I let it cure for 30-45 minutes before wet-sanding. Like the author mentioned rids stix is necessary to make it sure it's level because our finger is uneven.

    Dr Colorchip was a huge waste of time for me. Didn't do anything for some deep scratches, and infact made it look worse since the color looks really bad once the solvent is applied. I don't understand why people keep pushing this garbage.

    • @836dmar
      @836dmar Před 3 měsíci

      I’ve never used this stuff but with anything paint there are so many variables and the techniques one uses are a majority of those. Unless the actual paint formula is damaging to an existing finish it is most likely just the way it was done.

    • @dfboiler
      @dfboiler Před měsícem +2

      Agree, its okay for the 10ft view, but if you have deep rock chips, you need to fill, sand, paint and clear coat, no amount of dr. color-chip is going to fill those and look good up close.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Before. Polishing will not remove this stuff if applied and cured properly. Give it 23 hours to cure before polishing.

    Hey, once the touch up hardens fully after a few days, can it be wet sanded a little to
    Level it even more precise?
