I don't understand why her PR team is working overtime to present her as some kind of "bechari" who's being unfairly disparaged by social media. Where she comes from she's got a lot of privilege. Someone who probably never had to give a single audition in her life and got her first film on a platter 'coz her father is a bootlicker of the Khan-Chopra-Johar lobby and a part of their coterie. Tara is a much better actress than her from what I've seen in The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Oye Jassie. Now compare Ananya's trajectory with Tara's struggle. Tara had to work her way up from being a VJ with Disney to a television actress to a playback singer to a theater artist to a concert singer to an ad model to finally being an actress with SOTY 2. She's trained in classical dance, modern dance, Latin American dance and ballet. She's also trained in Opera singing. She has composed music for advertisements and plays. While Ananya's greatest talent is touching her nose with her tongue. Not to mention Tara has got a better and smarter personality and communication skills than Ananya who behaves and sounds like a 5 year old.
Ananya was given the better role in the movie courtesy GayJo who didn't want Tara to overshadow an "illustrious" member of his nepo gang. Tara comes from a theater background and has got way better acting chops which we'll get to see in her future movies. Yet we are bombarded with this wooden doll's sob stories every day when she hasn't seen half the struggle that people like Tara, Kangana, Nawzuddin Siddiqui, Rajkumar Rao, Ayushman Khurana, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aryan, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Radhika Apte, etc have had to undergo. These guys had to act in a lot of shit movies just to be able to afford good scripts. Let her just stand in serpentine audition queues under the hot sun like most strugglers her age do and bronze her white skin in the blistering heat and face rejection ultimately just 'coz she isn't from an elite background. She'll realize what the real sense of "hurt" is. Yet she's invited to GayJo'schat show and flaunted in endless interviews instead of these far more deserving people. It took Vicky Kaushal, Rajkumar Rao, Ayushman Khurana and Kartik Aryan years to be able to earn a place on GayJo's couch. And this plastic bi*tch was invited on his show long before her first movie had even released. Why WOULDN'T she receive hate? Even though Kangana often stretches some things too far, we should be thankful to her that she brought the nepotism debate to the industry. It made all these star kids and their benefactors accountable to the audience. Something that was never witnessed before. Which is why this overdose of PR exercises. Sorry for the long comment.
