    I'm glad I found you. I have a very complex User Flow that easily breaks down into separate concentrated task flows. Between this video and your Figma Auto Layout video, your simple, precise explanations mirror your content and help bring your viewers, like me, from novice to practitioners in an easily digested and actionable way. Thank you for attention to detail and pace. Great Job!

    One of the designers at my work showed me a task flow on her miro board and it intrigued me. I'm 7 months into a ux ui gig and there's so much to learn. I've been designing professionally for 7 years but I consider myself stronger on the UI side. Def getting better at UX but my colleagues are next level. I've been told they were quite jr when started so I'm optimistic. Look forward to watching more videos from you

    Great video! I learned a lot. Especially like the subtle difference in the definitions “General” User and “Specific” User.
    Own humble Note: …perhaps more like a “Specific Type of User”, what actually Persona represent; specific users have their idiosyncrasies (like the weird preference for the colour maroon), Types of Users are characterised by similar thinking and behaviour and represented by models like Personas.
    Correct me if I am totally off…

    Thank you for defining the difference between the Task vs User flow.
    Would you ever use a task flow for a single screen?
    I am working on a single screen that will have a table to be filled out. It's like a bank form for money transfer, potentially showing as a table/form on the screen, and I am asked to create a User Flow for it. But I think it's actually a *Task flow*. Because the user come to this screen for a specific task, and they have to fill out the table cells from top to bottom. And then take an action, like Produce Report (to send to the bank), or Save, or Delete.
    Which way do you go for this scenario? A Task flow?
    I appreciate if you have any example to show.
    Thank you : )

    • @WiredtoDesign
      @WiredtoDesign  Před 2 lety +4

      A task flow is a general path for a task laid down in a linear step-by-step format to go from start to end. A user flow is specific and therefore considers a few additional things: a user/persona, and any loopholes or changes in the context along the way. There’s two more videos on this topic that further shows a clear example on how to draw a task flow VS a user flow. Check them out and let me know if it’s clearer for you! 🙏🏾

    • @WiredtoDesign
      @WiredtoDesign  Před rokem +2

      Thank you so much! I am happy that the channel is giving you value 😀
      Great question! User Story Mapping is a technique used to visually organize & prioritize user stories, which are essentially the features and requirements of a product from the perspective of end-users. User Story Mapping helps to create a shared understanding of the product's functionality among the team members and stakeholders (mostly used in agile teams).
      On the other hand, User Flows, as explained in the video, are visual representations of the steps a user takes to complete a specific task or achieve a goal within an app or website.
      The main difference between User Story Mapping and User Flows lies in their focus; User Story Mapping focuses on breaking down product features and requirements, while User Flows focuses on the user's journey through the interface.
      As for when to do them, User Story Mapping typically comes earlier in the design process, as it helps to define the overall product requirements and prioritize features. Once you understand the requirements clearly, you can move on to creating Task Flows and then User Flows, which will guide your design by illustrating how users will interact with your product to accomplish their tasks.
      I hope this clarifies your question! Feel free to ask any questions, and don't forget to subscribe for more design-related content! 😊

    Is it possible to have 2 task flow on one project since I considering tht the goal of my user on my project is 2 , or I just ruin since the research stage tht I got 2 goals , your content is the light on the end of the dark tunnel anyway ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

    • @WiredtoDesign
      @WiredtoDesign  Před 2 lety +2

      Well, the idea for task flows is to set it up for every task a user typically will do with a product or service. So for instance, the onboarding flow could be mapped up as a task flow.
      Perfectly fine to do more than one if you’re responsible for a larger implementation 😊.
      Thank you!! That means a lot to me 🙏🏾

    • @WiredtoDesign
      @WiredtoDesign  Před 2 lety

      Hey! If I understand you correctly, what you’re aiming to do is create a diagram that maps both the user experience, front end, backend, and any other processes? If so, you need to break the end-to-end experience up into different segments, create user flows for each, and additionally also create a service journey map which includes all of the technologies and services that goes with the user journey flow.
