Gaby Bultmann demonstrates the oud

Der (oder die) Oud ist seit Jahrhunderten eines der wichtigsten Instrumente nicht nur in der arabischen Musik, sondern auch anderer Länder wie etwa der Türkei, und für Europa ist das Instrument wichtig als Modell und direkter Vorgänger der Lauteninstrumente. Im Mittelalter kam der Oud aus dem vorderen Orient nach Spanien und verbreitete sich mit geringen Modifikationen als Laute in ganz Europa als eines der meistgespielten Instrumente. Im Gegensatz zur Laute wurde der Oud durchgängig gespielt und ist auch heute noch in arabischer Kunst- und Popmusik ganz vorne mit dabei. Gerade in Berlin wird das Instrument in arabischer (und türkischer Musik) sehr viel gespielt und auch gebaut und unterrichtet - wie die Museumsführerin Gaby Bultmann kann man es hier einfach an einer Musikschule lernen!
