Probably would have been good to mention that double tapping the input for portal theory creates a large singular portal.
This can be kept out so you can teleport to it at any time without aiming, or to set up combos by knocking the enemy into it.
It can also be used by allies in 2v2 to teleport to Rick's current location.

Where does it send the enemy after knocking them into it if it’s one portal?

I think it's worth noting, this got heavily changed from the beta, you never had to double tap for the single portal and idk why they changed it

You forgot about side special which is you can dash into opponent ( it happen after open a portal. If the portal closed then the side special will be a portal again)

I found it difficult to do the first combo( in 7:50) , in training mode it works, but sometimes the character doesn't enter through Rick's portal and I end up teleporting myself, this happens often, usually when they move a little even though it's a quick combo. I checked this by putting the training bot in mode: dodge after stun

depends on the enemies damage, the lower they are the more likely they will enter from a non extended portal if that makes sense

Also if u want to place the portal behind them at first by tapping the button again after the portal, then if u hit them into it they get teleported back to u, and they can only go thro if they are in stun like after a hit

Ok, can anyone explain how to consistently do the single portal in combos? I feel like half the time it teleports me instead of teleporting the enemy back to me.

Yea, the best way to do it is after the rocket hits the opponent. But just practice you’ll get it it’s not hard as you think

Aim the portal , Double tap ur special when aiming and that will place the portal without going through it
