What I love about this song is the almost endless slight tonal changes either up or down, it virtually never stays on the same level. They're not great shifts, just subtle ones, but all the time. She truly is a great, great singer. The very best, for my money.

Also it's amazing how your interpretation puts the lyrics into a different perspective. Since the lyrics refer to future events (a hopefulness for a future) but also to the past ("youth-days") and some kind of past mistakes ("hope you'll forgive me"/ "god, forgive me"). I initially didn't pay attention to the setting/visuals but now your in-depth analysis made me notice this and appreciate this (admittedly not that fancy over the top music video) much more. Thank you for that!

как один талантливый режиссер прочитал замысел другого,через это вышел на понимание смысла песни не зная текста..офигеть..ну и сопоставив ,что сказал доктор Рейнольдс и Ольга Донская,на прогоне песни,приходит понимание смысла многотрудной работы-каждое слово,каждое движение,каждый жест,взгляд -должны исходить из смысла песни и быть ее продолжением...из крупиц складывается гармония...

I always enjoy that you discuss all aspects of performance, not just the singing technique (although of course that's very interesting too). My sister and her husband were the producers of a musical theatre company on Cape Cod (the College Light Opera Company) for decades, and even more than going to performances I enjoyed going to tech rehearsal, where all those little details got worked out. Yeah, sometimes it ran until 4am, but I was younger then.

When I see and hear her, especially in videos like this, I think of mother nature. While I do not understand the words, she sings them beautifully. Some Angelina fans and some Diana fans tend to dismiss the other singer. I am happy that they are both here and singing.

Marc - while the first visual is her in white, she starts singing in that red dress - and ends in that red dress (the present) the white dresses are her thoughts - somewhere other than the present. At least that's my take. (Your eyes were closed when she first started singing - perhaps you missed that?)
