Just to note on 10:26 - It doesn't matter if you use Life Grip before or after the pulse bomb sticks, it can still explode other targets while it's active. Life grip only prevents damage for the target, and doesn't act like a Zarya bubble like many people think.The life grip also ended before the pulse went off, so the Brigitte also died
it was an unlucky timing. If tracer would place the bomb before Eskay pulled the torb, the bomb would blow up in the air, not killing anyone, bc Brigitte would be out of the range.
Honestly as a tank player lifeweaver is cool. It allows me to do REALLY stupid shit that would 100% kill me without lifeweaver such as pressing shift as rein into enemy team pinning someone and getting pulled out.
Wasting a grip on “stupid shit” when it doesn’t even always have a chance to pay off. Then the enemy wifeleaver grips ur pin and you get Ana slept into a solo death blossom

No I’d rather pull my teammate out of a certain death after the enemy spends cooldowns and not my teammate. Also not going to have pull every time for the rein too perfect of a scenario
I have always said as an anna main... i cant heal bad positioning... Now i just swap to lifeweaver and play a new game called herding cats. It rarely works as cats tend to run away the moment i look away. BTW the platform should come back down if no one is on it.
it not auto breaking could be used to your advantage. Theres been times where im in a hallway or place with a door nearby and theres someone whos chasing me and i can set it down in the doorway, walk over it to trigger it and than it'll be stuck floating halfway in the doorway blocking the person from chasing me. Pretty helpful to use as a bit of an obstacle if in tight corridors sometimes 👍

From my experience as a dps, I get killed by grip waaay more often than saved by it. It's incredibly common for lifeweaver who screwed up _their_ position and ended up with a tank in their face to pull you in a "cOmE hElP yOUr SuPpOrT" way. So we both die. It's not even low ELO. Bottom Masters rank. I hate the fact that there isn't a prompt on the screen that would let you cancel being gripped In the meantime, they should rename it into Deathgrip
He is like Lucio, if your team doesn't use your utility then he feels gross so in lower ranks you have to know how to use your own utility selfishly, like DPS Lucio for example
This is true, but he is also like Lucio in terms of you actually have to be quite good at the game to play him even decently. Lucio and Lifeweaver in the wrong hands are 100% troll picks.

Even if they tunnel vision he has big heal output at range and can protect himself from dive, particularly in lower ranks where people have trouble hitting a genji. Plus he's not a scoped in ana or a zen or bap hard focusing damage. Its harder to not see the crit health markers pop up when he's probably incredibly low maintenance in the metal ranks. I mean even if you only use petal for yourself, spam heal your tank, and pull your tank out of getting ulted down, you'll probably have more impact than an ana that can't hit an anti nade or a sleep and never prioritizes damage. People are just still learning him, even still unlocking him i'd imagine.

Hero looks like a ton of fun to play on the conditions that your teammates are rational and you have the positioning sense of one of the top players in the game! Sadly my experience in overwatch was that I had neither of those lol

I'm calling it now, once Lifeweaver gets some adjustments, he's going to cause some big changes to team comps. The fact that he can pull friendlies out of a fight makes it possible to play far more aggressive on heros that normally wouldn't be able to due to their lack of mobility. I think Rein is going to be a good combo with him. Rein can win up close against just about anyone but he doesn't have any escape if he ends up in too deep. Lifeweaver fills that niche. Melee loving Brigs as well. I also think Mei will be a good choice with the changes coming to her spray fire mode incentivizing close range play.

I literally had a Doomfist straight up walk in to the enemy frontline using ZERO abilities every fight because I chose lifeweaver. They said they throw every game they get a lifeweaver in. There was a lifeweaver on the other team too so it's extra stupid.
Platform quality of life buff: platform goes down if there’s nothing on it and it turns into an elevator for 10 seconds once first touched. That way people aren’t wasting platforms by barely walking over them which seems to happen all the time
tank asked my friend to switch off lifeweaver and said he was throwing so "he would too" and stood still as doomfist just shooting at the enemy with knuckle gun
What’s the benefit of the old controls, by the way? Being able to dash without jumping is one I can see, but outside of that the weapon switching is clunky and it’s a bit confusing having platform on m2, so…
I was so happy the other day, I'm a hardstuck bronze who loves playing lifeweaver and i get constantly called "the best lifeweaver" because of my gamesense. I think lifeweavers kit is so interesting and fun to use.

Lifeweaver isn't bad. He's not perfect but he's usable if you have good game sense and if you don't panic grip people. So many times I've had lifeweavers when I'm on DPS panic grip me as echo when I go in for the beam kill on a nearly dead squishy or about to drop my ult and they think I'm in some mortal danger at full health and no chip damage whatsoever.
The legit clutch grips are almost too jarring sometimes, haha. I'll be in a life and death situation knowing I'm pretty much done for but frantically trying to get a kill or maybe escape, and then suddenly everything turns pink and I'm rapidly flying away from my would-be end.
one thing folks dont talk about as much with LW is the hand fatigue with hold to charge. I dont like the alternative option either though It feels clunky. not sure how to fix though, maybe make it automatically charge blossom at all times? I dunno.

A "top 500 on my other acc" tank in plat would not stop crying about me swapping off Lifeweaver even though my heal stats were > any other support in the lobby + I had the least deaths. At the same time the "top 500 on my other acc" did not push point once the entire round 😢

i really wished there was an option to keep old dash without having to keep manual switching on as a pc player i have loads of buttons to make the abilities so locking a better version of the dash behind manual switching just because controllers dont have many buttons seems really annoying to me

@@bloom2586 It's not though. You can't dash inside of Ravenous Vortex because he can'tjump off the ground. You can't gain extra distance on dash by holding jump either. It overall hampers your ability to play LifeWeaver.

Weak character doesn’t mean can’t win, it means far less value for the same skill and effort investment vs other characters. Life weaver can not dash while in Ravenous vortex with the new control scheme :( Maybe they should add another dash input that works when pressed regardless. Or an option go not have dash as double jump without manual control scheme

Weaver is the ultimate IQ character. It's perfect for support IGLs so they can control flankers and protect frontliners from tunnel vision

Then you’d be perma slowed, but I agree it’s a lot of work holding and releasing the button methodically after a only a few games.

A "top 500 on my other acc" tank in plat would not stop crying about me swapping off Lifeweaver even though my heal stats were > any other support in the lobby + I had the least deaths. At the same time the "top 500 on my other acc" did not push point once the entire round 😢
Just want to ask. Does anyone understand why Soldiers stay on high ground for ages, then as soon as they pop visor, they instantly just jump off high ground?

Healed 16k with 20 kills 15 assists with weaver and team asked me to change instead of the zen with 5 k healing 10 kills.

i really wished there was an option to keep old dash without having to keep manual switching on as a pc player i have loads of buttons to make the abilities so locking a better version of the dash behind manual switching just because controllers dont have many buttons seems really annoying to me
I play the old style on controller. Don't try and blame console players. PC players were complaining just as much.
@@ReaveIdono the new control scheme for lifeweaver is way better now dont get me wrong, i just hope we get the option in the future to turn on old dash with automatic switching instead of having to use old dash with manual switching
@@bloom2586 It's not though. You can't dash inside of Ravenous Vortex because he can'tjump off the ground. You can't gain extra distance on dash by holding jump either. It overall hampers your ability to play LifeWeaver.
@@ReaveIdono yeah thats what im saying?? thats why i want the option to keep that version of the dash while keeping automatic switching which is more comfortable in my opinion, because currently you can only use the old version of dash when you use the old controls and cant use it with the new primary and secondary fire system they added
Sub 45% wr at all ranks, even if you can make it work, the effort you’re putting into it would be better spent on any other pick. Weak character doesn’t mean can’t win, it means far less value for the same skill and effort investment vs other characters. Even if you’re carrying on life weaver, you’d be carrying even harder on literally any other support pick.

I really think lifeweaver needs a buff, and hes going to get one. Hes not bad, but currently its hard to justify playing him over any other support
I got 5 LW or so in my gold\plat games. We lost most of them. And the fuckers never swapped.

And even if he was the worst, he's not bad in the slightest. If he TRULY is the worst DPS in the game, then that's a good thing, since that would mean the DPS roster is rather balanced, since Genji is still pretty damn good.

Maybe they should add another dash input that works when pressed regardless. Or an option go not have dash as double jump without manual control scheme

im only gold bu i was playing life weaver and some guy on my team was like "swap off life weaver please" and i didnt and then second round he was like "nevermind stay as life weaver" since i was doing so good 😭might not matter much since im literally gold but thought of it when i saw the intro
This is why people just turn all comms off, no one wants to be told how to play ranked or not. Of course sometimes playing the swap game is the way if you want to rank up but like honestly... Who really cares that much, I play what I want.
