Just imagining them getting ready for bed later on, each in there own beds, lights out and Alex starting a long story with" Its like...." and Doyle staring up at the ceiling in the dark trying to go to sleep, lol.
I've met doyle 4 different times. He has always been really cool down to earth when I met him. Everytime I have met him I've asked permission to meet him. He's always been respectful, joking around & seemed to be in good mood. The last time I met him I asked permission to talk to him. I got a my pic with him & got my album signed & he actually took the time to talk too me. Than someone came up while I was talking to him & he told them to fuck off. I asked him why are you taking the time to talk to me, sign my album & take a pic. He said because you asked permission & are being respectful.
Yeah I would have done the same thing in fact I had a chance to and unfortunately the LSD kicked in and they noticed me a lot more than I noticed them apparently it got around to the whole band the whole crew and then the merchandise manager came out and asked me if I was going to make it to the show and this is a 1999 I was 15 or 16
I'm just imagining going you guys go to see this kid I guess they all got to peek but then people started to line up for the show and I don't think they wanted to get me in trouble
Normally dudes never wearing shirts is weird to me but if Doyle wore a shirt I’d be concerned

Yeah sure he does I don't have to shave my chest me and one other friend from high school and I don't care about shirts because it seems like it's preferred I don't wear them but then that makes me uncomfortable

I was is humble enough I'm really seems to care about addiction and recovery from what I've heard doing sober October and everything I think I could guess why but again I don't want to misinform anyone
For those saying Doyle is arrogant you couldn't be more wrong. I got to meet him a couple years ago and he's exactly like this in person. Not arrogant at all he's just a matter of fact type guy. Plus look at it this way, he's been playing for almost 35 years can you imagine the amount of interviews and the same questions he's had? I'm telling everyone here if you get the chance introduce yourself. You'll be surprised at how approachable he really is. Just don't be a dick.
I interviewed Doyle a couple of weeks ago, he is shy and to the point, but once he warms up he's cool to talk to, I'm friends with his publicist and he said he gets really anxious when it comes to meeting new people
Even if he was arrogant, he's got the goods to back it. First, he's hot AF. Second, he's a fucking legend. He's an original Misfit. And even though he isn't a virtuoso, he writes gnarly heavy riffs. He's influential to say the least. Plus, I've had a crush on him since I was 12, so I'm biased, lol. And, his muscles
Couldn't agree more. Met him twice, and he could not have been any nicer. Very humble, but to-the-point, no bullshit guy. If you talk to him like a normal guy, he's more than willing to have a normal conversation.

Doyle is very down to earth. He's not a fan of interviews or dumb questions. He just does his thing an moves on to the next gig! Very straight forward and to the point no bs or filler. One coolest guys in music. Most are arrogant jerks...

Thanks everyone for getting this video to almost 10,000 views now!! And for all of you putting down Alex for talking too much, read this: I interviewed DOYLE. The BAND. Which is made up of several people, including the man known as Doyle. But the interview was with both of them equally. Just because Doyle himself is more famous or whatever does not invalidate Alex being in the interview. His contributions were great and I was fortunate to be able to hang out with both of them together.
I thought with Alex talking it opened up Doyle, who is usually more reserved. Good job.

Yeah, I wanted to be sure to do my research beforehand. I watched a lot of Doyle interviews and I cringed the entire time because the interviewers were clueless about Doyle getting annoyed at them for asking dumb questions. So I made sure to not be an idiot, and then Doyle respected me. He is only a jerk to people who deserve it!

Great interview, so just real and actually intimate - and Alex speaks very interestingly about art and music - about creative process and uniqness of artists which is so important. To be fresh and genuine whith what you offer to your audience. Been listening for some times other of his stuff and he really digs things in his craft.
Regarding some fans being disrespectful. Good answers!.Is is all about respecting an artist' work but about all knowing the difference between what's the musical career and the personal life. It is also called 'Common sense'.

I realy like what doyle and alex saying in this interview,they are realy professionals.I am realy inderested in the words that been mentioned about early years of their lifes...about young age children,guitar hero shit. Idealism is their secret source that their horror music comes from.They sound crazy sometimes but their going crazier and crazier cuz thats actually how it is.
Doyle hits and plays the chords as no one guitarist will ever do or done before,i realy like what those guys create and can't wait to see them live one day.

Ask guitarists like Steve Lukather: shredding is great, but songwriting is king. He gave his son Trevor his first guitar, tuned it to drop D and said “write songs”. Doyle is a master of the riff. Incredible stage presence and a genuinely nice guy.

There are some bullshit comments about Doyle and steroids. Look at old Misfits photos, you can see he has a muscular body type, he appears to have been athletic in high school. Being consistent throughout the years with working out and being smart with his diet has led to good results. He also doesn't appear to have the characteristics of people that use steroids. The Lodi boys are hard working blue collar guys, maybe if they were from the west coast they'd be on some shit.

Doyle is on steroids and he works very hard to maintain the shape as well. It looks like a basic cycle that you should try someday if you set a good diet for youself. You just can't stay fit and ripped while having all that muscle mass at the same time, and he's 50. That's not compatible with the human hormone system neither your metabolism at that age, unless you consider his genetics supreme. Bet you aren't that naive.

Ryan Philip I understand what it is to maintain a body like that, and steroids are a part of it. Doyle does works hard at the gym to be at this level and I admire him for this, but there is no way he can still be this fit and with that muscle mass in his 50s in a natural way. You could just go around and ask this to *ANY* professional bodybuilder or a fit model and he would agree with me.

I apologize for not seeing this sooner.
I don’t charge for conducting interviews, but that’s not the case for everyone. At the time of this interview I worked for a college radio station and these interviews, for me, felt like more of a privilege for me than for the artists. There was an agreement with labels that we would play their music, and sometimes they asked if we wanted to interview their artists!

I agree, I love the Michale Graves era of the Misfits but when you say that shit loads of Danzig fans will make fun of you and say its new metal, its absaloutely nothing like new metal. Its nearly exactly like the Danzig era but it was heavier and had some metal elements but it was more inspired by 50's music than the Danzig era, song writing wise. Static age is still my favourite album of all time but I love famous monsters and american psycho. Love the Doyle shit as well.
If I get a chance to meet any famous person I try to be as painless as possible for them. I don’t want to be a pain in the ass for them.

He talks about doing cocaine pretty often just in the few interviews I've listened to with him. Wouldn't think Doyle would be down with that but obviously these guys love each other. Hopefully Frankenstein will have some positive effects on the Wolfman eventually.

Weird question. I know Doyle is a vegan and very consciouse of what he eats, what is he eating out of that baggie? Do you know? Also, I think it is hilarious that he superglued his fingers, I do that all the time. I work on cars a lot so I wash my hands a lot therefore my nails are always separating from my fingers, I thought I was the only one that did that!!
Thanks for the comment! That is pretty funny about superglueing fingers. It seems to work pretty well! Doyle was eating chocolate covered raisins. He actually offered me what he had left at the end of the interview.

I thought that was superglue haha. I think Doyle has a background in mechanic work and/or fabrication so maybe he picked up that trick from those days. He beats the shit out of his guitar though (like fuckin' jackhammers- wuddya think, we're lightweights?) so wouldn't be surprised if he developed that fix as a guitarist.
Gorgeous frankenstein was great until the vocals started and ruined it but this new doyal band is way better and this wolverine looking guy is great on vocals.

Cool interview, they allowed them to talk. I think right away Doyle can tell if some one is playing 20 questions vs getting a good conversation going. Why did this keep getting darker? lol wtf.

In terms of why it was getting darker, that was just because my camera was having trouble adjusting to the bright bed-side lamps.
My #1 goal going into this interview was to try to have a conversation, not just go down my list of questions. And I think it showed. It can hard for Doyle to come out of his shell, but I feel like I succeeded in making him comfortable enough to have a great conversation.

started drinking game with friend after watching this interview. He had 750 ml & I had 750ml of fireball. Everytime alex said like we took a drink. It was like 10 minutes in to interview & like the bottles were empty. I mean like we switched to beer. By the time the interview was over. we were like like like really fuckin hammered & like really tore up & like like like like like really regreted it the next day. I challange you to take a shot everytime alex says like.

Didn't see this comment until now, but wanted to respond. Doyle definitely came off as a little arrogant, and I think it was definitely a Jersey thing. That being said, both within the interview and before/after the interview he treated me with a ton of respect and was extremely kind. He is a person that is genuinely enjoyable to hang out with. Both Doyle and Alex were down to earth dudes who were happy to have some random college radio kid interview them and take pictures with them. I was even asked to drive them to the show after, which felt like way too much responsibility, haha.

I saw some of your original comment in an email notification. Unfortunately it cut off when you started talking about me (the interviewer). It seemed like you were going say something negative, though, so probably just as well. Otherwise I agree with you, Alex was not articulate. He is a raging river of thoughts that couldn't quite coalesce into something coherent. Once Doyle opened up, the interview got much better.

Unfortunately, working in a dimly lit motel room with no gear other than a camera and a tripod limited my options. This was originally recorded for a college radio station, so not exactly high budget, either.
