Cat 9L still putting in work. A testament to Cat products. Try to find a 40 year old piece of heavy equipment not badged with a Cat label and it’ll only be used for parts. Truly remarkable machine.
I might not have operated a scraper since the 70's but I am curious why the scraper operators have the apron so far open? The material should load better with the apron closed more. They also seem to keep taking a deeper cut and the dozer is spinning it's tracks, not good. Before you start in on my ability, I operated a 657 push pull on a large flood control dam and we hauled sand and gravel as well as go offsite to strip topsoil for clay borrow pits and also cut onsite clay for the core. I also worked on road jobs and loaded shot rock to haul to the fill site.
I agree with U on the apron issue, I spent years on dozer and towed scoop and U always kept the apron as low to the ground as possible so the dirt goes in and stays in, not bulldozing along in front and then losing half the load by the time they get the apron closed. They need to go and read the Cat hand book on scraper operating techniques. They all seem to do it over in the USA more so than anywhere else, must be an American thing.
I operated a 657 push pull on a large dam project in the late 70's and other than the clay core the dam was built out of sand and gravel. When loading it was much quicker to keep the apron low to the ground so like you said isn't pushing the material ahead instead of into the bowl. Very interesting machines to operate.@@rossgray3070
I always thought that CAT should come up with a system with nitrogen charged tilt cylinders on straight and semi u blades for pushing scrapers then can be a reg tilt for dozing. Might save an occasional tire from a corner bit when your trying to use the curve of the dozer blade as a cushion
@@slip8293 I know that I ran a D10 pushing 651's for Industrial use Constructors ( a division of Washington Corp ) but the cushion blades with no tilt and narrow width make them limited for pushing dirt. When I was waiting on scrapers I would be dozing

Okey 👀👀👀Saludos cordiales desde Sudamérica Santa Cruz bolivia 🇧🇴 👍 excelente 💜 👍 😀
No 657s? No D-10s? That was a small operation by SoCal standards. Still cool though.
It still some very expensive machinery
Any dirt moving video is fine with me .
Show de bola 😅😅😅

They have these blades with huge springs in them for that purpose

@@jesstrueblood2317 I see what ur saying now yeah they cant tilt.
I’ve pushed with 9 and 10 push cushion and straight dozer never got into a tire
A little different than push-pulling 12 yard Le'tourneaus with a 14a's lol u gotta swap spit with em
Beach sand. Tough to load.
Are these D9Ls or D9Ns?
D9l's
Scraper CAT 631 D Yamazaki constcuction
sideboards
631’s??? You all can retire on that job. It will take you forever with those tiny scrapers. Good luck.
Don't get in the groove
The Dozers push the scrapers over the "Edgy"!!!
Just throw it in neutral
Peanut wagons, all this dirt and nothing bigger? come to the front and steepin the cut then back up
