I don't usually play manufacturing esque life sims but this game looks so cool I might just give it a try! I love how the trailer give us a lot of gameplay. Also I like to imagine at the end with the other girl looking at the main character, it might be that the main character is inspiring that girl to become a business owner herself, repeating the cycle of people achieving their entreprenueral dreams.
I think you're right, that would make sense! Or maybe she was starstruck to see the CEO of the company she works for? Something like that. 😅

The creator of this game had been posting updates to us in a Philippines Stardew Valley FB Group even from the start. I'm very happy it's getting good attention from other countries.
I've just backed this. So far it looks really good. But then again I thought Sunnyside had promise but I feel like I was burnt by that one. Hopefully this one doesnt disappoint
This game has all the features I've always dreamed of in a farming game! I'm very excited to play this!
I'm not sure about this one. My gut is just telling me it's promising too much. They are also asking a very small amount on their KS, and there are no stretch goals. I'm going to wait and see with this one.
Stretch goals will be revealed after reaching the initial goal amount.
It already has so many aspects in the game, let alone little details mixed in! It really looks like the dev(s) really put in so much love ❤
This is probably the best farming sim I've seen on your channel! I've never been so excited to see a game with all these features combined. It seems like it's going to be huge once it's released 😍
I love all the details in this game! Most gamedev don't do this much detail in sim/farming games like this. Most of the time it's just organizing and buying furniture and dating by talking and gifting. This one just feels very immersive. I do hope it actually gets complete though.
Gives me Dreamland vibes. One developer, first game with no other real game design experience under their belt, no playable demo, woefully underestimating how much it would cost to make a game like this, 3D game which is inherently more difficult to make, lots of features, Kickstarter on the front says California but Brick Geek profile says to be in Philippines. Sorry, but I don't see this ever being a thing.
Wow this is VERY ambitious, especially for a solo dev. If this gets completed it has the potential to be one of the best farm/life sims.

There’s a lot going on in this game. I hope it runs as smoothly as it does in the trailer. I’m not a huge chibi fan, but it still looks pretty cute. I do like how the developers tried to make you similar to your real self in the game (vice the arrogant neighborhood bully or something similar lol.) It’s a nice touch.
Interesting how we now own the farm/ the means of production, the factories, and the storefront. It’s a shift from the traditional format
where these games (e.g., Harvest Moon) had more of a community focus. Before, the farmer grew and shipped crops and the local general store would theoretically sell them. The relationship was symbiotic. And now, in this game, you’re more of a mega CEO type who manages the whole process themselves and are admired for it. Quite a different perspective.
I’m up for trying it if it runs well though. I’m hoping that the characters have lots of personality since I enjoy the RPG aspects of these games.
Hmm, this kinda sounds too good to be true and I don't like it when ingame items are kickstarter exclusive. I'll keep an eye out for it and maybe try it when it releases, if it turns out well.

I can’t help but be skeptical… Their kickstarter feels lacking in comparison to other kickstarters I’ve seen. Sure the video itself looks impressive but lack of actual info surrounding the game other than what’s shown is a little odd. There’s no info about the dev team, if new, sort of expected, but even then, most kickstarters would talk about or list the people or the company’s goals, and kinda looks like the efforts of one guy? Not outlandish, plenty of other games have a single developer, but idk a pretty ambitious game like this, and I’m supposed to expect they did all the art, animation, coding and writing, and then on top of the social media and marketing? I’ve seen some music credits on their facebook but that’s pretty much it.
Including creators in their game as they’re doing the kickstarter to get more attention is also iffy to me. Makes sense to outreach as advertising, adding people into their games as NPCs adds an extra layer of investment to get both the content creators involved and even the fans of said creator.
In terms of actual game, there’s a lot of footage on how far you could go, the diversity of choice planned, but a lack of how much it connects together? It could possibly be just that it’s very early in development, but looks more like a bunch of different mechanics thought up of rather than any implementation how it’s all interlinked. Perhaps social aspect isn’t all that in this game, but I also find it weird we don’t get any video or shots of any dialogue, making me think there isn’t any atm. There’s shots and longer video of the dating interaction and mechanic, but it’s all choose an action, chance of success and animation. There’s definitely a promise of quantity, but idk if it’s actually going to be all that cohesive together, or that much more in depth than what’s shown.
Maybe I’m just being cynical, but it’s hard to believe that the game will come out in just 2 years time for it to be as grand as it promises, with enough quality to actually be fun. Hoping I’m wrong, but if it’s going to take just a couple of years for a small team to make such an impressive game, I have to wonder what they’re doing so differently compared to the other indie devs and also bigger well-known named games out there.

lol Vroid models trying to look chibi is funny sometimes but I guess to an extent it works here. I wonder what hair/outfit options they have? Many of the outfits look custom made instead some of the premade options in the program so that's promising cause it shows they're putting effort into stuff. Vroid can be pretty useful & it's nice when people put effort into the models/designs when they have the ability to do so. I hope I like one of the guys in the game if I get this cause there's some nice looking ones but I dunno about their personalities yet.
This looks pretty interesting, I'm not sure about some of the business stuff cause I'm not sure how good I'd be at it but then again they seem to be allowing for multiple options so I don't have to upgrade stuff if I don't want to.

I definitely think you bring up some good points! I thought the game looked visually very appealing but it's undeniably a large undertaking to create a game that is attempting to do so much in so little time! I was curious though, as the video and animations make me think at least a decent portion of the game is completed, so I wonder what exactly the funds would be going to for development? I checked the Kickstarter page and it didn't openly list the cost breakdown anywhere. I hope it will be successful nonetheless, but it seems like if they focused more on the things that make the game feel unique, such as the business and manufacturing side, the game would be far more grounded and doable for a smaller team.

I assume a lot of money was already put into the game, I don't really see how 25k could be what a company needs to make a game.
25k is like a wage of someone for 3-4 months. I don't like being negative but I also don't like to give money away and see it gone. I'll just wait for the game to come out before putting money to it but keep my eye on it.

Does the developer have a history on what other games they have worked for or on? I am having a hard time navigating kickstarter. I never really used the website before and have a hard time doing research on things there. I just feel like all stuff there is a scam, Low goal amount make it so it will pass the pledged goal then they get your money. Then they find out they can't do the project for such a low amount and cancel the project but keep your money.
I assume they are the same developer from steam and they seem to have made 1 other game. They should put that info on the kick starter so people can see they do have work done and did other projects so you can see what other games they have made.
Anyways, This is just kinda the way I think when I see something on kickstarter and how I feel. Most people hate me for it but I like to think with an open mind... and be a bit careful with my money.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Trade Tales has been in development for 2 years, and in our country, salaries for hiring talented individuals are about 1/8 of those in the US, making our budget efficient. The funding goal covers essential costs like expanding our team and refining gameplay.
As a person of color, I would like to see more people of color in the game. Only 1 black NPC among 18 is sad and not inclusive enough for me
Definitely looks pretty interesting! The art style is a bit odd (very janky movements) though I’m sure it’ll improve over time. Not sure if I’ll back it but will definitely wishlist it and keep a close eye on it

Looks so cute and really amazing. My only critique, in my opinion, I don’t like how short the girls arms are. It looks like they reach the upper hip and not the mid/ lower thigh. Make the proportions weird compared to the male character models which look like they have longer arms

This game does show some potential however I do feel people should be aware they did at one point try to make a NFT project by the name of Champion Hunters, as well as a handful of other titles that I don't believe were ever released as I couldn't find much on them. The only one i could find they did release was lockdown hero on steam.
Not saying you absolutely shouldn't support them but do be cautious and try to make an informed decision before jumping into doing so.

That was way back in 2021-2022, back all the way when *NFT was popular.* Looking back at Champion Hunters, I don't think Jergs was trying to scam people. After all, it was only recently that it was agreed upon as a scam. Trade Tales is not going to follow this trend of NFT, for sure.
Hi there, I'd like to clarify a few things. In the past, I've worked on several passion projects to enhance my game development skills. These projects were personal and not intended for immediate release. Unfortunately, the Champion Hunters game was canceled due to the 2022 crypto crash and never made it to any sale or release. This experience led me to decide against pursuing NFT-based games due to concerns about their impact on the gaming community's reputation.

I feel the character models fall outside of chibi into...an uncanny valley of anime dwarfism. Just the lengths of the arms and legs feels almost exactly proportionate to dwarfism, not just little characters represting typical people made tiny.
Someone said these were Vroid models that have been modified. Vroid models are very typically standard height and proportions, so maybe thats why they look odd.
Cute but, in a slightly unsettling way to me...anyway.
I dont care much for going into a franchise. lol. To me, farm sims have great closed gameplay loops.
Make crops to make money to make more crops to make food to make friends to make a small family life, and flesh out a happy home. Very cozy, but small in scale. Becoming a franchise owner starts to disolve that loop. Why do i want more than a tiny store? Will being a millionare be...useful? And if so, toward what?
If there arent cool story milestones to make it meaningful it just feels like the scope will eventually abandon the loop.
"Number go up" doesn't compell me much.
But, we will see. It could be very compelling. It has a lot of potential right now.
why the characters is using Generic Look of Vroid Modules, didn't they don't wanna change it a bit?
It's an artistic choice. I say it blends very well with the game's graphics and environment.

This game is not doing very well on Kickstarter right now. The pledges/donations have almost completely stopped.

If this game actives funding their stretch goals then this game will be great. If this game doesn't achieve funding their stretch goals then this game will be bad.
The stretch goals are just small bonuses on top of the massive gameplay features already included in the game. The core gameplay is already solid, and we’re very confident that the game will do well, with or without extra funding. The Kickstarter campaign is a bonus to help support and enhance the game, but our commitment to making it a success remains strong.
